Have you got a Mac running a system older than Lion? The new system no longer supports the Appleworks database and I have a lot of info I need to retrieve. If you've got a system Snow Leopard or earlier and run Appleworks (or if I can temporarioy put it on your computer) I would be grateful for ten minutes of your processing time!

Thanks for your comments. I am only too well aware of the problem and the possible solution. Unfortunately I am already in a position where my system will not open the database in order to save as and change the suffix. Hence my quest for a friendly Mac owner who has not yet upgraded to Lion!

Hi, can't help you straight away since both the iMac and the MacBook have been upgraded to Lion but my other half still has a MacBook which runs on Snow Leopard since he could not be bothered to upgrade it. The only "problem" is he works offshore and will be gone for another 2 weeks (with the MacBook). I am sure you'll have a solution before then but if not I can help you out then. Let me know if you have not been able to retrieve all your data!

No prob. Hopefully you'll have it sorted by then but if not we'll see if we can get the data back through the other MacBook!!
