Confused about the Tenerife Forum changes

after many months of trying, only just got back on the t/rife forum. now registered as new member though my details aint changed. find it hard to navigate the site. do others have the same prob or am i totally stupid?...careful with the answers to that part!

The forum changed addresses from .com to .org and everyone had to reregister. There is a thread about it somewhere.

The Forum We were in, conked out.

This Forum is a New Forum with much the same Members etc.
The old Forum became accessible later on, but for now, is not yet joined on.
If You used the same signing in password and Username, joining the Two eventually, will just happen.
If any details (such as Username) change ADMIN needs to be told,.

Just to clarify, the two forums are not going to be merged. There are several reasons:

1) the incompatibility of the versions of VBulletin, plus addons
2) The sheer size of the database after 5 years online with 25,000+ members
3) The time it would take to do, along with the complexity of the job... and the fact that each day it gets harder the more posts and members we have on this one too.
4) The fact that a lot of info may be out of date now, so new stuff on here is probably more relevant to today's members.

We do plan on getting the member account info merged, which means old profiles and postcounts, but as it stands, the old forum and it's posts are still accessible to read and will remain so as a reference base. This form will eventually grow to equal, if not overtake it... and the info will be fresher and more accurate too :)

The only real problem members have is that some seem to have missed the mailout we did back in May and have problems signing in, not realising they need to reregister. Hopefully merging the member info will sort that out, but people still need to let us know if their username on this forum differs from the old one so that we can match them up. There is a thread and a form about this in the announcements section.
