Current Weather in North Tenerife Reported by Forum Members - December 2011

I just realized I´m still posting to the November thread. Here´s today´s weather ...Dec. 26th.

Monday, December 26, 2011. Puerto de la Cruz.

Good Morning and Happy Boxing Day!

I hope everyone has been having a good Christmas.
We certainly have been having lovely springlike weather with east winds that are bringing us warmth and sunshine.

Shade temperature outside on my windowsill at 11:10 am is 21.6ºC and the humidity is a drier than normal 46%.

Here´s a screenshot of the Bodegas Monje webcam taken around 10 am this morning and a weather report for Puerto de la Cruz from the RTVE (Spanish Television) weather page:

We have the sprinkler watering the lawn this morning as we´ve had no rain for ages.
The back patio is sunny and the cats are laying on the hot pavement.

I bought an Iceland stuffed turkey breast this year as I didn´t feel up to cooking a whole bird and I was really surprised at how well it turned out! I might just do this again sometime.

great to hear the weather is nice. I have been checking the BBC weather forecast for the north and they say for the next week it will be around 15 degrees. Glad to see it is warmer than that.
We are looking forward to arriving on the 7th January so lets hope it stays nice.

Hi GFG and curriegirl...

It´s been cool in the shade (and indoors) and hot in the sun so we´re going out with a cardigan or jacket and taking it off when sitting in full sun. I´m putting the heater on in the house by late afternoon to keep it cosy for watching TV later on.

Looks like it will be mixed sun and cloud today and the next days. The official forecast from Aemet says the minumum will be around 12º to 13º ...that´ll be night temperature and probably taken around the airport. The daytime temperatures are still up to 23º when there´s little cloud.

This morning (Thursday Dec. 29) at 8 am my outdoor thermometer is registering 16.6º and there are a few clouds around.

The Bodegas Monje webcam shows this at the moment.

Thanks for the weather report. Last year when we came out at this time, we were caught out with the cold weather and didn't have enough warm and waterproof clothes.
As we only bring out hand luggage, it is full of cosy clothes this time. I do hope we don't need them.

Happy last day of the year 2011!

Weather here in Puerto de la Cruz has been beautiful and sunny this morning. A few clouds and a little breeze coming up now after 1:30 pm.
The forecast is for more sun and from Sunday evening there will be east winds until next Friday, with temperatures a little warmer, and who knows....we might even have a little calima on the way.

Temperature on my windowsill at 1:40 pm is reading 27°C but my weather station is shaded inside a little box which must have had a bit of sun on it. The air is mild though.
It's also registering 32% humidity which is dry so I'll have to check that out to be sure it's accurate.

Ah Megaloo so that's where you've been hiding! Haven't seen you in the usual places so now I know.

Yes the weather looks like it will continue to be fair, although it's chilly in the shade and indoors I'm wearing layered warm clothes with a long bufanda around my neck!
