Watching Royal Ascot on the News with all the Hats and Outfits really made me miss going again this year.

Between 8 and 15 of us used to have a girlie day out there every year, we used to spend months getting the right outfit, hats and accessories. We really used to spoil ourselves that day, well actually our husbands did because they used to foot the bill:lol:. We used to hire a Limo for the day, order food that we had caterers prepare and plenty of Champagne which we normally started drinking en route at about 8 a.m.:lol:We always had tickets to the Royal Enclosure and got to see all the outfits the Celebs and Royals wore at close quarters, we really used to have a fantastic day out while the husbands took care of the kids. All the years we went we only one time when it rained and we had to spend the day in the Champagne bar....well we didn't want to get our outfits/hats wet and we didn't even see a horse  but still a great day out.

What did or do you do to spoil yourself

Ascot stunning day out, if you haven't been ladies (or gents) go it is super. Other great race days are Royal Windsor and Goodwood, South East that is.
If anyone wants a nice day of difference (ladies) do a chocolate spa day.

My treat to myself is to get to Tenerife every 5-6 weeks. Even if just for the weekend. I work long and hard in between, and getting to LA and blowing off steam is the perfect antidote to that. :-)

Just a thought Jackie ...........why not sort out an "Ascot Ladies Day" out in tenerife you could all dress for the occassion ,have a meal watch the races and you could incorperate raising funds for a charity of your choice .Not like the real thing but might be a good way of being or giving the feeling of "Royal Ascot "
One year during a lenghty stay in hospital we did this on one of the wards .......it was a real laugh and gave a much needed tonic to many .

Why has this thread been moved to 'Sport'??? yes it mentions Royal Ascot but the point of it was asking what people have done or do to spoil themselves???

Spoiling others is sport.
