http://news.sky.com/home/business/article/16205274

QUOTE: Iberia pilots are protesting against the airline's new budget offshoot airline, Iberia Express, which began flying on March 25.

They have vowed to strike every Monday and Friday until July 20 - a total of 30 days.

Thankfully, no flights to or from Tenerife (or other Canarian/Baleric islands) are affected
A list of the flights cancelled for 13 and 16 April can be found HERE (https://www.iberia.com/OneToOne/v3/cargarDetalleEmergencias.do?IdEmergencyDetail=5401 62845&BV_SessionID=@@@@0195832449.1334050244@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccekadfggiemjhicfngcfkmdfhmdfon.0&tabId=3) in the Ultimas Noticias section

For me one of the points is that airlines like Iberia and BA fly uneconomic routes which Ryanair and Easyjet don't. So, if there's no Iberia scheduled flights from some wild outposts (ditto BA), then some places will be completely cut off. It's a public service in a way.

It's the pilots of Iberia, not Iberia Express that are on strike :) Several flights a day from the North (TFS) and one from the South (TFS) to Madrid.

BA flights (out of Madrid, Barcelona etc) were not affected during the last round of strikes by the pilots even though they have the same holding company (IAG) as owner.

Next step is everyone moves to major towns in order to survive. No, not everyone because it won't matter to the rich. But enough people to cause some problems. Isn't this is what is happening in China?

not picking holes but IAG is ´´the company´´ the airlines are just parts of it . i am just saying lots of eggs in that basket now..come a long way since the british shot down a IBERIA aircraft

come

BMI about to be another egg in that basket ... for the moment, the brands are separate, just the same boss, an Irishman with a different style to O'Leary, but just as tough :)

well the company that makes the IPOD and the IPAD
FOXCONN make it on one site where they employ 240,000 people in one place
they have there own fire service, airport hospitals ...shape of things to come

if you live in the sticks in england and you want electric you have to pay the FULL VALUE
same for internet , i have customers in UK with dial up and they been told they aint getting anymore

(watch out for the queen of threads -- offf with the topic !!!!)

Are those Chinese the ones who keep committing suicide?! Completely off topic now.

If your customers have dial-up they are a little bit lucky. In the more remote areas of the Canary Islands the conditions for connecting a landline are so complicated and expensive that they are just impossible to achieve.

i dont know of a úrbano´ area that dont have a phone service and 1mb ADSL i exclude the large national park areas and the forests ON TENERIFE
i live 900m up and have just had my speed doubled to 6mb and once got 12mb .
the trouble with your island it really is behind and it cant be easy

i suspect as a percentage the uk rate is higher then the rate in FOXCONN

We are way behind here, you're quite right but we do have several Iberia flights each week to Madrid which is where I came in much earlier in the thread.

(I'm afraid the point of the video completely passed me by but it is unusually early in the morning for me to be up).
