Día del Trabajo (Labour Day)
public holiday in Spain
source : http://calendar.retira.eu/public-holidays/spain/2012/ :D
another source : http://www.bicentenario.gob.mx/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=918:01-de-mayo-dia-del-trabajo-&catid=118:mayo&Itemid=217
There are, however plenty of sources for both spellings / versions plus others, so it's not really of mass importance in the grand scheme of things...
Long live the pedants. :lol: :bolt:

Thanks all! I did google the bank holidays but wanted to confirm as some seem to be regional rather than National! :)

If you often shop in Mercadona, you can see on their board listed the days when they are closed. That is always a great reminder for bank holidays....I just never remember them....
