There are several including myself. There are are quite a few Amatuers in Tenerife, just got to keep an ear/eye open for them.

I'm an ex-EA8 Amateur. Have the diplomas but don't renew the licence anymore nor use the station.

It was a great hobby and I was most active in CW (morse).

Now use Skype instead. :)

I'm an ex too - I didn't renew in the days when you had to.

My call sign was actually my surname (zero being an O for oscar)

I always bring a radio to Tenerife such as my Vx3 or Kenwood Thf7 to listen to the airband .

I'm a VK2, but I let it lapse. I find the internet more exciting.

I used to do a lot of SWL too, but short Wave broadcasting is now dying out. It's no longer a cost-efficient way for governments to disseminate their propaganda.

John01, do you know which island the photo on the QSL card is from? I don't recognise it from the only islands I know (Tenerife, La Gomera, Lanzarote).

I see plenty of yagis on top of houses in the spanish-speaking parts of the island, so I think there are lots of hams around.
