Lower altitude coverage of commercial aircraft in and out of Tenerife south airport has been improved by the addition of another receiver station.
Before, coverage down the south west of the island was limited to above 8000 feet. Now it is possible to track planes down to just a few feet in many cases i.e. landing at Tenerife south .
Flightradar24.com is also available as an Android or iPod app .

As the radar images are typically in real time , it can be useful when picking up friends from the airport , or identifying commercial aircraft overhead .
