Hello everyone
I'm new on this site and hopefully I'll be going to Tenerife for the first time in September 2011. I have travelled extensively throughout Europe and USA but for some reason I've never quite reached the Canary Islands. Don't ask me why.....because I don't know why. It just never happened. Here's my situation and I hope someone can give me a bit of advice on where I should stay:
I'll be going in September, mainly for two reasons: 1)the really big crowds will hopefully have been and gone, and 2)that's when I can get free time to go.
I live in Northern Ireland and can fly directly from Dublin to Tenerife South courtesy of Mr. O'Leary and his band of Ryanair merrymen. I usually travel alone and that suits me fine. I'm a 45 year old man with an outlook on life that is fresher than many people 20 years younger than me (but with the benefit of life experience!) so please don't think for a second that I'm looking for a dungeon in the mountains where I can deliberate on the meaning of life. I want to have an absolute ball when I'm there! At the same time I don't intend to spend every night in nightclubs that go "thump thump thump" either! In a nutshell I'm looking for a nice beach within easy access of entertainment and a hotel that isn't a total dump........or one that needs a bow tie to get in. I'm happy to pay up to £700 for 2 weeks accommodation or thereabouts but location is just as important and significantly more important that a fab hotel in a really quiet area......if that makes sense.
As you can tell from my vague description of my requirements I really haven't got a clue about Tenerife. But I want to go nevertheless and I'd like to find myself in the right location while I'm there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
Chris
