I never really appreciated how talented Eric Sykes was until I watched his shows on Gold recently.......a true comic genius with an incredible sense of comic timing!! He brought laughter into many people's lives.

He overcame his deafness to be one of the most-loved comic actors on television. He was also a highly respected scriptwriter. His sight was failing him as he got older but it never prevented him from doing those things he did best. He will be remembered long after many others have long gone.

It's true what you say - he coped so well with deafness that'd you'd have been very hard-pushed to even know it....unless you'd read about it before! LOL
