Hi
I'm just back from Tenerife and it was wonderfull. We dit a lot of walkings and hikings. But we are still looking for a good map or guide with the walking or hiking tours. Does anyone know if it exists and where I can buy it?

They used to sell good hiking maps, with all the trails highlighted, at "The Book Swap" in Los Cristianos. I'm not sure if the shop is still there ... maybe someone else will know? xx

You could try a company of map makers called Freytag and Berndt.

There are many walking guides available for Tenerife, Local resident Cyberhiker has produced an excellent guide for the South of Tenerife entitled " Discovering Tenerife on Foot" available from his website or if you prefer you can buy individual walks. Discovery Walking Guides have also a comprehensive guide which includes many maps. The Rother Walking guide by Klaus and Annette Wolfsperger covers the whole of the island. The last two titles are available on Amazon.

The online maps at openstreetmap.org (http://openstreetmap.org) include virtually all the walking routes on Tenerife. I pre-load them onto my phone and use them with the GPS when I'm hiking.

The map linked by Su1 is OK, but it doesn't include enough of the Teno peninsular for my liking.

For guidebooks, it's hard to beat the Rother Walking Guide (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tenerife-finest-mountains-Rother-Walking/dp/3763348093) which describes 70 fabulous walks. However, the walk descriptions are translated from the German edition and are sometimes a little awkward to read.

If you like your walk descriptions carefully written in good english, I recommend the two Sunflower books. The first is for north and central Tenerife, the second is for south Tenerife and La Gomera:
