Does anyone know of any classes for beginners yoga in Puerto de la cruz that won't cost the earth as we are both now on a pension?

My husband has just started a class here in the UK and would like to continue this in Tenerife when we are there for a few months from January 2012 till end of Mach 2012

He is really enjoying his class and would like to continue this in Tenerife.

Hope someone can help.

I believe there is one in La Cupula not sure whether it is beginners.

Also there certainly are classes at Alveros Canarybird is the one to give you those details because she goes, but I believe it is with apparatus, Also it would help to improve his Spanish there as the person who takes it is Spanish.

Hi Curriegirl....
I also have a notion that Iīve heard of yoga in La Cupola but not sure if that was just a rumour.

Iīve been going to Pilates twice a week for 3 years now at Alvaroīs. There are two styles of Pilates taught there, one is done on the floor, on mats and a lot of it is similar to yoga. The other Pilates is on the machines, (http://canarybird.smugmug.com/Other/My-Life-in-the-Canary/P6153969/564547526_8xMpt-M.jpg) called reformers, which I love so much I canīt be without it.
We lie or sit up on movable beds and stretch our arms and legs on pulleys, doing situps and leg exercises. The aim there is to strengthen core muscles. But we also do other exercises for improving balance, (http://canarybird.smugmug.com/Still-Life/Pilates/i-HpVQGHC/0/M/IMG0366-M.jpg) such as walking on these puff balls.

It might be interesting to check out both the mat and machine Pilates if you donīt find a class that is specifically only yoga.

Good luck,
