What are the expenses of owning a holiday apartment in Tenerife?

Thinking of buying a holiday apartment in Tenerife as we visit as often as 6 times a year, would the expenses be costly, I understand there is tax to pay if we rent it out while we are not using it.
Anyone help with this?

Hi, we did the same 5 years ago. We wish we had done it years ago. We don't regret, even now. We bought in Puerto, and am pleased to say prices of similar apartments in our complex have not reduced, as those on the mainland have.
