ON 27th March 1977 one of the most tragic aviation accidents in history took place here in Tenerife in a collision between two Boeing 747īs on the runway at Los Rodeos airport. remember well saw the pam am flight coming in from las palmas was stitting on the beach at san andres tragic

We were here but I was little
I just remember the Hulabaloo as everyone had to go home via Las Palmas Although by the time we went home the were flying from Los Rodeos again.

My first wife wife and I were in the air 20 minutes away from supposed landing at LR and obviously diverted although we did fly over the general area of SC!

wow i didn't know that:( i know that one of my best friends has never flown again because he was on a flight from tenerife to manchester in the 80's and they had an emergency landing:(

The Soviet Union launches the first animal into space—a dog name Laika—aboard the Sputnik 2 spacecraft. Laika, part Siberian husky, lived as a stray on the Moscow streets before being enlisted into the Soviet space program.
