Well thats it done flights booked uncle Micky from Prestwick 8/5/17 - 15/5/17 not Edinburgh which is our preferred airport because flight times of out 6.25am back 12.00 noon not available from Edinburgh this time, decent price £145 each incls all the usual additions. Just booking the apartment in that well known touristic complex Ocean Park:whistle: where we used to own an apartment, large terrace all day sun and nae screaming bairns happy days.

Don't know about Sun Sol but I know people that go to Sunset Harbour and they thinks it great its mostly Diamond Resorts timeshare with some private rentals but I am sure someone with first hand knowledge will give you info

Sun Sol has mixed review on Tripadvisor but Sunset Harbour has very good reviews so based on that alone I'd got for the latter. Just looked at the map and we actually looked at an apartment there when we bought but that was 17 years ago now so cant recall what it was like but always looks clean and tidy when we walk up the ramp to the side of it.

Only decent priced deal we could get was for the Dacil now called Trypt . It is many a long year since we stayed in it
and vowed never again. It has changed hands now so we will see if it is any better since it was refurbished . Trip Advisor

8 weeks til we are back.

This time I have booked a private owned apartment and Ryanair flights. Apartment is 2 bed, full kitchen, communal pool & was £372 for the week, Ryanaire flights are around £140pp at the moment. Whole holiday (flights & accommodation) for 2 adults and 3 children (youngest is under 1yr) came in at just under £1k :D

I found one via tripadvisor, it's Las Plataneras, Sur y Sol (Los Cristianos). It was a similar price doing it this way as booking the Tenerife Sur/Christian Sur & flights (via on the beach). We stayed in the Christian Sur in May 2014 and while it was nice & I liked the apartment we got, I felt we got lucky. The other bonus to booking the Sur y Sol apartment was it has a full kitchen including washing machine and has sky TV in the living room (handy as we are traveling with a baby, a teenager & pre-teen).

I'm not sure when you are wanting to go but On The Beach has flights for around £140 return at the moment going in May/June.

It's now only 14 days until we can enjoy a month of sunshine, good food and relaxation, then the countdown starts for another months worth in October......this retirement is brilliant, the only thing to worry about is when to fit in the UK family holidays. :D

Every year we say right , next year we will come for longer at a time but it never happens . I dont know what mind set you would need to get into ,
you cant be in holiday mode for a month , for a start our livers wouldnt be able to cope with it , I am joking , well , maybe a wee bit .
It would certainly be a lot cheaper than all the airfares we pay for at least 4 or 5 times a year. We have never been able to find a nice comfy apt. to rent
as the usual tourist ones would be impossible to live in for a month , certainly no home comforts in any of the ones that we have stayed in.
It all boils down to the fact as it gets nearer the end of the 2 weeks , we cant wait to get home BUT within a month want back again .
We wont be coming in the summer this year , I found the heat too hard to cope with last year , there was no let up and Tenerife must have the worst air con
in the world .We will do what we did last year and have 2 weeks in Corfu next month , I had forgotten what a beautiful welcoming place Greece was , we loved it last year .

Yes Linda, it's still a early flight out of Prestwick which suits us fine as we are only a forty five minute drive from the airport. Ryanair in their Wisdom changed the timing of our return flights from 11:40 to 06:40, they gave us the option to cancel and get a full refund, which we did and rebooked to the Sunday flights with a return departure flight of 11:40.....the joy of finding that it saved me about £140 was overwhelming, but I'm sure that between you and Carol, with the all bottles of Cava consumed, it will also consume my savings!! :vodkamachine: :D

We are on a weeks cruise starting from Corfu on 2nd June. I love Corfu also but last time we stayed there I almost got eaten alive by mosquitoes, dont know why it was so bad there?

Last year was lovely around 23 deg. which suits me fine . You dont get the cloud that you seem to get all the time in Tenerife now .
We did have one day of torrential rain which would have made you feel right at home :cheeky:The night of the rain , the manager
told us not to worry about it as he would be running us back to our apt.

We are on a weeks cruise starting from Corfu on 2nd June. I love Corfu also but last time we stayed there I almost got eaten alive by mosquitoes, dont know why it was so bad there?
Yes , years ago we always went in July and it was bad then too . I had no problem with then last May , hope for the same next week , fingers crossed .

Sorry Jim....despite contacting seven of my cousins, plus all their relatives, there is 'No room in the stable'!, but I have looked at Owners Direct and they are showing vacancies at Victoria Court and it seems a nice place to stay.

Final approval denied by head office:crying2: due to Grand Children "issues" I am nae happy had a great little cheap deal lined up flights for us both £260 a "new cousins" apartment £294 now we are looking at new year Flights around £1100 lovely apartment £570 but I really find it hard to justify paying this for a week in Tenerife its just no that good :crazy:

myself and my son are back out to UPPER GDS on the 20th December , wife and daughter coming out on the 23rd we are staying until 6th Jan, looking forward to a rest and a beer, its been a tough year
