I should have posted this earlier but since Thursday, March 1 the LIDL in Pto de la Cruz (Icod Road branch) has had these selling at €5.49.

It's a motion sensor and battery operated night light.

It operates on three AA batteries (costing one euro per package in Mercadona) but in this box the batteries are already included and installed.

It has three settings: as a motion sensor light operating from 4 meters distance with a 120° viewing angle; as a steady light or fully off.
It has a hook to hang it on a rail and an antislip base, as well as a plug and screw for wall installation. Manufactured by Milomex Ltd., Bedfordshire, England.

I don't know if LIDL has different items selling on different days according to the island location so they may still be found in that branch or be selling elsewhere in the future.

But if you see them I so far think they are great. I bought one yesterday, tried it out last night as a motion sensor light and went back this morning to buy 3 more.

I'll use them in different points where we use the slow to start, power saving bulbs which I find are a nuisance when I want to enter a room to pick up one item in the dark but don't want to wait for the slow bulb to brighten enough to see. The light on this little gadget is very bright and turns on as soon as it senses movement in the room.

Oh and they have a three year guarantee. They're featured in the LIDL flyer edition 9/2012, from Thursday March 1st.

Here is what it looks like:

Yes so far I'm happy with them, They start to work as soon as it's dusk, so don't have to turn them off during the day. Let's see how long they operate on those three little batteries!
