There's a great English-language website provided by the Spanish government that provides information on the state of the Spanish economy.

http://www.thespanisheconomy.com/en-GB/Paginas/home.aspx

There's lots of useful information there, especially for anyone running a business & employing people in Spain.

There's a recent presentation covering a range of things regarding economic reform at: http://www.thespanisheconomy.com/SiteCollectionDocuments/en-gb/Economic%20Outlook/120316%20Economic%20Reforms.pdf

Highlights of this:

They're looking to recover €8bn euros from tax evasion
From Q2 2008 to Q4 2009 wages per employee almost tripled whilst employment and GDP collapsed
The old temporary contracts are bad for the economy (no, really?)
Planned removal of opening licenses for new businesses!

If you're interested at all in the Spanish economy, this site and the documents available on it are worth a look.

IŽll have a good look through that. I was very interested in these sorts of sites in the UK - taxation, accountancy, regulation etc but much harder to get the info here in Spain.
