Read this today in the Islands Connections newspaper... had to share it.
"A drunk driver who decided to take his car for a spin in La Laguna could not have picked a worse place to show off his driving prowness.
The man drove his car through the gates of the Guardia Civil barracks, which is home to the distrct traffic branch, and proceeded to speed around the courtyard, to the amazement of the officers who ran out to see what as happening.
Quick thinking guards shut the gates to prevent his escape and e was eventually brought to a stop.
The 25 yeard old from Tegueste was breathalysed and tested positive for alcohol. He was charged with dangerous driving, being drunk at the wheel and resisting arrest."
