UK Driving Licence

Does anyone know if you must put P plates on a car here in Tenerife if you have passed your English Driving Licence test within the last 12 months?

For a UK licence there is nothing needed to be displayed, however the minimum age that you are able to hold a car driving licence in spain is 18 years old, so any 17 year old holding a UK licence would be unable to drive. When a Spanish test is passed an L plate is displayed in the rear of the car for the first year as restrictions apply.
