TENERIFE has already welcomed around 1.5 million British tourists to the Island this year, which is close to matching the soaring 2005 numbers. Mmm take away the third of a million cruise line visitors, which spend 4 or 5 hours in port, and the figures are maybe not the answer to struggling businesses.

Have to agree on this. I was surprised that they did not just give the numbers normally issued and then as an addendum give the 312,000 boat people (!) to show its increase. Otherwise these figures are misleading tbh!

Either way there was a hell of a lot more people here this year compared to last year and the few prior to that

It certainly feels busier and cruise clients spend more per head per day than most clients.

We can't believe the difference between now and September....soooo busy! Arrived two days ago and hubby forced to park some way each time from where we want to be!! Walking, plodding, walking....will all other tourists please go away?? Fed up with not being able to park easily....too busy!!!
