What route does the mini train take around Las Americas, Tenerife?

Hi There

Does anyone have any info regarding the Mini Train that goes around Las Americas.

Where does it start/finish. What route does it take? How much is it? How long are you on there?

I have been coming to Tenerife now for over 10 years and my daughter is desperate to go on it.

It's always been one of those ' yeah we will do it but not today' sort of things and I think now after all this time I should make the effort and take her on her.

I know you can pick it up at Salytien behind the Casino -think it´s about €7

I think they also pick up just down from the"Giddy Goose" outside the amusement arcade.

We went on it once years ago and it was good,as JJ says the Salytien area by Terrazza Del Mare! The drivers are really good considering the tight spaces and bad parking etc! Just found this video on you tube...After 3 minutes 18 secs you see it go past "The Pub" Torviscas! At the end of the video it will give you options to click on the screen to see it go down to the marina at Puerto Colon etc!

P.S Journey takes about an hour well worth it!

The train starts just outside the amusement arcade just down from Mama Rosas. Last time we went on it in 2009 it was 9 euros each.

I have never been on the mini train but I have visited most of the places on its route.The Pub as well as Playa Olid apartments are shown very well.I think perhaps on my next visit to Tenerife we will rent apartments from Playa Olid and use the Pub as well as one of the best Chinese Restaurants just down from the Pub who serve fantastic meals with very good service and not too costly.I have stayed in Playa Olid a few times and had some good times,cleaned every day with fresh towels and sheets every day.Its being renovated at the moment.Must remember to tell the grandchildren that they will be going on the tren...............

You can get the train at Colon 2 apartments on the hour

Just got back from PDLA and there are 2 trains. One from the amusement arcade (9 Euros, 5 for children) and one from near the casino (don't know the price).

I call it Walley-Trolley...I always wondered why people were not smiling on it, now I know, after years of wanting to go on it, I did last year! my husband refused...It was very bumpy a sort of bone shaker and the fumes from the engine was awful, because I was on my own it kept sliding along the seat, the driver was going very fast, in fact too fast and I did not realise he would go on the main road and took the bend to get on it at such a high speed it frightened the life out of me, either I was the Walley or HE was off his TROLLEY!! my the time I got back to the trolley stop everyone got off the trolley brushed their clothes down adjusted their hair, then and only then did we all laugh (probably with nerves) I looked at the driver and just said "you are crazy" you could have killed us all!" :eek:I would not take a child this I would not recommend an adult either, nor anyone with a back problem!
