What are the charges and costs for transferring money from UK into my Spanish bank?

I am wanting to bring a largish amount of money into my bank here to make a payment off my mortgage which is with Santander.

The UK side is covered and Santander have told me there will be no charges for receiving funds of less that €50,000.

Someone mentioned to me that their bank had recommended a transfer of less than €10,000 but cant remember the reason why.

Last time I transfered money to Santander, which was a larger sum and a long time ago, I got stung by a whopping amount, so I am very cautious about it all, and I am really looking for clarification re charges/taxes etc?

Hi, sorry, I didn´t make myself clear, the transfer from UK is already sorted, I use a compnay called Moneycorp. It is this side, in Tenerife, that I need more information about ANYTHING that will be deducted from the money once it arrives, or might
be deducted in the future. Thank you :)
