The Guardia Civil have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with a robbery with violence which took place in a house on Crab Island, Los Gigantes.
The thief entered the house in broad daylight yesterday morning, while the British owner was still inside. He threatened her with a knife and took jewellery worth around 250 euros.
The robber and an accomplice who was waiting outside in a getaway car were finally intercepted by officers on the road to La Esperanza.
The thief was taken into custody but his accomplice, who is still being sought by officers, managed to escape
