Being Self employed doesn't differentiate between part time or full time

You'd be paying around €270 per month if you worked 1 minute or 720 hours a month

No wonder the black economy thrives in Tenerife :spin:

The MINIMUM is 256€ a month. You CAN get a discount. I think you have to be 35 or under for this. Depending on your job as self-employed, you may be able to waiver the modelo 130/131. I used to be able to do this. It saves a fortune if you can.

See my other thread about employing my partner, as we are in the same boat. I am Autnomo (self-employed) and we need to have him legal too, in order to cover some of my work, or maybe be in a position to take more on, but to pay a whole extra payment for the privilege is not worth it to us, so either I work all the hours that god sends and he does nothing, or we do it illegally... would prefer not to do the latter, but as kathml rightly points out, sometimes the system here give you no option but to work with black money... and no wonder the government are losing so much in tax revenue due to illegal workers. :(

I think the Payments depend on age as mine is 274 a month.
As everyone else has said not surprised spains in the **** its in
as how many autonomos can afford this with tax, retentions, gestors fees not to mention costs of
running a business. Go after those paying no social security and no tax not those
who are already paying more than enough.

I think mines about 270€ plus gestor around 100€. After that I budget 20% ish for tax depending on the time of year - later I budget more. Well over 1,000€ a month to be legal in my profession (unless you dont declare sales which I know a lot dont....)

It really isnt great for new start ups...!

Outrageous overhead for a small business...in any country.

I was self employed as an entertainer when I first arrived here 18 years ago and was working just to pay my dues.

After a year I changed my permit to an employed persons (residencias were slightly different then) and straight away, with an employers contract I was quids in.

One more reason why you can not compare prices in the UK with here.

Most and many professions here have completely different costings then that of the UK, it's just some people base Tenerife as being really cheap because the beer and fags are.

Try purchasing wood and metal for starters
