forum member GOLDENMANIAC has a website here (http://www.diana-mcglone.com/), for more info, but basically you have to pay it yearly, and they're starting to 'catch up' with non-payers.

We used GoldenManiac for our non letting tax .
Diana filled in all the forms we just signed and paid the bill at the bank

If you go to the ONE STOP PROBLEM SHOP web site it shows you how the tax is calculated.
It is based on the "Ratable Value" of the property.
If you are buying a prop you should find out all the costs that you will incurr which is not usually mentioned when you buy.

If a property has been revalued since 1994 (and most have) the amount payable is the Valor Catastral (rateable value) x 24% x 1.1% i.e roughly 250 euros per 100,000 euros.
