Not even an egg? Our Canarian next door neighbour gave us some eggs and potatoes a couple of days ago and said 'you'll be able to make fried eggs and fried potatoes'. I was quite surprised because I hadn't thought of eggs and chips as being in any way Spanish so I tried to explain that was what we ate in UK as well and she said 'oh, with rice?' so I said, er, no, not with rice and she said 'with bread' so I said 'Yeah, could be with bread.' Sometimes seems we're all the same and then other days ... it doesn't.

Is it raining with you Ed? I'll be over week after next. Should I pack my winter woollies (again).

Look a bit like mince, got to try it, cant dislike something ive never tried
Good on you sunspot. Keep an open mind, I think you'll like it.

Edit: Ingredients as follows...

For the more adventurous read on ............

Haggis ingredients and recipe

Sheeps 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced (ground) with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally encased in the animals stomach and boiled.

Sheep stomach cleaned, turned inside out and soaked overnight in cold salted water.
Heart and lungs of one lamb
1lb or lamb
2 large onions, finely chopped
8oz oatmeal
salt (about a a tablespoon)
ground black freshly ground pepper (teaspoon)
Stock (the water the meat has been boiled in is best)
Water

The next three are recent optional ingredients:

dried coriander (teaspoon)
cinnamon (teaspoon)
nutmeg (teaspoon)

Method

Boiled all the meat until cooked through (Save the stock)
Mince the meat
Mix it all together with the seasoning and stock
Pack it into the stomach bag and seal
Chuck it into a big pan of cold water, bring to the boil and then simmer for 2 hours

http://www.obanargyll.com/image-files/haggisneepstatties1.jpgHaggis is traditionally served with bashed neeps and chappit tatties. That's mashed turnip or swede and potatoes to the uninitiated. And it's even more fun with good company and a little alcoholic refreshment ....
Enjoy

Most butchers nowadays use a synthetic skin rather than a sheeps stomache. A bit like sausage skin really.

Why you eat that food. You know this food contain the high level of carbohydrates which is the cause of over weight. You must avoid to eat this type of food. Always eat those food which contain the less carbohydrates.

Aniseed balls on toast!!! :)

Trouble is that might be true! We are having leftovers. Yesterday was leftovers with pasta - all mixed in together. And it made a lot. So tonight we are having the left over leftovers. Am already looking forward to tomorrow's meal. Might get something slightly luxurious for a bit of a change.

Maybe she eats it because she likes it and doesn't have weight problems... A little of what you like is good for you, as long as it's not a daily thing.

Sorry though, had to laugh at 'Elvis' giving nutritional advice, especially as he died (the real Elvis, not you you, obviously!) sat on the loo whilst stuffing his obese body with burgers!

That´s about all I could manage after eating half a bag of allsorts, a large piece of homemade German cheesecake and have just finished off a bag of Bombay mix!!!:pig:

Anyway, you're not invited because you didn't bring Glasgow's speciality drink for the ice cream last time, remember? ;)

I have just finished, a couple of small complaints.....

1/ The sausages were a little on the spicy side.

2/ The Bread and Butter Pudding was a tad hot, and I had to ask the wife to blow on it.

But apart from that it was mouth watering.

Today is too cold. Tonight I would like to take green tea along with dry fruits including almonds and peanuts.
It is amazing, you ever try green tea along with green tea?
You should try it.

I watched the final of Masterchef tonight. Amazing food but hadn't heard of many of the items....how do they know all that?
We had pork chops with baked potato, apple sauce, Bisto gravy, vegetables (steam packet in the microwave) and a caramel dessert from ASDA. Wonder if Masterchefs could manage something simple like that?

Well to be honest I will not be eating much tonight. We had our works Christmas do last night and the boss took us to Rodeo where we all stuffed our faces to the extent that I don't even feel hungry today. Maybe have something light later, at the moment scrambled egg with crispy bacon pieces is top of the list. Please MM don't mention wine, after last night just the thought of it makes me feel ill lol.

Exactly the same as OH then! In fact we were going to have Kate and Sidney but the Sidney (or possibly the Kate) turned out to be considerably tougher meat than we'd realised so it's slow cooking for tomorrow and we had to resort to poached eggs on toast - and very tasty they were (though not the same as luvverly Kate and Sidney).

It wasn't the cost of the food at the airport that made us decide to eat somewhere else, it was that at "9.30pm" you couldn't even get a hot drink out of a vending machine.....Nowt available, all shut, deserted, gone home and this airport is advertised as
Prestwick International. :crylaughing:
