DIEGO López Garrido, Spain’s European Union Secretary of State, has guaranteed that the country will not have to be rescued, despite the perilous state of its finances. I do like this one . . . .!!

It is a slow day in a little Greek Village. The sun is beating down
And the streets are deserted. Times are tough, everybody is in debt,
And everybody lives on credit.

On this particular day a rich German tourist is driving through the
Village, he stops at the local hotel and lays a €100 note on the desk,
Telling the hotel owner he wants to inspect the rooms upstairs in
Order to pick one to spend the night.

The owner gives him some keys and, as soon as the visitor has walked
Upstairs, the hotelier grabs the €100 note and runs next door to pay
His debt to the butcher.

The butcher takes the €100 note and runs down the street to repay his
Debt to the pig farmer.

The pig farmer takes the €100 note and heads off to pay his bill at
The supplier of feed and fuel.

The guy at the Farmers' Co-op takes the €100 note and runs to pay his
Drinks bill at the taverna.

The tavern owner slips the money along to the local prostitute
Drinking at the bar, who has also been facing hard times and has had
To offer him "services" on credit.

The hooker then rushes to the hotel and pays off her room bill to the
Hotel owner with the €100 note.

The hotel proprietor then places the €100 note back on the counter so
The rich traveller will not suspect anything.

At that moment the German tourist comes down the stairs, states that
The rooms are not satisfactory, picks up the €100 note, pockets the
Money, and leaves town.

No one produced anything.

No one earned anything.

However, the whole village is now out of debt and looking to the
Future with a lot more optimism.

And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is how the bailout package will work...

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

We can only hope that the rich German tourist decides to visit
Italy and Spain soon~!!!

There is nothing wrong with this, as long as it forms a circle of cash flow. Unfortunately this is not ever the case, current situation is that most of Europe is in debt to Germany and France, everything would be solved if Germany and France purchased goods or services to the value that countries are in debt to them, but Germany and France don't want the products or services of the other countries and that is where the whole problem is.
Add that everyone is in debt to China because of the amount of products purchased from China and this is why the world is struggling.

We have to buy goods from home production and in local shops but buying is the optimum word.

The "Hole" in the story is that all the dealings have been made with people who are offering credit with no charges, money lending always costs someone dearly.

lovely story which goes to prove the old adage " the amount of money in an economy is not important, it is the speed that this money circulates the economy that determines prosperity ".
i get the feeling we are all in the titanic with the iceberg yet to hit
so brace yourself's i certainly am
