THIS week Emma Wilson travels to Lake Tahoe on the border of California and Nevada where she hikes through the beautiful landscape and tries the new sport of paddleboarding before indulging herself at the top-notch Squaw Creek Resort.


Meanwhile Darren Kennedy explores the lesser-known rural side of Tenerife where he visits the picturesque “forgotten village” of Masca and takes in the stunning architecture of historic cities La Orotava and Garachico.*

This week’s guest presenter is Emma Crosby of 5 News, who travels to Jordan where she explores the capital Amman, one of the oldest settlements in the world. She also visits the ancient city of Petra. I wanna go , I wanna go!

C5 presenter Darren Kennedy takes you on a mini tour of parts of the island that most holiday makers have never seen, the forgotten village of Masca with its breathtaking views,also La Oratava with its wonderful architecture and in Garachico he visits a 17th century mansion that has been beautifully restored and is now the hotel San Roque,He then goes swimming with turtles and does some mountain biking, He was genuinely amazed and it was like a magical mystery tour getting to see see the lesser known parts of the island.

Watched it at work in my shop. Thought it gave a very good view that Tenerife isn't just PDLA and that there are some very good walks and little villages to see. I always like to see other sides wherever I go. On my first trip to the island my friend told me about the Guanche tribes so I bought a book on it an found it very interesting. I do think that Tenerife is shaking off it's poor image from the '90's of hordes of drunken Brits trashing everywhere.
