I have just signed up to 'SKY GO' on my laptop as i am currently in the UK and SKY says i need to install an 'updated' version of Microsoft Silverlight (version 5) as i appear to have version 4 installed and it says there is a conflict?

I have windows 7 and Firefox as my browser, the problem is when i try to delete Microsoft version 4, It stops half way through and says 'No valid sequence could be found for the set of patches'

Any one have any idea how i could delete it so i can install the newer version

It won't let me just update from version 4 to 5 ? :dontknow:

Hi Tom,
Have a look at this to see if it can help! Good luck http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/resources/documentation/Updater.aspx

This is the solution I found on the silverlight forum but you do it at your OWN RISK!

you can make a restore point first in case things go wrong http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html and follow option 2

Solution:

1. Close all open Internet Explorer.
2.open regedit (just type regedit in the bar)
3. find and Delete the following registry entry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT -> Installer -> Products -> D7314F9862C648A4DB8BE2A5B47BE100
4. Install the latest version of Silverlight.
