Unfortunately a friends wife has passed away, they own a property here together and we need to know what and who he has to inform etc.
Any information will be very much appreciated.
Thanks.

Contact Emma at Motorworld. She is a translator ( fully legal ) and has dealt with many bereavements and the relevant paperwork on properties death duties etc. You will find her details in the link in my signature . she will deal with anything that you may need to do .

If the person passed away in Spain this is also useful http://ukinspain.fco.gov.uk/en/help-for-british-nationals/when-things-go-wrong/death-brit

Did the person live here and do you have to organise a burial? If so, then the usual place is at the crematorium (Tanatoria) in La Laguna. If you contact one of the British churches, they tend to be very helpful and supportive with these processes.

If you are dealing with the estate of the deceased, then the first question has to be did he or she have a will?

Thank you all for the helpful information.
My friend died in the UK, they have owned a property here for more than 25 years, and I understand they have wills etc. It was just where to go first.
Thanks again.

I would contact the gestor that has the will. They should be able to help in the first instance. You may need a translator...
