Does Barclays in UK have any connection with Barclays in Tenerife

I'm a bit confused about this as I have been told that Barclays here and in Spain do not have any connection with Barclays in UK...not clued up about these things. Anybody know???

Barclays bought out a Spanish bank many years ago, so although it uses the Barclays logo, it has no direct connection with Barclays UK

It is part of Barclays overseas, that has its HQ in Gibralter. So no direct connection, but a connection, although a convoluted one, probably more of a tax fiddle.

There is a connection, Barclays Plc owns Barclays in Spain.
