I didn't see the game last week so can't comment on that one, but I feel Perona is really unlucky to miss out on a starting place, he is after all our top scorer & a genuine goal scoring threat, and I feel Aridane is much more useful as a second half impact player than a starter.

Also, surely we have a better defender than Tarantino, his pace is letting him down time and again. I really like Ayoze in that position (left side of central defence), although he might be injured. Would also like to see Medina ahead of Tarantino although he seemed to play more on the right earlier in the season but surely could partner up with the very impressive Pablo Sicilia (nearly scored earlier in this game except for a brilliant save by the Rayo goalie & instrumental in our goal putting the Rayo keeper off & thus allowing Zazo to roll the ball into an empty net).

And I'm still not sold on Kike Lopez, he is busy & tricky but not enough end product to his game for my money. For some reason one of my fav players Victor Bravo seems to be out of favor with the new coach, would much rather see him on the left than Kike L (or maybe even Ferran Tacon although he can be a bit uneven & frustrating)

Fine win for Tenerife over Rayo b who have been in the higher part of the table for most of the season.

Goals by Zaso and Llorente. The Llorente one in the last minute to seal the victory was pleasing for me as to see a right back making that run so late on can make the differance.

Bring on SS de Los Reyes now Wednesday night! They drew at home to Real Madrid Castilla despite being deep in the relegation mire. They will come here for a battle Sunday after that great result for them. Should be a good game.

Yes, great win & hugely important 3 points. The performance wasn't spectacular by any means, the second half was pretty poor overall. Rayo only threatened from mistakes by CDT, after a poor clearance by Sergio & later after Zazo got caught in possession. With better finishing Rayo could have equalized but aside from that I felt CDT was the better team & deserved all 3 points. RM Castilla only drew so we are back in the hunt for top spot as well & surely Rayo B are out of the chase for a playoff spot with this loss.

Man of the match for me by some distance: Pablo Sicilia. Rock solid in defense & a big threat upfront on set pieces, great to see him back in our colours. For me he is of La Liga quality, if someone like Marc Bertran (last season's CDT right back & captain) is a regular starter for Osasuna surely Pablo could do a similar job. But La Liga's loss is most definitely our gain. One can only wonder how many more points we would have now had he been fit all season, he is that good in my book....

These lower league Spanish refs are a joke with the way they produce yellow cards. Close to 10 yellows in a game that wasn't even close to being dirty, ridiculous. Feels like the ref gave a yellow for every slightest thing. They should take a few Premier League officiating classes to see how it is supposed to be done....

I dont know where you saw 10 yellows but never mind.
The First half the team played well and the second they wobbled a bit to start with but except one play Rayo never looked likely to score.

Just watched today's game from sunny Scotland.Good win agree referee was an absolute joke just as bad as referees in Scotland.
Thanks again Chris for the ticket for the game two weeks ago against Real Madrid Castilla. Hope to see you for play offs when I am back over in June.

Night game on wed is a very much win game now. The basics is to start with the same team that started today, with a good home crowd in full voice, 3 points is well within our grasp. RMC v Leganes, Coruxo v Lugo and Albacete v Ath Madrid B. Good chance here to stay on RMC tails and maybe put some distance between the chasing pack. Vamos Tenerife.
