Can you get morphine patches on the EHIC card as an emergency in Tenerife?

My wife is awaiting an operation but has been told by the social that her cover has run out,she needs an S1 form which she is waiting for,does anyone know if she can get morphine patches on an EU card as an emergency.

The problem you will have getting the patches on her EU card may be that she is showing in the system as having had cover which has now run out.If she had never been on the system she would have had a better chance of getting away with her EU card.How long will it be before her S1 arrives,have they given you an idea? If her needs are urgent then you could get a private prescription from Dr.De la Flor but you would have to pay both for the presciption and then the medication. Please let the forum know if you need help or translation assistance, if your wife is in pain.
