I am sure there is a list of the events and fiestas somewhere on the forum, but I can't find them.
Can anyone help me please?

I need to know if there is any fiestas/events on from September to December 2012.

Preferably in the north of the island as we live in Puerto, however we will have a car for the duration.

We have friends coming over and I would like to have something arranged for them.

There are fiestas in eash municipality and village and there are on all the time all over the island. The best bet is to go to each municipality's web page and look for a list of the local fiestas. It would be way too difficult to have a list on the forum, as it'd need to be constantly updated.

Here's the program for July.

I think they must release them month by month, so you'd have to google 'programa de fiestas (septiembre/octubre/diciembre) puerto de la cruz tenerife' nearer the time. :)

Not much between those dates but here is a list

Original post 1 January: The calendar of public holidays in the Canaries has been published (see HERE), with the following the official fiestas (bank holidays) for Tenerife in 2012:

6 January, Epiphany
2 February, Virgen de la Candelaria
5 & 6 April, Easter
1 May, Fiesta del Trabajo
30 May, Día de Canarias
15 August, Asunción de la Virgen
12 October, Spain Day
1 November, Todos los Santos
6 December, Día de la Constitución
8 December, Inmaculada Concepción
25 December, Christmas Day

The above 12 holidays are the 11 fiestas for the Canaries together with the extra day which each island enjoys which, in Tenerife’s case, is 2 February for the island’s patron saint day, Virgen de la Candelaria.

In addition, each municipality will have its own two days, bringing the total number of fiestas for every part of the Canaries to 14. two fiestas for you in icod de los vinos, 2nd week in september, dance of the diablo y diabla, will try & get you a date for this nearer the time, & one not to be missed, 29 & 30th november fiestas de san andres, tablas de san andres, this one is pure madness, they race down the steep hills of icod on home made sledges made of old wooden doors or the such like, very dangerous & often a few broken limbs at the end of it, much drinking , partying & merriment, one not to be missed, will let you know if i hear of any more

Hi Tracy Hampshire, I did look at this one and thought it may be fun. We don't arrive in Tenerife till 27th Sept. so end November might be a good time for our visitors, I also think that is the time of the chestnut roasting around the harbour in Puerto. There was a real buzz to the town around that time last year.
Great if you hear anymore about the Icod one.
thanks Curriegirl
