SUNDAY JUNE 3rd - kick off 6pm

Play Off Semi-Final 1st Leg
Linense vs CD Tenerife

Live on TV Canaria

As you can see in the picture the stadium is located in the shadows of Gibraltar. I have always asked the club to play in the UK but didīnt expect this to be their reply! "Badalona" as the nickname of the club goes, have a "Guiri" Fan Club. They have invited down for the game some members of the Malaga International Fan Club and wnated to meet with us but unfortuenatly our trip has been cancelled.

0-1 to CDT at Half Time.

Goal scored by the home team's keeper!, so own goal. Kike L was played through, he rounded the keeper & tried to pull it back but the keeper kicked it into his own goal somehow. The stream has been hopeless, a few seconds of feed for half a minute worth of buffering so have no idea how the game has been. But an away goal is always valuable as we saw last round so so far so good!

0-1 to CDT the Final Score.

Great result which sets the home game up nicely, although having been one man up for the last 20 mins or so it would have been fantastic with another away goal. Our head coach got sent off (presumably for saying hijo de la p* once too many...) so that's a bit of a minus. Sergio with another great save late on to keep the advantage.

great result even if it was an own goal a wins a win just hope we can build on it next week another goal or 2 would put real pressure on linense then its all about the final and hopefully back up with the sort of big boys

The result is all the matters at this stage. The away goal was crucial and to win the game is a bonus. Obviously everyone this week has to not get dragged into the euforia as we still have 90 mins to play and an early goal next Sunday by Linense will change everything.

The crowd can push CDT onto a goal next week which will more or less kill off the tie. Itīs going to be a hell of an atmosphere in Popular Baja!

Great result. Did anyone else think that the ref was abysmal. The amount of fouls he give against Tenerife was ridiculous.
Hopefully a better ref on Sunday.

Well done CDT i thought they played from the start a lot better then other games away from home.
Looked like the home team had a good turn out ground looked full.
Anyone know how many were at the game?

Two very good late saves from the keeper to insure we took away the win.........cant wait til sunday will be bringing some more fans (5 more) to help get behind the team this week.

Why were the police taking our flags down at the start of the game?

All in all a great display from CDT and one i am sure we can build on later this week.

The crowd was around 10,000 YG. It was a "hostile" atmosphere from word go but that was to be expected at a small club especially in Andalucia where the support is more ferocious than other parts of Spain. Apparently the Tenerife fans needed a police escort to leave the area as quite a few home supporters were waiting outside for them.

Not sure about why the police were taking down Tenerife flags. But either as some were the Canarian Independance Flag (some clubs/police do not allow them as we found out at Real Madrid B game last September) or it could have been they were simply covering advertising boardings. Probably a bit of both as I did not see any Canarian flags after.

The club sent the police over to move the signs and even when we offered to uncover the publicity we weren't allowed to keep them.
It is the first game I have been to where I was quite happy to stay in the stadium after the game. That said I am not about to let 2 dozen stupid thugs spoil what was an outstanding day. We were superbly treated where ever we went. We had lunch as a group of 17 with a mixture of CDT fans from all over Spain all with a story of how they came to be there.
We then met up about 30 of us in the club hotel and saw the players on the bus. Others were in the stadium to meet our players and the 30 of us marched across town singing as we went. We met up with some of their Fans who were marching and singing but we waited to allow them to go in front. No trouble at all.
The police caught up with us shortly after and we were escorted to the stadium and inside. I needed to get a scarf and was then taken back outside to one of the stands again no problem.
In the stands we were surrounded but there was little hostility.
There will always be a few and towards the end of the game we had bottles thrown at us but the police had things under control.
About 30 mins after the game we walked back to the club hotel with no bother
We were there as the players arrived back and there was a great atmosphere.
It was a great trip and even allowing for the 16 hours we spent in the car over the last 40 hours I would do it again any time. I am a little tired today but the number of happy fans in the shop this morning has helped with that
