EL DÍA, Adeje
In a council meeting in Adeje yesterday, with votes for by PP and PSOE, was approved a change in the general planning zoning for several plots in sector SO.9 in Barranco de Las Torres, near Tropicana Atlántico S.L., which will allow for a commercial centre to be built with an investment of 401 million Euros.
The PP supported the motion as it referred to a “a sports centre and other services which are referred to in the General plan and consequently didn't need re-qualifing”. Following this the PP spokes person , Andrés Montiel, said it included a large scale building work costing 111 million Euros, to which can be added 290 million Euros in third party work and it should generate “more than 6.000 jobs”. The works which should take seven years, will generate 12 million Euros for the town hall in licenses plus 12% of the income as they have seeded the land and six million for the session of the land as well as 18 million Euros in complementary income.
The PSOE refused Montiel's request that the sessions were retransmitted live by Municipal radio. They stated that people were not interested. The PP had hoped that this would be allowed for people who were sick, had reduced mobility or who couldn't attend as they were working. So all could hear what was going on in the council sessions.

well, let's hope - if it does get started that it will also get finished! Unlike Las Chafiras which remains a total eyesore!
