We are hiking a lot on Tenerife, and I have tried to find a map somewhere to be used with for example QruxMaps. But have not been able to find anything other than this: http://www.elsinga.net/map_spain_tenerife.html

This map probably would be good, but it is meant to be installed on Garmin devices. Anyone who has found a solution?

I bought an ACER A500 from China and it is running on the Android OS. Unfortunately, it has all default apps that i don't need, plus i can't download anything from the android market. So is there anyway i can set the software so its like i bought it form the U.S.?

Fantastic - at least the word "and" also appears in my original post!

My post is very old, and meanwhile I have found a superb solution: Osmand with Open Source maps for canary islands. I believe this is the best source available, and this way you have offline access to maps even if no signal is available. I'm finding interesting tracks on Gpsies or wikiloc, and then I have the most splendid tool for following a track with spoken navigation. Highly recommended.
