Hi

My boyfriend has a portable harddrive with lots ecomics and books. It was dropped and now won't work. Needs a data recovery. Its has an internal clicking and the drive stops. Can anyone reccomend someone to do this.

Thanks

In tenerife or the UK? You have not specified your location, and it's not in your profile.

If it can be fixed there are a few places that I´m sure could help. There is a little shop a couple of doors away from Afortunadas Ferreteria near Wortens? in Las Chafiras...I hear they are very good and are very reasonable as regards costs!

Whatever you do take it to someone whos knows what they are doing. Any messing from an idiot can make things so much worse!!!

sometimes replacing the PCB board can fix it

ask whoever if they do this

I wpuld reccomend Stef at Witsend. He solved my problems after hours of phone calls to telefonica and someone else wiping my hard drive twice

I would second that, not that Steph has personally helped me with these issues I know he can fix the problem for you!! Good luck

Due to drop your portable hard drive is physically damaged so that it is making a clicking noise. Now you can visit either your hard ware vendor or some data recover expert if you want your data back from the drive.

Data recover experts now are we talking Laboratory?

If so look at €1500 per hard drive if they recover data or not

Talk them down to €850 if you're lucky
