Hi, my OH used to suffer, but he went to a Neurologist who prescribed medication. Now, if he gets an occassional attack, he takes Naproxeno Sodico, you can buy them over the counter at the pharmacy. Personally if I was you, I'd go see a specialist first :)

Thanks for the info chifleta. We have an appointment with a consultant in two weeks time. We were looking for something to help with the pain whilst we waited. We will try Naproxeno Sodico

>......the better half mother suffers badly with it.
she was offered surgery years ago at 50/50 survival rate,
needless to say she didn't take it.
problem being she now has to take millions of tablets a day!
but I'll mention the Naproxeno Sodico and see if she has heard or taken it atall.
thanx for the tip!!:thanx:

luckily my OH hardly gets it nowadays, it seemed to be to do with when he was on lots of nightshifts and wasn't sleeping well... I do know that those pills don't work for migraines, I know you shouldn't try pills willy nilly, but needs must sometimes  ... but like I said, didn't work for my migraine, though that's a totally different thing from neuralgia.

Hi IN THE SUN..My husband suffered for years with Triginal neuralgia (excuse if spelling not quite right) and he was prescribed Tegretol 200mg worked for him , but it is a tablet that is used for epilepsy and others problems.
Hope you get sorted as I know how he suffered before getting it controlled.
