Workers must now provide a job offer letter in Spanish to obtain a social security number.

Self employed as always must provide their Hacienda documentation.

EU Pensioners must provide their S1 health entitlement documentation

Goldemaniac, once again, you are a star.... albeit in the case we saw your post too late .... my son got a job offer yesterday WOOP WOOP his first ever job, although probably only for a month or so, as he goes back to college in September.

So the hotel said, go to Seg.Soc. in Los Cristianos, but when he got there they informed him he needed said letter from the hotel....... FAIL.ORG LOL he'd just spent nearly an hour on the bus.....

So by the time his dad picked him up to take him back to Guia de Isora, he would never have got back in time to the Social office, so instead of starting his training on Sunday, he's not not starting till Tuesday.... but he's got a job WOOPYYYY :D

hiya, is the above information still correct? Do workers still need to provide a job offer letter in Spanish to obtain a social security number

Yes, the letter must be in Spanish contain the Full name, address and NIE of the worker and for the Employer their NIF/CIf /NIE , Full name social security number, registered address and address where job is if different and be up to date.

If the employer has a stamp put that on the letter as well as the signature.

The start date should be " as soon as the employee obtains their SS number"
