Hi, can anyone recommend a good and reliable online money exchanger? We need to transfer two seperate amounts of money from the uk to here. We hear that you get a better rate than just from your bank to your bank over here. What fees do they take and how safe is it?
Cheers

I've lived here for almost 10 years and have used all of the following, each on several occasions , they are all safe.

http://www.currenciesdirect.com/
http://www.xe.com/
http://www.torfx.com/
http://www.moneycorp.com/?source=wcu

obviously they are in competition with one another so rates will vary but all will offer a better rate than any bank

Hi I have set up an account with SMART CURRENCY EXCHANGE from UK to TENERIFE.
All I do is telephone their UK number and quote my personal ref number.
I get a rate there and then, which is a better rate, and then I transfer online to
their bank in IRELAND. Say I do it Thursday Morning, then it is received Sat in TENERIFE
cleared. AND all this for just 5 GBP each transfer. I do it monthly, they advertise on this forum
and are well recommeded by myself ...........

Do different banks in Tenerife vary on the charge for receiving monies, or are they pretty much the same?

what about transfering sterling to a sterling account in tenerife then getting the bank to change it into euros...my bank says you will get 1.26 at the moment if you do this. A currency exchanger will give just slightly above this also.

I've been using MoneyCorp for the past few months: they've been brilliant and given me the best rates I could have got anywhere.
