I'm hoping someone can help me by a) providing the correct spanish name and/or a recipe for a pasty that we eat when we're holidaying in Tenerife. We buy them at either the 'El Artesano' bakery on Avenida Los Sabandanos or the Hiper Trebol, both in Los Cristianos. They're probably available elsewhere but these are the two places where we've bought them.

We haven't been to Tenerife for over a year now and we're both missing the experience.

Any help greatly appreciated

Have they got tomato in them?

Yes they have. They're about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide. Maybe half an inch in height in the middle with four crimped edges. They're delicious. My wife thinks that they are made with wholemeal flour but I'm not so sure. They appear to have an egg-wash finish.

Sounds like I've spent more time looking at them than I have eating them :yum:

Is it tuna ? My wife & I have always thought it was sardine/pilchard. I've just googled tuna empanadas & the photos of them do look like the ones that we buy.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I'd better pay closer attention to what I'm eating in future.
