Great start to the season for the Tenerife Ultra's *coughs* 80 points,it would have been even more if i hadn't watched the Chelsea vs Man City game the week before, I had Ivanovic and Hazard in but changed them after Ivanovic got a red card which i thought would carry on into the season and Hazard had a poor game and looked lightweight, how wrong i was,5 bloody assists :redcard::lol:....Good luck to everyone in week 2 :raspberry::raspberry::wink:

Gameweek 1 is finally done and dusted as we look to the upcoming schedules and reassess our Fantasy options for the coming weeks. :tiphat:

The Strong

Tottenham

Five home matches in the next seven Gameweeks is sure to see plenty of investment come Tottenham’s way. Andre Villas-Boas’ side play host to (WBA, NOR, QPR, AVL) between now and Gameweek 8 and with a trip to Reading also on the agenda, the potential for points is enticing.

Villas-Boas’ decision to omit Jan Vertonghen from his starting line-up at Newcastle suggests the full-backs may be the safest route into Spurs’ backline until a more settled pattern emerges, though there’s no denying the Belgian’s attacking threat when he nails down a regular role. In midfield, Gareth Bale is perhaps the most secure option. Gylfi Sigurdsson started at the expense of Rafael Van der Vaart last weekend but made way for the Dutchman midway through the second period, suggesting they are likely to prove detrimental to one another’s game time in “the hole”. Emmanuel Adebayor has just 2% ownership right now in FPL but with a lack of pre-season minutes under his belt, there are question marks as to whether he’ll be immediately thrust into the first XI, with Jermain Defoe set to profit if Villas-Boas eases the new boy back into the fold.

Swansea

Similar to Spurs, Swansea play in front of their own support five times in the next seven and their main attacking assets have already picked up major investment of the back of the 5-0 win at QPR. Michu has risen 0.2 in value and could well be set for another price hike before Saturday’s deadline – at 6.7 right now, he still looks strong value ahead of a schedule that sees (WHM, SUN, EVE, RDG, WIG) all arrive at the Liberty.

Nathan Dyer’s two-goal display at Loftus Road has helped him acquire plenty new investors and with Scott Sinclair edging his way towards the exit door, Dyer looks an assured starter under Michael Laudrup. Danny Graham, at 6.0, offers Fantasy managers a strong mid-price option over the next couple of months, while there are plenty of options at the back to consider. Michel Vorm’s save points will always come to the rescue should Swansea concede, while new boy Chico already looks a strong threat from Jonathan De Guzman’s set-pieces.

Man United

United’s prospects look strong in the short-term, though their fixtures do take a turn for the worse from Gameweek 5. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side face (FUL, sot, WIG) in their next three matches and seem set to benefit at both ends of the pitch as they look to immediately bounce back from Monday’s defeat at Everton.

David De Gea’s Goodison heroics is surely set to see him continue between the sticks – at 6.0 he looks an assured pick within the United defence, given the current injury situation. Nemanja Vidic, at 7.0, seems the only guaranteed starter in the back-four, with new boy Alexander Buttner pushing Patrice Evra for game time at left-back. Shinji Kagawa shone in his debut and was handed 90 minutes by Ferguson – a suggestion that the Japanese star’s role is key to their attacking ploys. The former Dortmund man could well be the safest option in the midfield at the moment, with Antonio Valencia starting the last game at right-back and Nani failing to sparkle at Goodison. Up front, Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie tussle for our affections; the potential for points for either or both is substantial over these next few matches.

Aston Villa

Paul Lambert has been handed three home games in the next five as he looks to banish last week’s defeat at West Ham to memory. Lambert’s Norwich offered us a strong source of goals last term and the prospects of his key attacking assets will be boosted by a schedule that see Villa entertain (EVE, SWA, WHM) between now and Gameweek 6.

Darren Bent is the obvious option – priced at 8.5 and with spot-kick duties in his locker, he could prove a decent differential, with just 2.5% ownership thus far. Charles N’Zogbia also comes into the equation; the 6.5 priced midfielder has been the main man for set-pieces and corners so far under Lambert and should thrive under the new manager’s more offensive tactics. Stephen Ireland’s role in “the hole” and 5.5 FPL price tag means he could be one to consider. At the back, while many will be reluctant to get on board due to Norwich’s poor defensive returns under Lambert in the previous campaign, Ciaran Clark’s aerial ability offers a strong goal threat from set-pieces – at 4.5 he could prove to be a decent shout.

Also Consider

Sunderland – having ground out a gritty, if somewhat fortuitous, goalless draw at Arsenal, Martin O’Neill’s men now play three times at the Stadium of Light in the next five Gameweeks. Carlos Cuellar, at 4.5 in FPL, affords the cheapest route into the Black Cats’ backline, while Simon Mignolet should offer save points if they concede while playing host to (RDG, LIV, WIG). With trips to Swansea and West Ham also on the horizon, James McClean is a strong midfield option and if the mooted move for Steven Fletcher comes through, the assist potential of Seb Larsson and Stephane Sessegnon is set to be boosted.

West Ham – with a clean sheet and a Kevin Nolan goal in their first match, the Hammers will tempt plenty more managers with a strong upcoming run of fixtures. The likes of Jussi Jaaskelainen and Guy Demel, priced at 4.5 and 4.0 respectively, welcome Fulham and Sunderland to Upton Park in the next five, while trips to Swansea, Norwich and QPR may see Nolan benefit once again.

Everton – Buoyed by their win over United, David Moyes’ men will hold little fear despite playing in front of their home support just twice in the next seven. The Toffees pay visit to (avl, wba, swa, wig, qpr) and with Goodison clashes against Newcastle and Southampton, we could see the likes of Leighton Baines, Marouane Fellaini, Steven Pienaar and Nikica Jelavic all amongst the points.

West Brom – Steve Clarke’s side welcome (EVE, RDG, QPR) to the Hawthorns in the next six Gameweeks, offering Liam Ridgewell and co further chance of clean sheets. With trips to Fulham and Villa factored in, the likes of Peter Odemwingie could be set to prosper, while Zoltan Gera (5.0) looks a possible cut-price midfield differential with just 0.9% ownership.

The Weak

Stoke

Having earned a point at Reading in their opener, Tony Pulis’ side are bracing themselves for a run of games that is likely to give Potters fans little to celebrate. The next seven Gameweeks sees Stoke take on Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool and United, with games against Wigan and Swansea offering crumbs of comfort in what is a cruel and unrelenting schedule. Ryan Shawcross and Jon Walters, with 24% and 8.5% ownership in FPL, look unlikely to justify the show of faith over these next couple of months.

Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers’ side will need to quickly pick themselves up from last week’s hammering at the Hawthorns ahead of a difficult next few Gameweeks. While three home matches in four is usually the catalyst for significant Fantasy investment, Liverpool‘s upcoming schedule, which sees City, Arsenal and United all roll up to Anfield between Gameweeks 2-5, is enough to deter the vast majority of backers from getting involved. With a trip to Sunderland also factored in, FPL returns could be hard to come by for owners of Martin Skrtel (9%), Joe Allen (24%) and Luis Suarez (15%).

Norwich

Chris Hughton will be looking to bounce back from a miserable display at Fulham in Gameweek 1 and, while home clashes against QPR and West Ham offer potential, the Canaries face five of last season’s top eight in their next seven matches. Trips to (tot, new, che) look highly unlikely to produce the Fantasy points, while Carrow Road showdowns against Liverpool and Arsenal are anything but straightforward – FPL owners of Grant Holt (8%) and John Ruddy (13%) will have every reason to be worried.

QPR

Mark Hughes has little to smile about after the weekend’s home mauling at the hands of Swansea and, in the short-term at least, the QPR boss won’t have too much cause for optimism. The R’s head to Carrow Road this weekend then follow that up with consecutive clashes against three of last term’s top five (mci, CHE, tot), suggesting the likes of Adel Taarabt and Djibril Cisse could struggle to produce until the fixture list smiles a little kinder.

Also Be Wary Of..

Arsenal – Arsene Wenger’s side have three tricky looking away matches in the next four Gameweeks which may dent how we view their short-term prospects. The Gunners travel to (sto, liv, mci) and while a Gameweek 4 home clash against Southampton looks prosperous, they then welcome Chelsea to the Emirates a couple of weeks later, suggesting that Lukas Podolski and Thomas Vermaelen, with 16.4% and 12.3% ownership respectively, may struggle to produce the goods.

TENERIFE FORUM FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATE (WEEK 2)

Always enjoy doing the Fantasy Football updates and this week is no exception...WOW!! Some managers are really putting there foot on the gas early this year with some astronomical scores coming in...really is good to see guys !!! Top scorers this week in the Tenerife Forum Fantasy Football classic league were yet again TENERIFE ULTRAS managed by the shrewd Al Jay who scored a ridiculously high 83 points (Nice one Al),also hitting the mammoth heights of 83 was Henry's Austin Ice Bats (top man H your bats are certainly flying high this week young man)my own COL NIL SATIS FC scored heavily with 75 points...some scoring that guys ,can this level be kept up??? On the league tables this week we saw a merry go round of players jumping up the table but also a few dropping like flies...:scared:

So the top 6 as we go into week 3 is Tenerife Ultras, followed by COL NIL SATIS FC,Steve Penningtons BUMBLE FC have been consistent and they climb up to 3rd,Henry's ice bats follow closely behind in 4th with Henry's dads Texas Knights jumping up a few spots to 5th,the Untouchables drop to 6th....

At the wrong end of the table we have a few managers being left behind at the minute but a good game week will change all of that...the bottom 3 we have tony pubs landlords 11 alongside Seagulls TFS,with our main struggler Murph's Marauders sitting bottom of the pile....Gah! :redcard:

Keep calm though,it's early early days and as i say,one massive gameweek would see the table blown wide open..

TEAM OF THE WEEK (WEEK 2 LOOKED LIKE THIS)

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/tf3.png

As always some hints and tips for all of our managers will be posted throughout the week, this weeks starter is Market trends.....

The Market Trends

Michu continues to lead the way for transfers in, with over 139,000 Fantasy managers snapping up the Spaniard after he registered 28 points in his opening two matches. The Swansea midfielder has already risen by 0.5 since the start of the season as we scramble to get a piece of the action ahead of a run of games which sees Michael Laudrup’s men play four home matches in the next six Gameweeks. With form and fixtures on his side, the bandwagon shows little sign of slowing – the same applies to Michu’s team mate Nathan Dyer, with over 50,000 bringing in the winger after another assist in the 3-0 win over West Ham highlighted his cut-price potential. Angel Rangel is another big climber after his goal against the Hammers – over 67,000 Fantasy managers have picked up the right-back since the end of Gameweek 2.

With a blank Gameweek on the horizon for Chelsea, 11,000 have transferred out Eden Hazard. On the other hand, the Belgian’s three consecutive double figure points hauls have acquired him over 128,000 new suitors – similarly, Fernando Torres has earned plenty of investment, with over 83,000 managers picking up El Nino. As wildcards are wielded as a result of injuries to the likes of Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney, Torres offers a cheaper option to the Manchester duo, while many feel they simply can’t afford to sit back and watch Hazard’s price continue to escalate; he sits at 9.8 with another rise imminent.

Back-to-back goals from Marouane Fellaini has brought the Everton midfielder plenty of attention ahead of a trip to West Brom. Over 101,000 Fantasy managers have clambered aboard the bandwagon, with the Belgian rising 0.2 to 6.7 since the start of the season. Unsurprisingly, the Aguero and Rooney injuries have had a major knock-on effect on Carlos Tevez and Robin Van Persie. The pair look strong captaincy options for the weekend – Tevez entertains QPR and Van Persie travels to Southampton; so far, they’ve received a combined total almost 206,000 transfers in, with Tevez already up to 9.4 from 9.0 after picking up 18 points in the first two Gameweeks.

No surprise, them, to see Rooney as the most transferred out player this week. Over 197,000 have parted company with the United man after his thigh injury at the weekend – bearing in mind that Aguero is second with 52,000, the Rooney exodus is clearly dramatic and has produced an upturn in ownership for Shinji Kagawa as squads are reassembled – the Japanese star has been drafted in by almost 43,000 ahead of a trip to Southampton and home clash with Wigan.

Elsewhere, aside from Hazard, the Chelsea midfielders are being deserted by considerable numbers. Ramires, Juan Mata, Frank Lampard and Victor Moses have a combined tally of over 132,000 transfers out, with 44,000+ getting rid of Ramires alone. John Terry and Ashley Cole are also victims of the blank Gameweek – a total of 55,000 have shipped the defensive duo, while Man City’s rotation at the back, allied with a lack of clean sheets, is causing plenty concern – Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and Gael Clichy have all seen significant sales ahead of the QPR match.

FANTASY FOOTBALL "DIGEST" From the Fantasy Football Scout

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/ff.jpg

GAMEWEEK 3 ON THE HORIZON..........

The first Digest of the season finds us purring over Chelsea’s new Belgian EDEN HAZARD, throwing admiring glances in the direction of the Liberty Stadium and daring to question Fantasy royalty…
The Player

Eden Hazard is proving impossible to ignore. His first Premier League Goal from the spot against Newcastle represented a milestone and yet Hazard had already cemented a place on our watchlists with a string of assists amidst two dazzling displays prior to Saturday’s game. Six assists in total have lifted Hazard to the top of the points rankings across the games and have left us in little doubt that the Belgian is a rare talent with Fantasy points simply spilling from him.

Hazard always had the potential to establish himself as a Fantasy darling. He arrived at Stamford Bridge off the back of a season for Lille which had seem him fetch 20 goals and 15 assists; clearly that signposted him as a player who could deliver returns on all fronts.

Few will have anticipated the impact that Hazard has made, however. So much is made of the pace and power of the Premier League and yet Hazard’s transition from Ligue 1 has been seamless – his productivity in England similarly spectacular.

Despite facing a blank in Gameweek 3, Hazard goes on attracting new suitors – Fantasy managers intent on benching their new capture, rather than risk his price escalating beyond affordable levels. Those without Hazard at this moment in time will be looking at their budget with some concern, knowing full well that he has become the first player to emerge as an “essential”.

While Fernando Torres does all he can to present an alternative option amongst Chelsea’s new attacking verve, Hazard looks to be the real prize, freeing up a precious forward slot in the process.
The Team

Eight goals scored, none conceded. Against that backdrop, Michael Laudrup’s Swansea are maintaining their expansive football of last season and have added a cutting edge. The goals are flowing at one end, while Michel Vorm remains a formidable barrier in front of a settled and assured back four at the other.

Laudrup’s side have surprised me. I saw a transition phase, a period of settling in while Laudrup’s new signings gelled and the hangover from the departure of Joe Allen and Gylfi Sigurdsson subsided. Neither have surfaced; instead Laudrup appears to have injected new spirit and conjured tactical tweaks that have allowed both Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge to become key figures, rather than peripheral touchline huggers.

Elsewhere, Angel Rangel scored his first Premier League goal on Saturday, helping him to the top scoring mantle in the Gameweek. A polished and skillful full-back, we’ve long backed his potential as a Fantasy asset and the weekend showing may well, at last, be evidence of that materialising. Again, we perhaps only have to look to the belief and systems implemented by Laudrup to find the catalyst for such an upturn.
The Talking Point

It’s ironic that, over the past twelve months, Robin Van Persie has presented Fantasy managers with security, an assurance that, above all others, he’s the best source of returns in a given Gameweek. And yet, Saturday’s first start in United colours, capped by his fine strike after just 10 minutes, has now created uncertainty and insecurity. Fantasy managers will be processing their thoughts, pondering if they can afford to get him or, indeed, afford to be without him.

Van Persie’s price tag is, without question, inflated to the extent that his value – points per million – is a concern. Personally I’ve no argument that Van Persie is overpriced given that his chances of replicating the form that earned him such a price tag look remote.

Having said that, the true value of Van Persie is that he solves the Captaincy conundrum week after week. Certainly, looking at Gameweek 3 ahead, with Chelsea’s Hazard and Torres out of the equation, Van Persie’s appeal and potential impact as an unlikely differential captain, is strong.

Thankfully, for those looking to bide their time, Carlos Tevez has the fixture and the form to present a solution but Van Persie proved last season that his return rate away from home can surpass all others – even an in-form Tevez. That consideration, together with the fact that Van Persie will likely assume spot-kick duties with Wayne Rooney sidelined, could well tip the balance. Indeed, those questioning the merits of Van Persie only have to ponder just how many of those with Wildcards active are set to go forward without the United striker. We’d wager not too many.

TENERIFE FORUM FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATE (GAMEWEEK 3)

Another Gameweek ends and yet again the scoring in the Tenerife Fantasy Football League has hit new heights, the consistency of some players has been quite frankly amazing, some absolute top notch scores being piled in week on week...Gameweek 3 top scorer again was Al Jay and his Tenerife Ultras (absolutely flying this season and another mammoth 84 points) hats off Al Jay,KirstyJays (multiplescorgasms) hit an almighty 77 alongside my team COL NIL SATIS,other top performers were Texas Knights with 76 and Agua Dulce Reds 75...these are unbelievable scores and it is really good to see a lot of managers now making a move up that table...At the wrong end of the table it's SEAGULLS TFS who now sits rock bottom with Murphs marauders up one place, west mids tykesters stays in the bottom 3...

THE SCOUT DIGESTS GAMEWEEK 3 IN FULL

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/ff.jpg

A Gameweek which saw Fantasy managers dealt both the familiar and the unexpected, as a Dutchman shot to prominence and a formerly fragile back four continued to show resilience. We’re now in a two-week limbo, coveting potentially “essential” assets, while failed stars begin to depreciate. There’s plenty to digest…
The Player

It took just two full appearances in a United shirt for Robin Van Persie to turn our Fantasy squads on their heads. A devastating St Mary’s hat-trick hammered home the message that the Dutchman remains every bit as potent in his new surroundings. It also arrived on day that saw Shinji Kagawa provide little evidence that he could be maintained as a supplier of suitable cover within United’s attacking lineup. Factor in the captaincy at home to Wigan next weekend, when both Carlos Tevez and Eden Hazard face tricky away games, and it’s pretty clear that Van Persie’s stock has soared and will go on doing so.

Four goals in two games, with a missed penalty thrown in, is evidence enough to suggest that Van Persie will push his incredible 30-goal tally of last season. There’s little doubt that Sir Alex Ferguson will be putting emphasis on scoring goals and killing teams off given the significance of goal difference in the previous campaign. In addition, United’s fragility at the back seems to ensure that they will need two or three goals every game to ensure victory. The platform is there, then, for Van Persie to provide huge returns for his owners.

With Wayne Rooney sidelined and the likes of Kagawa and Antonio Valencia threatened by rotation and role changes, Van Persie clearly offers not only the most profitable route to United’s attacking returns, but also the most secure.
The Team

While there were several contenders in the Gameweek, notably West Ham and West Brom, it was Arsenal’s victory at Anfield and the key performers on show that perhaps had the biggest impact on our Fantasy seasons.

The emergence of Santi Cazorla as a Fantasy asset was signposted over his two appearances prior to Sunday – any of our members privy to his stats from the Sunderland and Stoke games will have known just how he’s teetered on the edge of strong returns. Anfield saw that potential come to fruition and there’s little doubt that the Spaniard is now firmly in our minds from this Gameweek on.

Lukas Podolski also came out of the shadows to show his worth, delivering a goal and assist haul in the 2-0 win that will rouse some interest. The German is likely to be overlooked in our crowded forward lines, though, in favour of the pivotal Cazorla in midfield.

The foundation for Sunday’s attacking returns was, however, Arsenal’s defence, which has now delivered three consecutive clean sheets. Steve Bould’s appointment as coach can be cited as key to this new resolve and, what’s even more impressive, is that the shut-outs have been achieved without Bacary Sagna, Wojciech Szczesny and Laurent Koscielny – all first choice in their respective positions.

While that’s offered decent short-term value options, owners of Carl Jenkinson and Per Mertesacker will now be anxiously awaiting Wenger’s teamsheet in a fortnight, wondering if their assets will go on delivering value. Sagna was on schedule to return after the international break, while Koscielny and Szczesny were kept on the bench at Anfield. It remains to be seen if Wenger will keep faith in light of the defensive performances so far.

One thing is certain, however – Arsenal’s defence is currently standing alone in terms of form and returns with some coverage looking essential. Thomas Vermaelen is, of course, the jewel in the crown. With goals and bonus likely over the season, already he is looking a stronger option for those holding City and United defenders.
The Talking Point

The international break is a testing time. With three Gameweeks down and a host of talent emerging, Fantasy managers now face a fortnight of deliberation, with patience tested to the full.

While the likes of Van Persie, Carlos Tevez and Eden Hazard look a new powerful holy trinity, it’s left assets such as Gareth Bale and David Silva floundering and their owners surely twitching over the transfer button.

Both Bale and Silva are class players, assured of Fantasy returns over the season but the question remains – just how long to keep the faith while others are stealing a march with form players?

Bale, in particular, along with Steven Gerrard and Luis Suarez, finds himself a key attacking threat but within a side short on confidence and fluidity. Both Tottenham and Liverpool will likely need time to find the form that will see their players deliver on their potential and, in the meantime, there appears to be assured routes for returns elsewhere – across all the price brackets.

The volatile Fantasy Premier League prices is driving increased transfer activity and it’s genuinely difficult to sit still on proven, but out of form assets, when viable alternatives are spiraling out of sight.

In many ways, Van Persie’s showing will have made the decision easier. Wildcards will surely be thrown at the “problem”, with United’s striker the key target. That will surely see continued sales of Bale, Silva and even Kagawa who, overnight, appears to have slipped in favour as a result of Van Persie’s output.

Showing patience will, undoubtedly be costly in terms of team value. In the short-term, it could also cost points unless Bale and Silva can quickly wake from their slumber to challenge the protagonists so far.

I, for one, adopted a policy of patience with my squad last season – but then I had the comfort of a lineup based on a free Gameweek 2 wildcard which could anticipate the early transfer trends and form. Having twitched severely on Sunday, I can empathise with the dilemma faced over the break and fear that we’ll see many squads scrapped and templates formed that could well take a month or so to break up. Those who “stick” will be doing so in hope that the courage of their conviction pays off, to almost earn them a “differential”, but it won’t be a decision made with any degree of comfort.

After the unwanted fortnight’s interruption for international fixtures, we’re now in the home straight and edging ever closer to Gameweek 4. As always, this affords us the opportunity to give the fixtures a thorough frisking, assessing the upcoming schedules over the next few Gameweeks or so:

The Strong

Everton

David Moyes’ side will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat at the Hawthorns last time round and, with a strong run of fixtures to come, the foreseeable future looks positive. The Toffees welcome (NEW, SOT, LIV) to Goodison in the next six and bearing in mind they returned a clean sheet in their only home game thus far against United, Moyes will be far from apprehensive.

With trips to Wigan, QPR and Swansea also on the agenda, faith in Everton’s assets is likely to take a turn for the good. Leighton Baines is the obvious candidate – priced at 7.1 in both FPL and the Sky Sports game, his set-pieces and spot-kicks, allied with the possibility of clean sheet returns, will see him earmarked by many. Steven Pienaar and Marouane Fellaini offer the threat from midfield, while Nikica Jelavic is likely to be afforded plenty of chances as the lone forward in the 4-5-1 formation.

Tottenham

It’s not been the easiest of starts under Andre Villas-Boas but Spurs still have reasons to be optimistic. Despite harvesting just two points and no clean sheets from their first three Gameweeks, the London outfit continue to be handed opportunities to get their season up and running, with (rdg, QPR, AVL) in the next four.

Gareth Bale has already suffered a drop in price in FPL and is down to 14% ownership – a clear indication of his current form, with the Welshman sitting on a mere five points right now. Gylfi Sigurdsson has also suffered – a couple of starts have lasted around the hour mark, while his other appearance came from the bench, with Villas-Boas struggling to get the best out of the Icelandic international. Emmanuel Adebayor could be set to start at Reading and could be a real differential if he comes good, with less than 4% ownership in FPL. At the back, Jan Vertonghen highlighted his attacking capabilities with a stunning free-kick for Belgium against Wales last Friday – the summer signing from Ajax has now settled at the Lane after being left out of the opener at Newcastle and has the offensive edge over his fellow defenders.

Swansea

Top scorers in the Premier League with 10 goals in their opening three, Michael Laudrup’s men are handed further opportunity to plunder points and goals over the next few Gameweeks. Swansea have three home games in the next five, with (EVE, RDG, WIG) all rolling up to the Liberty, while trips to Villa and Stoke hold little fear, with neither side producing a clean sheet so far.

Michu is now up to 7.3 in FPL, having netted in each of his first three matches – those latter two home clashes will tempt plenty to hand the Spaniard the armband. While Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge have both returned attacking points in their first trio of fixtures, the arrival of Pablo Hernandez raises doubts over their game time, with Routledge perhaps the most at threat. With Chico suspended for the next two league matches and Neil Taylor out for the season, Michel Vorm offers the comfort of save points if clean sheets go amiss, while Angel Rangel’s threat from right-back has already provided a goal for his Fantasy owners. Ben Davies is the real gamble here – a bargain bucket option, but with the Swan’s moving to seal the signature of Dwight Tiendalli today, the candidate for vacant left-back role now appears to be uncertain. Back up front, Danny Graham’s price across the Fantasy games still makes the lone forward a viable option, despite a single goal to date.

West Brom

Steve Clarke’s side go from strength to strength, with a strong start defying the doubters. Wins and clean sheets over Liverpool and Everton and a draw at Spurs have instilled a real confidence at the Hawthorns right now and the Baggies’ next four matches all look favourable, with home clashes against Reading and QPR supplemented by trips to Fulham and Villa.

Gareth McAuley and Liam Ridgewell have picked up the most suitors since the start of the season, though the arrival of Goran Popov is something of a worry. Popov is set to challenge Ridgewell for the left-back role, though the former Birmingham man could also move to centre-half (and vie with McAuley for game time) if ousted by the new boy. Ben Foster’s save points will be crucial to his cause, while further up the field, James Morrison has already returned a goal and assist from his role in “the hole”. Up top, only Shane Long looks to have established himself as a regular – when selected, Peter Odemwingie has been fielded out wide, while Romelu Lukaku has been reduced to the role of impact sub to this point.

Also Consider

Fulham – Martin Jol’s side welcome West Brom and Villa to the Cottage over the next six and travel to (wig, sot, rdg) affording them a chance to remedy their poor away form under the Dutchman last term. While Mark Schwarzer, Brede Hangeland and John Arne-Riise offer potential at the back, much depends on how Jol utilises his front line. Dimitar Berbatov looks nailed on and with spot-kicks likely to be in the bag, the Bulgarian is being lined up by many, while Mladen Petric’s owners will be keeping an eye on the Cottagers’ teamsheet over these next few games – a drop to the bench would see many sell him on.

West Ham – the Hammers roll up to Norwich this weekend on the back of a resounding win over Fulham and will be looking to replicate their home form on the road. Trips to QPR and Wigan also offer Sam Allardyce the chance to engineer a win or two, while home clashes with Sunderland and Southampton will see their assets pick up investment due to their back-to-back wins and clean sheets at Upton Park. Jussi Jaaskelainen has the luxury of save points to boost his tally and Guy Demel offers a real cut-price route into their back-four. Kevin Nolan is the obvious candidate in midfield, while we’re still awaiting news of Andy Carroll’s hamstring strain ahead of the visit to Carrow Road.

Chelsea – back after a blank Gameweek 3, the Blues have a trio of strong fixtures in the next four. Roberto Di Matteo’s side travel to QPR before hosting Stoke and Norwich – Eden Hazard will be handed the armband by many for those two games at the Bridge, while Fernando Torres offers a tempting, if somewhat riskier, alternative. With doubt over John Terry and Ashley Cole ahead of the Loftus Road match, Branislav Ivanovic may have to rely on his attacking threat to continue bringing home the points, while Juan Mata has already dropped to 9.0 in FPL due to the interest in Hazard; with less than 5% ownership, the Spaniard has the potential to be a decent differential here.

Aston Villa – a gritty point at Newcastle last time round will have Paul Lambert hoping the tide has turned. The fixture list now smiles kindly on the Midlands outfit, with (SWA, WBA, NOR) all arriving at Villa Park in the next six, with a trip to Southampton also thrown in. Ciaran Clark offers a cheap route at the back and has already grabbed a goal this season, while Barry Bannan has perhaps been their most impressive midfielder to date. Darren Bent now needs to step up after a poor start, while new boy Christian Benteke could be a real punt up front, should Lambert maintain his recent 4-4-2.

The Weak

Stoke

The fixture list continues to be cruel and unrelenting towards the Potters. Tony Pulis’ side are still without a clean sheet this term and now face a schedule that sees them square up to City, Chelsea, Swansea, Liverpool and United over the next five Gameweeks. Ryan Shawcross’ 20% of FPL ownership may find defensive returns hard to come by, though Peter Crouch as picked up a respectable six points per game over the first three and is still in under 5% of teams.

Norwich

Having picked themselves up after the Gameweek 1 mauling at Fulham, Norwich have registered a couple of draws but the next six fixtures look a real test for the Canaries. While the visit of West Ham may offer a little respite, Chris Hughton’s side then face (new, LIV, che, ARS) from Gameweeks 5-8; it’s fair to say that little investment is likely here until the schedule takes a turn for the better. With only two goals and no clean sheets under Hughton yet, it’s an easy decision for many.

QPR

A point from their first three matches is indicative of a team in transition right now. Mark Hughes’ influx of summer signings have clearly yet to gel and will need to get their act together quickly if they’re to climb up the table. Chelsea, West Ham and Everton all make their way to Loftus Road in the next six, while trips to Spurs, West Brom and Arsenal will offer real tests to the out-of-sorts side – Julio Cesar looks set for a busy introduction between the posts over the new few matches.

Also Be Wary Of…

Man United – While this weekend’s home clash with Wigan looks enticing, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side then face three difficult away trips over the following five Gameweeks. United make their way to (liv, new, che) and may need to rely on Robin Van Persie to fire them to victory once again, bearing in mind they have conceded in both their matches on the road thus far. With Spurs also making their way to Old Trafford during their upcoming run of games, United’s next few matches look likely to test a backline that has yet to register a single clean sheet.

Wigan – the next four Gameweeks look tricky for Roberto Martinez to engineer. Trips to United and Sunderland are unlikely to persuade many to take a punt on the post-Victor Moses Latics, while Fulham and Everton should both give Wigan a real battle at the DW.

I would have rather he stayed on the bench because i would then have got 9 points plus bonus for my first sub Kacaniclic of Fulham and the captaincy would have gone to Tevez! *ponders changes* I need Fellaini to score tomorrow to make my score look a bit respectable! *self harms* :D

GAMEWEEK 4 REVIEW and a look ahead to GW5

SATURDAY REVIEW

Fantasy managers are left scratching for returns on a day that saw the form players and the big names draw blanks. Here’s part one of the “Stock Check” with the Stadium of Light clash to follow…
On the Up

Dimitar Berbatov
The languid genius delivered on his home debut with a brace in his first Fulham start to offer an immediate claim to the third spot in our Fantasy forward lines. The engine is running on the Bulgarian bandwagon.

Alex Kacaniklic
Back in the side for the injured Kieran Richardson, the lively Swede delivered a pair of assists for Berbatov’s goals to again hint at the value he could offer in our midfields if he can just cement a starting role.

The West Ham Defence
A third clean sheet of the season for the Hammers, the first away from Upton Park. Big Sam’s defence continues to deliver, with Jussi Jaaskaleinan and Guy Demel likely to earn further Fantasy suitors in the week to come.

Alex Buttner
Given his home debut at the expense of Patrice Evra, Buttner grabbed his chance with a spectacular goal, assist and clean sheet return to cover himself in Fantasy honey for the bandwagon bees to come buzzing. Can he really offer security in a Sir Alex Ferguson back four?

Gervinho
An eye-catching brace from the Ivorian. Drafted in for Giroud, Gervinho took his chance. He perhaps lacks long-term security but could offer short-term value as a mid-price midfield alternative to Santi Cazorla.

Kieron Gibbs
With Carl Jenkinson soon to come under threat from the returning Bacary Sagna, Gibbs put his application form in for a place in our squads with two assists.

Lukas Podolski
The German marksman followed on from his goal at Anfield with a second strike in the thrashing of the Saints. If you can’t afford Cazorla, Podolski is offering a very viable route to Arsenal’s burgeoning confidence in attack.

Peter Crouch
While Michael Owen drew the attention, Crouch delivered his second goal in consecutive matches to suggest that he could be worth consideration once Stoke’s fixture list cheers up a little.

Matt Lowton
We have reservations about a Paul Lambert defence but Lowton looks seemingly secure at right-back and his goal and clean sheet for Villa today will attract interest.
Going Down

The City Defence
Roberto Mancini’s defence concedes for the fourth consecutive match. With Pablo Zabaleta missing out and Gael Clichy and Aleks Kolarov in rotation, the City defence continues to lack both security and value.

The Southampton Defence
There are firm question marks over the value offered in the Saints defence with good options elsewhere. Jes Hooiveld scored an OG and was subbed early on, while Nathaniel Cyne also burdened his owners by putting through his own net. The consolation goal for Daniel Fox may earn him a stay of execution.

David De Gea
Sir Alex preferred Anders Lindegaard once again, adding another nail in the Spaniard’s Fantasy coffin. De Gea’s price tag is just to high to risk rotation, particularly with the likes of Jaaskaleinan and John Ruddy knocking about.

Patrice Evra
There’s talk of a knock being the deciding factor for Evra taking a seat in the stands, although there was also plenty of rumours suggesting he’d drop out today. Regardless of the reasoning, the performance of Buttner will now put his starting role under real threat – his reaction to Buttner’s goal is trending as this is typed. It seemed Evra was untouchable in the United back for, now it seems only Nemanja Vidic can enjoy that status.

Carlos Tevez
Withdrawn on the hour-mark as Roberto Mancini tinkered. It’s too early to panic but with Sergio Aguero returning to fitness, Tevez owners will be wary of pitch time and rotation given Mancini’s decision to leave Mario Balotelli on the pitch.

Wojciech Szczęsny
Restored to the starting lineup at the expense of Vito Mannone, the Polish stopper was at fault for Southampton’s consolation and looked short on confidence. Wenger may feel concerned; Mannone somewhat aggrieved.

Wayne Routledge
Replaced by Pablo Hernandez on the hour-mark, it could be a sign of things to come. Chilling stuff for those who invested in the winger’s early season form. A disappointing result for Michael Laudrup – will he tinker next time around?

Robin Van Persie
Fit but rested to the bench with Wednesday’s Champions League tie in mind, today’s decision by Sir Alex Ferguson was a sobering one for the Dutchman’s Fantasy owners who now know that they will walk a teamsheet tightrope around European fixtures – particularly if United progress into the latter stages.

SCOUT REPORT PART 2

SUNDAY REVIEW

A Stadium of Light stalemate brings the day’s proceedings to a close as Liverpool’s dominance fails to deliver a much-needed three points for Brendan Rodgers. Here’s part two of the Stock Check…
On the Up

Steven Fletcher
Three efforts on goal, all converted. Martin O’Neill’s money looks well spent as the former Wolves man proves that, if you can keep him fed, he will deliver top flight goals. Only the Berbatov bandwagon will tame interest in Fletcher over the next few weeks.

Luis Suarez
The Uruguayan still commands over 9% ownership in the Fantasy Premier League game and this evening’s goal, on a day when the other big players faltered, will provide great comfort for those who have kept faith.

Raheem Sterling
Outstanding again on the Liverpool right flank, capped by an assist, the young winger looks to be cementing a starting role and, with a rock bottom price tag, will surely begin to harvest further Fantasy owners in the coming weeks.

Glen Johnson
Shifted to the left-back role, Johnson pushed on as Luis Suarez tucked inside and was a constant attacking threat. If Liverpool can start delivering clean sheets, Johnson could shape up to be a useful differential punt.
Going Down

Carlos Cuellar
The most popular option in the Black Cats’ defence was subbed at half-time with a reported hamstring injury. We await the prognosis. A spell on the sidelines would be a concern, particularly with Martin O’Neill’s defensive options likely to increase with the return of Phil Bardsley and Wes Brown.

Steven Gerrard
Deployed in a deeper role, Gerrard saw a lot of the ball but not in areas that can deliver Fantasy returns. Gerrard, along with David Silva and Gareth Bale, has failed to deliver on his price tag thus far and today’s showing provided little encouragement.

FRISKING THE FIXTURE GAMEWEEK 5

Our midweek regular returns once again as we cast an eye over the upcoming schedules and reassess our Fantasy options. West Brom climb in our thinking, while Swansea and Tottenham continue to be smiled upon kindly by the fixture list:

The Strong

West Brom

Steve Clarke’s side are offered the perfect opportunity to bounce back from a first defeat of the season with a strong run of upcoming fixtures. Reduced to 10 men after Peter Odemwingie’s rush of blood to the head at Fulham, the Baggies were resultantly battered but now have four home games in the next six to get their campaign back on track.

West Brom welcome (RDG, QPR, SOT) to the Hawthorns and also have a derby trip to Villa on their short-term agenda. The schedule looks likely to attract further investment in a backline that has yet to concede at home this term, with Ben Foster, Liam Ridgewell and Gareth McAuley the usual suspects, while further forward, James Morrison’s role in “the hole” has helped him accrue 20 FPL points thus far. Up top, Shane Long is the likeliest starter, though Romelu Lukaku could be set for more game time in light of Odemwingie’s suspension.

Swansea

The fixture list continues to look prosperous for Michael Laudrup’s troops, with three home games in the next four. A couple of defensive slips saw the Swans lose their unbeaten record at Villa last time round but we still have plenty faith in the likes of Michel Vorm, Ashley Williams and Angel Rangel ahead of the visit of (EVE, RGD, WIG).

Ben Davies looks a decent cut-price option at left-back over those fixtures and with a trip to Stoke also thrown in, Michu and Nathan Dyer still look primed for points. Wayne Routledge and Danny Graham owners might be a little concerned after they were both replaced midway through the second-half last weekend and with their schedule taking a turn for the worse from Gameweek 9, many Fantasy managers will already be planning an exit strategy.

Tottenham

Having registered their first win of the campaign under Andre Villas-Boas, Spurs have further reasons to be cheerful. The London outfit have four strong looking fixtures in the next six, with (QPR, AVL, WIG) all rolling up to the Lane, while a Gameweek 9 trip to Southampton seems another winnable fixture.

Clashes against United and Chelsea will no doubt test their resolve but the aforementioned quartet of matches will surely see investment come Gareth Bale’s way. Jermain Defoe remains in the driving seat as the lone striker, while Aaron Lennon has quietly, but effectively, been adding points to his tally with a couple of assists so far. At the back, Kyle Walker picked up his first attacking returns of the season with an assist at Reading, though Kyle Naughton could be a cut-price short-term alternative, should Benoit Assou-Ekotto required a spell on the sidelines with a knee problem.

Everton

More than a little unlucky to register a home draw with Newcastle on Monday evening, the Toffees favourable schedule over the next couple of months suggests they will feature highly in our weekly Frisking articles.

The next four sees David Moyes’ side head to (swa, wig, qpr) in addition to a home clash with Southampton – Leighton Baines, Steven Pienaar and Marouane Fellaini will all continue to pick up interest, though Nikica Jelavic’s owners are holding their breath over the injury that forced him off just before half-time against the Magpies. Kevin Mirallas could be set to prosper if the Croatian is absent, though Victor Anichebe may prove to be a real differential punt.

Also Consider

West Ham – Sam Allardyce’s troops have shown plenty of defensive resolve with three clean sheets in the opening four Gameweeks. A run of fixtures which sees the Hammers square up to (SUN, qpr, SOT, wig) in the next five is likely to see further investment in their Fantasy assets – Jussi Jaaskelainen has also been racking up the save points, Guy Demel offers a cut-price option at right-back, while Kevin Nolan, with a goal in each of his two home games, are the stand-out options.

Fulham – normally, a schedule that reads (wig, sot, rdg) would be considered kind but when it comes to the Cottagers, there’s reason to be wary. Martin Jol’s side scored just 12 times on their travels last season but with Dimitar Berbatov now on board, they could well prosper over the upcoming Gameweeks. Fulham’s superb home form under Jol will certainly hold no fear ahead of visits from City and Villa in the next five.

Southampton – bottom of the table within a single point to their name, the Saints are in dire need of an upturn in fortunes. Nigel Adkins’ side now have three home clashes in the next five, with (AVL, FUL, TOT) all making their way to St Mary’s – if they are to get their season back on track, a couple of wins here look essential. Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana are the obvious names, though Gaston Ramires looks a decent differential in midfield.

Wigan – the Latics will look to recover from a 4-0 Old Trafford mauling and have three home games in the next five to return to form. Roberto Martinez’s side welcome (FUL, EVE, WHM) to the DW in the next five Gameweeks – Emmerson Boyce’s forward forays from the right of midfield could come to fruition for the out of position defender, while Shaun Maloney, with spot-kick duties in his locker, has already returned a goal and assist for his owners.

The Weak

Norwich

After a 5-0 opening day drubbing, Chris Hughton has steadied the ship with three back-to-back draws but the Canaries are braced for a difficult next few matches before the schedule begins to ease up. With Norwich facing (new, LIV, che, ARS) in the next four Gameweeks, John Ruddy can be expected to rack up plenty of save points, though faith in the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Grant Holt may be somewhat tempered.

Stoke

Tony Pulis’ side registered their fourth consecutive 1-1 draw of the season last weekend at home to City and while the Potters have been typically resilient, the fixture list shows no let-up. Stoke travel to (che, liv, mun) in the next four Gameweeks, with a home clash against Swansea offering the only respite in a tough start to the season. The fixture list smiles a little kinder from Gameweek 9 onwards, though – good news for owners of the likes of Robert Huth, Ryan Shawcross, Peter Crouch and Jon Walters. Crouch, in particular, has been a stand-out for the Potters – he currently sits on 27 FPL points, one more than Robin Van Persie.

Reading

With a single point from their first three and seven goals conceded in the last two matches, it’s not been the best of starts for the Championship winners. Brian McDermott’s side now hit the road three times in the next four, with an upcoming schedule that reads (wba, NEW, swa, liv). While the Royals boss will be comforted by the fact his side have found the net in all their games so far, Pavel Pograbnyak’s 11% of FPL owners may well be thinking of jumping ship with a difficult time ahead.
Also Be Wary Of…

Man United – Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have, conceivably, one straightforward fixture in the next six Gameweeks. With (liv, TOT, new, STO, che, ARS) on their upcoming agenda, though, Ferguson may well decide to do away with the rotation policy that bit hard against Wigan last time out – the club can surely ill-afford to bench the likes of Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa if they are to successfully navigate such a schedule.

Arsenal – Arsene Wenger’s new-look side will be put firmly to the test over the next few Gameweeks, with a number of tricky trips ahead for the Gunners. A period which sees Arsenal travel to City and United, in addition to a visit to West Ham, also hands them a home clash with Chelsea in Gameweek 6. The defensive resilience which has seen Wenger’s side concede just a single goal will be key to their chances, while Santi Cazorla and Lukas Podolski offer the main attacking threat, as both look to add to their respective 24-point FPL tallies thus far.

TENERIFE FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATE GAMWEEK 5

Well that was another tough tough gameweek with a lot of the main big hitters struggling in the big games, this always makes it really hard to get massive scores, but there were still some mightily impressive scores in the TENERIFE FORUM CLASSIC LEAGUE.

Top scorer this week was TJ ALLSTARS who came home with a brilliant score of 69 pts, some scoring that is and also very good to see.....following the Allstars we had Agua Dulce Reds and untouchables who both score a heavy 59 pts, other big scorers were Kirsty's multiple scorgasms who hit 55 pts with Bumble Fc piling in with 53....as i say they are superb scores considering the gameweek we have just had, well done guys.

Top of the Table stayed as is with Tenerife Ultras staying top,my team hold on to 2nd spot but the chasers are chasing rather quickly now,3rd place we have Multiplescorgasms who jumped up 2 spots, also on the rise is the Untouchables up to 4th,Henrys ice bats go down 2 places to 5th and keepitpolishedforus goes up into 6th...getting quite tight in there now ,so it should be interesting over the coming weeks...At the wrong end of the table the bottom 3 are adejereds,Murph's Marauders and Seagulls TFS,some work to go guys to get your teams out of the relegation spots, but a long way to go yet,so heads up !!!

FOLLOWING ON FROM THE PAST WEEKS,Here is the latest Gameweek watchlist for us all to ponder,a big gameweek on the horizon and here are the highs and lows as predicted by the FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT!

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/fell_watchlist_updated_small.jpg

Everton’s exceptional form and fixtures find their assets soaring in our Watchlist reckoning this week. Mid-price defensive assets play partner to the attacking verve of Leighton Baines, while up front, our options are plentiful. Too plentiful.

Goalkeepers

Simon Mignolet surges clear in our goalkeeper rankings. There are several factors at play here. Firstly, there’s little doubt that Martin O’Neill has his side playing tight, controlled football – if somewhat unambitious in attacking terms. Sunderland’s fixtures are also fairly favourable, handing the back four home encounters with Wigan, Newcastle and Aston Villa in the next five. Thirdly, while the personnel in O’Neill’s back four is hard to pin down following the injury to Carlos Cuellar, Mignolet appears to offer a secure option at a decent price.

West Brom’s Ben Foster continues to offer value and is retained in second spot in our rankings. Like Sunderland, West Brom have emerged as miserly mid-price contenders and Foster should benefit from his forthcoming fixtures to offer further returns. Unlike Mignolet, however, Foster could lose out in some squads to attractive options in the back four – namely Gareth McAuley and Liam Ridgewell.

Both Merseyside clubs have fixtures that promise defensive returns, although the duo have factors that keep Tim Howard and Jose Reina out of the top places in our rankings. Howard will surely play second fiddle to Leighton Baines in our lineups, with further slots spared for the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic. As for Reina, his defence looks set to be ravaged by injury, although home encounters with Stoke and Reading in the next three could still offer short-term benefits.

West Ham’s Jussi Jaaskelainen takes a tumble then, with fixtures stiffening somewhat, while Stoke’s Asmir Begovic is hovering. He looks a very strong option, along with Newcastle’s Tim Krul (when fit), once Gameweek 8 has passed.

Defenders

Leighton Baines has been on top of our Watchlist rankings for three weeks and, in the past two Gameweeks, has shown just why. Early adopters have benefited from a goal and assist in consecutive games, in addition to Saturday’s clean sheet at the Liberty. With fixtures flourishing, Baines looks assured of further returns and is undisputed as the must-have defender right now.

The West Brom defence continues to offer exceptional value with a tit-for-tat battle rumbling between the options – Gareth McAuley, Liam Ridgewell and even Jonas Olsson. The superior of the three is hard to predict but it’s clear that having one of this trio for the coming weeks looks likely to be profitable.

We’re taking a punt on Liverpool’s Glen Johnson, despite injuries in Brendan Rodgers’ back four and a poor string of results. Liverpool could well turn the corner over the next three Gameweeks, however, and Johnson looks set to be in profit from clean sheets with the potential for attacking returns. He’s been a strong influence coming forward in recent weeks and could make a decent differential over the upcoming trio of fixtures.

John O’Shea is your assured option in the Sunderland back four should you neglect the Mignolet option, while Vincent Kompany continues to be a presence in the top echelons of our rankings, despite the continued struggle for clean sheets. City’s fixtures are by far the best amongst the top clubs and, with Roberto Mancini sounding determined to solve defensive lapses, we see fortunes turning for Kompany in the next month.

Stoke’s Robert Huth and Fulham’s John Arne Riise are your differentials further down the rankings. Both will rely on attacking returns in the short-term, although Huth’s fixtures will lighten considerably from Gameweek 8 onwards.

Midfielders

Having opted for Steven Pienaar ahead of Marouane Fellaini last week we are forced to backtrack and reinstate the Belgian this time around. Fellaini climbs to the pinnacle of our midfield rankings, toppling the big guns on the back of his attacking role and strong returns thus far. Fixtures remain favourable and, despite Jelavic’s return from injury, we see Fellaini remaining a factor up top as he continues to look unplayable.

We’ve taken the unprecedented step to also included Pienaar in the rankings, such is the form being shown by David Moyes’ side. The likes of Gareth Bale and Santi Cazorla rank above the South African, while Eden Hazard suffers a decline as form and fixtures factor against him.

Swansea’s Michu also drops with form but has the fixtures to maintain his rank in the short-term, holding off the charge from West Ham’s Kevin Nolan who has shown consistency, even with Andy Carroll sidelined.

Lower down the rankings, both Raheem Sterling and Alex Kacaniklic offer value differentials for the coming weeks. Sterling, in particular, looks a great route to Liverpool’s next three fixtures.

Forwards

Our established heavy-hitting top two come under real threat as a result of recent rotation, with Carlos Tevez suffering a drop, allowing both Dimitar Berbatov and Rickie Lambert to climb above him in our reckoning. To be fair, all three have very strong fixtures to come, although the rotation doubt hanging over Tevez is a concern. Berbatov and Lambert look assured of starts, will be on spot-kicks and have the fixture to flourish for many weeks.

Tevez is still the cover option of choice within the City ranks, although tonight’s start in the Capital One Cup gives further cause for concern. Sergio Aguero could well threaten to replace him in the Watchlist from next weekend, while Yaya Toure continues to offer the only viable option in midfield while David Silva recovers his sharpness and Samir Nasri remains sidelined. City are a potential problem for Fantasy managers right now – excellent fixtures but with instability and uncertainty throughout the lineup.

Back to the rankings and Robin Van Persie is struggling to hold his top spot, particularly with United facing stiff opposition in the coming weeks. We’re banking on the Dutchman to retain his starts and continue to deliver goals, having notched five already in United colours.

There are great options lower down, too. Nikica Jelavic is only kept from our top three by the fact that there are such strong midfield options offering good Everton cover. Jermain Defoe’s form has him hold strong, while Demba Ba has also demonstrated consistent returns to offer another mid-price option. With Steven Fletcher also chipping in with four strikes from as many shots on goal, it’s clear that we’re currently spoilt for choice in this area of our squads. Configuring the right trio looks both vital and decidedly tricky.

Finally, we’re backing Luis Suarez to finally break out and offer yet another alternative over the next month. He travels to Carrow Road this weekend, the scene of a hat-trick last term, which included a spectacular 50-yard effort. The omens are good for Suarez, then, before Stoke and Reading turn up at Anfield in Gameweeks 7 and 8.

Hope this helps you guys out somewhat and best of luck for the coming gameweek:goodluck:

TENERIFE FORUM FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE UPDATES GW 6

Yikes,at last the tables have updated guys so here is the lowdown. That was a Gameweek that has seriously blown this league wide open :wow:,some really great performances came through in which i thought was a real tough weekend of Footie, the top scorers this week were adejereds who banged in a fantastic score of 80 points(WOW that is some scoring that is,i doff my cap),keepitpolishedforus flew up the table with a superb 49 points,Seagulls TFS hit 45 points (very well done m8) followed by Murphs Marauders and Aguadulcereds both hitting 44 points (nice one guys),Henrys ice bats hit a solid 42 points.

The League table is now really hotting up with the guys at the top hitting pretty low scores,it's a refreshing look ahead to the following gameweeks with so many points to play for and the league being really wide open..One massive score will see this league explode into life.

Top of the tree Al Jays Tenerife Ultras look under pressure now as do my own Col Nil Satis Fc,both teams are scoring low at the minute but hold onto the top 2 spots for now,in 3rd we have The Untouchables who swap places with Kirsty's Multiplescorgasms, the hungry ice bats remain in 5th with keepitpolishedforus up into 6th:)

At the bottom the landlords11 have slipped into the drop zone, with Murphs Marauders and Seagulls TFS still bottom 2 but both had amazing gameweeks, well done chaps .

Ooof!!! Been a really hard 2/3 weeks H man,the players that are scoring are not the obvious ones etc,i am always in for the long haul ,i have had a bad few weeks but my team will always be a danger,as i always say young sir, this is a marathon and not a sprint,i have been busily restructuring my squad so maybe just maybe i have a big score ready to unleash ,but the way the season is going so far with so many managers going down the rotation road,it is making it quite difficult for all managers,my aim is now to take a gamble and see if it pays off.It may do it may not,but i really like the way the leagues are shaping up,it is all good fun and it's really good to see the tables being really competitive, best of luck on Saturday H,have a good one ! :eyebrows:

Excellent. Looks like some good banter on here. 12 years in the UK has helped me learn not to call it soccer. Though I still can't understand why Suarez doesn't wear proper boots so he doesn't fall over all the time...

And don't forget, NZ was the only unbeaten team at the world cup in South Africa!

Henry

I lived in Fort Lauderdale when the 1992 World Cup was held in the states and spent more time explaining the rules to locals than actually doing my job as a chef.

I was in hysterics at the commentary referring to offence and defence.....in fact so poor was the coverage they sacked all the Americans and replaced them with old ex pros from Britain..they were just as bad.

Football or soccer will never really take off there unless the wetbacks outnumber the rest.......so in about 20 years time then.:redcard:

P.S. I go to every CD Tenerife game with Armada Sur so see you soon.

In my Fantasy team I started with Aguero - Got Injured - Replaced with Rooney - Got Injured. Brought in Fellaini - Injured - Also Borini and Enrique - now injured.

So, requests now being taken if anyone requires a real life player to be injured on the back of me putting him in my Fantasy Team - Just put the players name on the back of a Cheque for £50 and post to me ...... I will do the rest !

Back to more interesting football this weekend.
The injury to Marouane Fellaini is disappointing for the Everton fans but the Liverpool fans also have a problem, with Luis Suarez being their only recognised striker available because of the injury to Fabio Borini. David Silva is also doubtful for Man City.

Cheers Dave,i always like updating the leagues and i have found the Tenerife Forum League to have the most banter etc,we have a good bunch here who are all into there football like myself so it's a pleasure to run this league, the International breaks as of late have slowed us all down a wee bit,but it's back to the old grind come the weekend,i am glad you are enjoying the updates etc, that is as always is good to hear, the leagues this season both main and head to head are as wide open as i have ever seen them ,it makes it so much better when we are all scrambling around for the points etc, best of luck mate for the rest of the season, thank fook these international breaks have now finished for a few months lol.

I will add a Scout update tomorrow evening before the weekend games with a fresh update of our tables, and best of luck to all the players for a solid weekend score!!! Some great games on the horizon this week, and i guess many managers have been looking at there team this week checking for injuries etc,all in all the Fantasy Football main season is now back, lets all get it on!!

I see you have already left the league Phil, that is unfortunate but what's done is done,i did put up the sign ups thread on 19th July 2012 thoroughly encouraging all NEW MEMBERS to join,i constantly asked for members to confirm they are a Tenerife forum member http://www.tenerifeforum.org/tenerife-forum/showthread.php?18384-Tenerife-Forum-Fantasy-Football-sign-ups-2012-13 and once the league started i removed all players that did not confirm,i do this to ensure we have no outsiders playing in our leagues, you are more than welcome to join the leagues next season as are all new members ,i am sorry that there seems to have been a misunderstanding on this thread and hopefully now we can move on and get back to what this thread is for, good luck in your other leagues kiwiphil and i look forward to you joining us for the next season of Fantasy Football.

Al Jay, please don't judge me by your own standards. I joined because I live here now and noticed the thread on the forum. I didn't even look at the placings or scores before joining, so where I ranked had nothing to do with it. I simply thought that since I lived here and I noticed there was a league that it'd be nice to join. Back in June / July / August I was busy with getting settled in etc since we only arrived in May. I hardly visited the forum except to get some advice on a few things.

Look at what my ranking was after GW 2 or 3. If I was only going to join when I was doing well then surely I'd have done it then, when I was around the top 50k? I joined when my ranking was the worst its been all season.

And throwing your statement back at you - would you have a problem with me joining if I was last? No, I thought not.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT REPORT GW 10 UPDATE

WATHLIST AND MORE INFO FOR GAMEWEEK 10 FOR TENERIFE FORUM MEMBERS

Three of the four top spots in our Watchlist rankings remain the same in this week’s refresh, although there is plenty of movement lower down, with mid-price assets still proving worthy options for the month ahead. Here’s a breakdown of the key movements this week, with the full listings in your right sidebar…
Goalkeepers

It’s no surprise to find Asmir Begovic remaining on top of the keeper rankings. The Stoke stopper returned a clean sheet against Sunderland last weekend and, with a continued run of favourable fixtures in his favour in addition to news that full-back Marc Wilson is now injured, Begovic is arguably the best option available to cover the Potters’ back four, although there remains clear alternatives.

Begovic’s fixtures are strong enough that a rotation option is hardly required until perhaps Gameweek 18; QPR’s Julio Cesar is one alternative (RDG QPR SOT FUL NEW AVL avl FUL), while Jussi Jaaskelainen – although a miserable choice for the next ten Gameweeks – offers home and away rotation with Begovic right to the end of the season; their next nine would afford you (nor QPR STO FUL NEW wba LIV EVE EVE).

Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet, in rotation with Newcastle’s Tim Krul is another attractive route for keeper rotation – albeit more expensive. Both have strong short-term fixtures and perfect home and away rotation. These two offer a particularly strong run over the next six Gameweeks (AVL WHM SWA WBA QPR WIG) before Gameweeks 16 and 17 pose a problem.
Defenders

With form and fixtures still in his favour, it’s hard to see Leighton Baines being relieved of his mantle at the top of the defender rankings. While clean sheets have been scarce, Baines has returned goals, assists and bonus points in recent weeks to keep him simmering nicely and earn him further Fantasy suitors.

Rafael’s continued attacking impetus has him rise dramatically up the rankings ahead of United’s tremendous run of fixtures. The Brazilian’s ownership has been on a steady ascent in recent weeks and that should continue given his form, despite the imminent return to fitness of both Chris Smalling and Phil Jones as options. Right now, it’s difficult to see Rafael surrendering the right-back role.

Stoke’s Robert Huth is the luxury option within Tony Pulis’ back four, with Ryan Shawcross and Geoff Cameron available for those with tighter budgets. Arguably, coverage of the Stoke defence looks essential given their run over the next ten Gameweeks; on paper, Spurs away is their only real uphill encounter in that spell.

QPR’s Ryan Nelsen enjoys a big rise up the rankings off the back of improved showings from the R’s defence but mainly due to their opponents over the next three. Mark Hughes’ side is another that face an encouraging run of fixtures, with United away in Gameweek 13 their only big test until the trip to Newcastle in Gameweek 18.

Below the R’s man, both Newcastle’s Danny Simpson and Sunderland’s Carlos Cuellar offer the cheapest routes into their respective defences, and rotate perfectly home and away; both have strong fixtures in the next six Gameweeks.

Chris Baird also makes an appearance after back-to-back goals from his holding midfield role. We’re presuming that Baird’s start is at risk but, given his form in his new position in the Fulham engine room, it seems likely that he will hold in the short-term and offer potential for those looking to take a punt on further attacking returns: given his opponents, clean sheets look a big ask. Baird picked up a knock against Reading last weekend and was subbed off on 79 minutes but there’s no indication that he is a doubt for the visit of Everton this Saturday.
Midfielders

Juan Mata climbs from second to the top of the Watchlist off the back of a staggering run of scoring over the past five Gameweeks. While there’s a clear concern that acquisition would now be chasing points, the allure of the Spaniard is so strong and there is no apparent sign of his returns slowing – although that does seem inevitable at some point. Mata’s climb results in team-mate Eden Hazard taking a severe decline in the rankings: clearly there is only one contender right now for those looking for investment in Chelsea’s midfield. Hazard owners, meanwhile, continue to face the dilemma of swapping and risking a switch in fortunes.

Mata’s climb knocks Santi Cazorla off the top spot but he holds in second with Gareth Bale’s tougher short-term fixtures keeping him third – for now at least.

The sheer value of Raheem Sterling, playing up almost alongside Luis Suarez in Liverpool’s lineup, has him climb into our top five. While Brendan Rodgers’ side have difficult fixtures to come, Sterling’s price makes him a hot property as the fifth midfielder in our squads.

Steven Pienaar enjoys a rise, having served his one-match suspension – he ranks above team-mate Marouane Fellaini with the Belgian just one booking away from a ban.

There are a whole host of strong mid-price options available, with Adam Lallana, Kevin Nolan, Adel Taarabt and Michu all making strong cases for inclusion. Lallana and Taarabt have the advantage of fixtures, while both Nolan and Michu are enjoying advanced roles which could bring continued returns, despite their tough opponents to come.
Forwards

Robin Van Persie continues to reign supreme in the forwards rankings and Sunday’s returns at Stamford Bridge only strengthened his position at the top.

Carlos Tevez’s winner against Swansea lifts him above team-mate Sergio Aguero and has him back in our thoughts as coverage of City’s attacking potential in the forthcoming weeks. While Tevez has just one strike in six Gamweeks, he has ticked along with assists and FPL bonus and continues to look assured of starts in Roberto Mancini’s lineup. His price tag of 9.4, compared to Aguero’s 11.1, is enough to earn him preference right now, with Aguero struggling to light the touch paper.

Demba Ba’s form also continued in Sunday’s matches and, with strong fixtures to come, he remains an exceptional option up front but injury concerns are now mounting following Alan Pardew’s comments today. As discussed earlier, Ba is rated as 50:50 for the Anfield trip which dents his investment potential in the short-term.

Nikica Jelavic and Peter Crouch are your mid-price option, with the Stoke man still perhaps the preferred route to cover the Potters’ encouraging schedule. Below that pair, Luis Suarez suffers from being perched on the suspension tightrope, despite outstanding current form. Dimitar Berbatov’s recent rib injury scare, allied with a schedule that is far from friendly in the coming weeks, keeps the Bulgarian’s ranking in check.

The budget market in this position is far from burgeoning right now, with Rickie Lambert’s form and starts in question. Pavel Pogrebnyak and Grant Holt offer alternatives for those on a budget.

CAPTAINS POLL GAMEWEEK 10....Problems and things to think about...!!!

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT UPDATE

Maybe it’s written in the stars, or all over Arsene Wenger’s worry lines, but the fact is that the majority of us are backing Robin Van Persie to put his former club to the sword on Saturday. Having notched his third double figure return in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Van Persie has goals and confidence flowing through him and will come up against an Arsenal side struggling to come to terms with life without their talisman.

Robin Van Persie looks set to top our Captain poll (see homepage middle column) for the fourth time this season, with a healthy margin separating him from Tottenham’s Gareth Bale – his nearest rival so far. The Dutchman’s performances on winning our poll have been mixed to this point. While he fetched a goal and an assist to reward the faith in Gameweek 8, previously against Wigan in Gameweek 4 and Spurs in Gameweek 6, he mustered just a single assist.

Arsenal have conceded in their last three away trips, while United’s goal power looks to be bristling with Wayne Rooney operating off Van Persie, and Antonio Valenicia installed on the right to bring his reliable supply of crosses that have seen him fetch four assists in consecutive league starts. The odds looked piled against the Gunners, with Van Persie likely to be first in line to dish out the punishment.

Ironically, Van Persie will come up against last week’s poll winner – Santi Cazorla. The Spaniard returned just three points to reward a show of faith which saw 21% of our voters backing him for returns in the home clash with QPR. Cazorla’s humble tally lowered the average for the poll winner to 6.8 for the season and meant that we’ve seen just one double figure return since Gameweek 3 from the leading candidate.

Perhaps that will give some comfort to those who will go into the weekend without Van Persie, who perhaps are looking to back Gareth Bale, Juan Mata or Carlos Tevez. Those three are the main chasing pack right now but are trailing by some distance as the Dutchman dominates.

Bale continued his run of form with a opening goal in last night’s Capital One Cup defeat at Norwich, while Mata was forced to endure a full 120 minutes of action as Chelsea finally disposed of United in their ding-dong tie. Roberto Di Matteo has stressed that he will monitor his squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Swansea, although given his run of form, it’s pretty imaginable that Chelsea will start without him at the Liberty. Mata could, however, be handed limited pitch time, depending on how the match develops for Di Matteo’s side.

Carlos Tevez is perhaps the most intriguing alternative of our three in the chasing pack – his winning goal against Swansea was his first in six league matches but consistent assists and FPL bonus have kept him bubbling. The scene is set for Tevez to step into a cauldron at his former club West Ham this weekend, although with a critical Champions League tie with Ajax beckoning, we are, as always, left to second guess Roberto Mancini’s teamsheet intentions with his striking quartet all vying for starts.

Whatever you go with guys, good luck to one and all  Have a good Gw :)

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUTS OFFICIAL TEAM FOR GW 10

Having rolled out a 4-3-3 last time round, we return to a 3-4-3 formation for this week’s selection. A familiar face earns the call to lead the line at Old Trafford tomorrow after his surprise exclusion last weekend, while Roberto Di Matteo’s lunchtime press conference had us swopping Chelsea midfield options ahead of the Blues’ trip to Swansea:

Simon Mignolet gets the nod between the sticks for Sunderland’s home game with Villa. While the Black Cats have been poor offensively, they have conceded just two goals in their three home matches so far and with Villa scoring just twice over five road trips this term, a home clean sheet could well be on the cards.

Leighton Baines continues his role as a Scout Pick regular as Everton prepare to visit Fulham. With attacking returns or FPL bonus in six of his nine appearances thus far, the left-back continues to prosper despite returning just two clean sheets this season. While the Cottagers are favoured to score, Baines’ left flanks forays and strong showings in the EA SPORTS PPI are always likely to produce the goods, as the Toffees seek to extend their six-match unbeaten run.

Jan Vertonghen is another who has impressed going forward from the back. Since being moved to left-back by Andre Villas-Boas, the Belgian has produced a goal, an assist and a couple of bonus points in the last four Gameweeks, in addition to a home clean sheet – he looks in decent form ahead of Wigan’s visit to the Lane, as Spurs go looking for their sixth win in seven.

With plenty of money invested in our front three, we’re handing Liam Ridgewell a chance to impress as a cheaper alternative to Gareth McAuley ahead of West Brom’s home game with Southampton. The Baggies left-back comes in at 5.0 in FPL, compared to McAuley’s 5.5, and has averaged six points per home game thus far, with three clean sheets, an assist and a couple of bonus points in four Hawthorns appearances. Nigel Adkins’ side have scored just a single goal in each of their last three on the road but with the hosts in such resilient home form, the Saints could struggle to breach Steve Clarke’s backline.

Stilicho has already waxed lyrical over the talents of Adel Taarabt in a Watchlist piece earlier this week and with a home game against Reading on the Moroccan’s agenda, we’re giving him the nod this weekend. Taarabt has notched two of his side’s last four goals across the previous four Gameweeks and with the visitors still recovering from their 7-5 Capital One Cup home battering by Arsenal, the 5.5 priced midfielder could be primed to steer his side to their first league win of the season.

Averaging five FPL points per game so far, James Morrison has proven to be a strong mid-price midfield candidate under the guidance of new boss Steve Clarke. Ahead of the visit of Southampton, his potential this Gameweek may depend on the fitness of Claudio Yacob – the latter’s omission last week saw Morrison shifted from his regular role in “the hole” to central midfield but if Yacob returns in time for Monday evening, Morrison could flourish against a Saints side that have shipped an average of four goals per away game thus far.

Having racked up 48 FPL points in his last five matches, Gareth Bale is an obvious contender. Ahead of a home game against Wigan, the Welshman is second only to Robin Van Persie in the Captain Poll this week – with Spurs scoring two or more goals in each of the last six and the Latics failing to register a single clean sheet on the road thus far, points could well be on the menu for the 9.7 midfielder this Saturday.

This afternoon’s Stamford Bridge injury update has forced us to ditch Juan Mata, with doubts hovering over the Spaniard’s availability for tomorrow’s trip to Swansea. Eden Hazard is hardly a bad replacement, though. With Frank Lampard also out for Chelsea, the Belgian looks set to be first in line for spot-kicks and with an average of just under eight points per game over the last three, Hazard squares up to a defence that have conceded in each of their last seven.

Robin Van Persie is the runaway leader of this week’s Captain Poll. We handed the Dutchman a rare break from the Scout Picks last weekend and our decision came back to bite us – with former club Arsenal rolling up to Old Trafford, Van Persie looks in irresistible form as he squares up to Arsene Wenger for the first time since leaving the Emirates this summer.

We’re opting for Carlos Tevez as he prepares to return to Upton Park tomorrow evening. The Argentine has shown stronger consistency than Sergio Aguero over the season, with last week’s winner against Swansea meaning Tevez has scored or assisted in seven of his eight starts so far. The champions have registered four back-to-back victories and with Sam Allardyce’s side failing to keep a clean sheet in their last five, the visitors will be confident of racking up the points again.

Luis Suarez is our final forward ahead of Liverpool’s home game with Newcastle on Sunday. The Uruguayan has finally found his shooting boots this season after a disappointing previous campaign and has scored or assisted nine of his side’s 12 league goals. With a strike in the midweek cup defeat by Swansea, Suarez’s eye for goal shows little sign of slowing down and with the Magpies conceding two goals in all but one of their four away fixtures so far, an away clean sheet looks highly unlikely.

Recent Watchlist candidate Ryan Nelsen is our substitute defender ahead of QPR’s home game with Reading. Coming in at just 4.0 in FPL, the centre-half has produced 13 points over his three home matches, with bonus accrued in two of those games, and with the Royals failing to score in two of their last three on the road, the omens are good for a home clean sheet for Mark Hughes’ side.

We’re handing Wes Hoolahan a squad place, with Norwich set to face Stoke at Carrow Road. Chris Hughton’s side have now beaten Arsenal and Spurs in back-to-back home matches in all competitions and with Hoolahan now handed a regular role in “the hole”, he could be set to replicate last week’s seven point return; Tony Pulis’ side have registered just one clean sheet in five road trips.

With a home game against Southampton on the agenda, Romelu Lukaku is perhaps a little unlucky just to make the bench this weekend. Although Steve Clarke remains hopeful over Shane Long’s chances of recovery, we expect the Belgian to be given the nod on Monday evening. Bearing in mind he has scored in both his starts for the Baggies so far, and is up against the most porous defence in the Premier League, Lukaku has the potential of a goal or two this Monday evening.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT UPDATE ,WATCHLIST GW 11

They may well be on the verge of one-match bans, but the form of Merseyside pairing Luis Suarez and Marouane Fellaini is alluring enough to see them both climb in our Watchlist rankings this week. Elsewhere, Juan Mata looks to have regained fitness to rise in the reckoning once again, while lingering doubts over Demba Ba’s fitness dent his stock ahead of a potentially flourishing run of opponents.

The current, updated rankings are available in your sidebar. Read on for details and the factors at play behind this latest refresh…
Goalkeepers

Stoke’s Asmir Begovic holds firm at the top, as his Fantasy Premier League (FPL) stock continues to rise ahead of a favourable run of fixtures. The Potters have such an obliging schedule over the coming weeks, a rotation option with Begovic isn’t urgently required, although QPR’s Julio Cesar, West Ham’s Jussi Jaaskelainen and Newcastle’s Tim Krul offer strong options for Stoke’s next two away fixtures.

Krul is, himself, a good solo route for the coming weeks, even without the steadying influence of Fabricio Coloccini in front of him for the next three. The Magpies stopper rotates perfectly with Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet and that looks a solid pairing from this point on for those with the budget to spend in this area.

Further down we are potentially robbed of Reading’s Alex McCarthy as a consideration given his recent shoulder injury, while the Southampton option as a save-point stopper is killed off by uncertainty over starts, given Artur Boruc’s disciplinary investigation at the club. Similarly, Arsenal’s Wojciech Szczęsny is not currently on the menu, although we’d expect the number one jersey to be confirmed once he returns to fitness – possibly this weekend. The Pole has now fallen to 5.3 in the FPL and would offer the cheapest, most secure route into the Gunners defence for their forthcoming run of favourable fixtures.
Defenders

There’s very little movement at the top of the defender rankings, with Leighton Baines and United’s Rafael clear front runners, given their form and fixtures. Both have attacking intent to compliment any clean sheet returns and we’re confident we’ll see both coming to fruition in the coming weeks to justify their high ranking.

Stoke’s Robert Huth is our chosen weapon in Tony Pulis’ defence but there is a range on offer – both full-backs, Andy Wilkinson and Geoff Cameron, make perfect sense given their price tags. Huth has the superior goal threat, however, and could justify the extra outlay over Stoke’s run of three home games in four.

Newcastle’s Steven Taylor now looks nailed-on for starts, having regained his first XI role at Anfield last weekend. The Magpies’ resolve will be dented by the absence of Fabricio Coloccini due to suspension over the next three, but they should have enough to offer some defensive profit, despite the skipper being sidelined.

Wigan’s Emmerson Boyce has an ongoing goal threat and assist potential given his right wing-back role for the Latics, while Reading’s Kaspar Gorkss goes into a fine run of fixtures off the back of an assist and goal in consecutive Gameweeks. He’s the clear candidate for those shopping with pennies, with Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and QPR’s Ryan Nelsen also available for those who wish to flood the backline with cheap options.
Midfielders

Santi Cazorla’s late strike at Old Trafford issued a reminder of his talents and is enough to see him hold off the claims of Juan Mata on top of the midfield rankings – for now. Mata will be expected to return to Chelsea duty against Liverpool on Sunday and could regain top ranking if Cazorla frustrates in his home clash with Fulham.

Everton’s Marouane Fellaini is pushing that pair hard after another stunning display in the 2-2 at Fulham. The see-saw battle with team-mate Steven Pienaar in the mid-price bracket now looks to be falling firmly in the Belgian’s favour, although with a one-match ban imminent, there is a clear price to pay for switching allegiance to Fellaini.

There are some very strong mid-price options as always, with United’s Antoinio Valencia beginning to suggest that he can offer at least partial cover of United’s attack for those unable to stretch to Robin Van Persie up top. Southampton’s Adam Lallana has the fixtures to inflict damage in the coming weeks – he’s currently our preferred option over Gaston Ramirez, although we’ll be monitoring his impact at the weekend to consider whether the Uruguayan should return to our radars after his recent injury.

Swansea’s Michu continues to pick up suitors and warrants such attention given his role up front for Michael Laudrup’s side. Swansea’s fixtures revive strongly soon and that should give Michu the platform to deliver more goals.

Lower down, Arsenal’s Theo Walcott could well offer a very strong and potentially more explosive alternative to Cazorla in the Arsenal midfield, while Wigan’s Shaun Maloney and Reading’s Jobi McAnuff keep Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling company as prize budget options.
Forwards

Demba Ba’s niggling shin injury prevents him from remaining in our top three forwards and challenging the likes of Carlos Tevez and Robin Van Persie. Fixtures remain stacked in favour of the Senegalese striker but we have to reserve judgement, having seen Ba limp off at Anfield just after half-time.

His decline has allowed Luis Suarez to jump in the rankings and, despite tough fixtures to come and looming suspension for a fifth booking, the Uruguyan has to figure in our thinking. His form is strong enough to suggest that he will go on firing in shots and score the goals to keep pace with the Golden Boot front runners.

Suarez’s claims aren’t enough to displace the proven class of both Tevez and Van Persie, who surely offer the best route to covering the United and City attacks. While City are struggling for fluency up top, it still seems a risk to go forward without some coverage of their potential in attacking terms. With Sergio Aguero seemingly being reserved for full Champions League duty, Tevez appears to have the greater security of starts in the Premier League and has the edge on price, of course.

Outside of the top echelons, Peter Crouch has to remain a consideration, given Stoke’s forthcoming run of opponents that will surely allow the striker to add to his goal tally thus far. His potential keeps him holding firm while the likes of Nikica Jelavic drops due to form and the provision of strong Everton midfield options. Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe also slide with tough schedules in front of them – Defoe now seems under some threat from Emmanuel Adebayor, certainly in terms of pitch time.

The bugdget market still looks somewhat stifled, with both Rickie Lambert and Pavel Pogrebnyak unsure of starting roles. Wigan’s Arouna Kone is perhaps an intriguing option with some favourable home fixtures to come. QPR’s Djibril Cisse is also one to watch should he cement a starting role in the weeks to come. He could feature on the Watchlist if he can impress this weekend.

Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud is perhaps your key differential. The Frenchman clearly has the potential to deliver strong returns if he and Arsenal can click over what is a very strong run of fixtures leading up to Christmas.

All a very interesting read,do YOU GO WITH THESE PICKS???? Hmmmmm....these are only what the Scout says,Your decision....Big decisions for the Gameweek ahead.

SCOUT UPDATE

INTERNATIONAL WEEK - THE WITHDRAWALS

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/van_persie_internationals_big.jpg

As always, the midweek raft of international matches has harvested plenty of withdrawals ahead of next weekend’s Fantasy deadline. In general, these do tend to be no more than cautionary measures by clubs and while there’s no real reason to be overly anxious, we thought it’d be worthwhile to roll out an update on those currently affected…

Undoubtedly, the most high profile name affected is Robin Van Persie. The United forward has apparently picked up a “minor” thigh problem and has been omitted from Holland’s friendly clash with Germany on Wednesday. At this stage, it’s fair to say that we’d fully expect Van Persie to be available for United’s trip to Norwich – in many ways, his withdrawal is good news given his past experience on international duty.

Van Persie’s Old Trafford team mate Wayne Rooney is also afforded the midweek off. He has withdrawn from the England squad to face Sweden with the ankle injury which forced him off at Villa on Saturday evening. Theo Walcott has pulled out as a result of the glute injury sustained in Saturday’s draw with Fulham, while ahead of next weekend’s north London derby at the Emirates, Spurs pair Aaron Lennon and Kyle Walker are also unavailable for Roy Hodgson. Liverpool’s Jonjo Shelvey has withdrawn after failing to recover from the thigh injury which forced him out of Sunday’s draw at Chelsea, while Anfield team mate Steven Gerrard is to have a precautionary scan after picking up a knee problem at the Bridge. The latest from the FA this evening indicates that Gerrard will be fit to win his 100th cap, however.

Demba Ba has this afternoon withdrawn from the Senegal squad to face Niger on Wednesday. Although the forward seemed to have no problems in yesterday’s 1-0 home defeat at the hands of West Ham and played the full 90 minutes, Alan Pardew revealed post-match that Ba was “struggling a little bit” with his recent shin complaint. Sammy Ameobi is another Newcastle man out of midweek action. He missed yesterday’s defeat to West Ham with a hamstring injury and has pulled out of contention for the England U21s.

City’s Gael Clichy has also made his excuses ahead of France’s game with Italy. The left-back picked up a back problem in yesterday’s win over Spurs. He is due to have painkilling injections on the injury this week according to City’s assistant David Platt.

Earlier this evening, QPR’s Ryan Nelsen became the latest “casualty” – he misses out on a lengthy flight to China for New Zealand’s friendly due to ankle and knee injuries according to the club.

Scotland have been hammered by a number of call-offs ahead of their trip to Luxembourg, with as many as seven Premier League players all handing in sick notes so far. Sunderland pair Phil Bardsley and Steven Fletcher have pulled out – the former missed the weekend trip to Everton with a hamstring injury, while Fletcher was replaced on 69 minutes at Goodison after sustaining an ankle problem.

Wigan’s Shaun Maloney has picked up an abdominal problem, while Charlie Adam and James Morrison – who both scored for Stoke and West Brom respectively last Saturday – have been ruled out with groin injuries. Villa’s Barry Bannan (knee) and QPR’s Jamie Mackie (ankle) are also ruled out for their country.

Northern Ireland are without the services of Jonny Evans, after the United centre-half withdrew with the groin injury which forced him out of the weekend win at Villa, while Everton’s Kevin Mirallas is out with a hamstring problem sustained midway through the first-half of Saturday’s win over Sunderland.

This leaves us fretting on those who will be active participants in the midweek matches with the Spaniards – Juan Mata and Santi Cazorla perhaps key concerns given that they face a lengthy trip to Panama for their friendly. Meanwhile, Luis Suarez will likely turn out for Uruguay in Poland, while Pablo Zabaleta, Sergio Aguero and Franco Di Santo (no really), all travel with Argentina to Saudi Arabia for their friendly; Carlos Tevez remains at home once again. There’s a whole host of Belgian stars making the trip to Romania, with Eden Hazard and Marouane Fellaini the headline acts in that one from a Fantasy perspective. It’s going to be a nervous few days.

As always, we’re recording all the knocks and scrapes over in the injuries and bans table and this will include any injuries that occur over the midweek matches. Then, later this week, we’ll be working through to clear them out as the latest team news arrives prior to the weekend.

THIS WEEKS WATCHLIST UPDATED

Once again, Merseyside pair Marouane Fellaini and Luis Suarez continue to climb in the Watchlist rankings, with their respective form just too good to ignore, in spite of the fact they are both a single caution away from a one-match ban. Dimitar Berbatov and Juan Mata are also on the rise, while four home fixtures in the next five Gameweeks has Sunderland’s defensive assets leap in our estimations…

Goalkeepers

Despite the clean sheet in the 1-0 win over QPR, we find Stoke’s Asmir Begovic toppled from the top spot when it comes to our long-term planning. The Stoke stopper still has strong form and fixtures to justify acquisition, although with three away trips in five, his prospects take a dip.

Sunderland’s Simon Mignolet is the new target between the sticks. Like Stoke, the Black Cats are basing success on a resolute back four unit, having conceded just 11 goals this term to Stoke’s 10. Sunderland’s fixtures are that bit stronger than Stoke’s, with the allure of a double Gameweek now on the horizon. As a result, Mignolet has four home matches in the next five Gameweeks, making him an obvious leading candidate for those looking to tweak between the sticks.

Tim Krul is your main rotation option with Mignolet given that he offers perfect home and away cover with the Belgian. Newcastle’s back four will receive better protection now that Chieck Tiote is back from his ban, although with Fabricio Coloccini still facing two more matches out, reservations will remain.

QPR’s Julio Cesar is perhaps a better option to partner Mignolet in the short-term; he offers home matches with Southampton this weekend and Aston Villa in Gameweek 15 to coincide with Mignolet’s away trips. The Brazilian also makes a decent acquisition in his own right for those looking for a swap on a budget.

David De Gea is the clear choice for those looking to spend in this position, with his starting role in the United XI seemingly secure for now. It perhaps looks a safer bet to wait for several of the uncertainties to be settled, however. Right now, it’s unclear as to whether Wojciech Szczęsny will make a return to the Gunners goal as number one this weekend, while the Southampton, Liverpool and Reading keeper situation is also in flux due to injuries and absentees. Once they clear, there are likely to be more alternatives available.

Defenders

Attacking returns and bonus points continue to keep Leighton Baines ticking along to justify his selection at the top of our defender rankings. In truth, the competition isn’t yet fierce enough to threaten him, right now. United’s Rafael keeps pushing to make a claim with continued attacking menace and strong fixtures but, with just one clean sheet in the last seven outings, Sir Alex Ferguson’s back four is just not reliable.

Sunderland’s Carlos Cuellar comes into our thinking as we prepare for the Gameweek 16 double; we don’t expect much from the trip to Craven Cottage this weekend but, after that, returns on four home games in the next five Gameweeks look likely.

Below this there are slim pickings. Newcastle’s back four is wavering without Coloccini, while Robert Huth and Emmerson Boyce are struggling to fetch the attacking returns that warrant the outlay. The budget route continues to look the most favourable with Ryan Nelsen, Kaspar Gorkss, Nathaniel Clyne and Ben Davies all offering regular starts – Villa’s Ciaran Clark could be a decent mid-term punt for those looking for the threat of attacking returns.

Midfielders

Despite the looming threat of a one-match ban, Marouane Fellaini’s ascendency has him claim the Watchlist top spot off the back of outstanding form. The Belgian is currently the biggest bandwagon across the Fantasy games but it’s difficult to question the merits of acquiring a player who has provided more goal threat than all but two strikers in the league this season.

Santi Cazorla slips down the rankings, then, damaged by the emergence of both Theo Walcott and Oliver Giroud as coverage of Arsenal’s attacking potential. Both Juan Mata and Raheem Sterling climb above the Gunners man with form on Mata’s side and fixtures and price boosting Sterling over the coming weeks. Arguably the 17-year-old demands selection over a number of heavy-hitters, given his role up front with Luis Suarez in an improving side with obliging opponents to come.

Antonio Valencia is your highest differential in the rankings – he threatens to overtake a stuttering Gareth Bale given United’s fixtures, although the obvious coverage offered by Robin Van Persie will likely keep Valencia from making our top five this season.

City’s David Silva and Arsenal’s Theo Walcott are other names threatening to break up the template midfields and may tempt some early adopters. Silva is perhaps the most interesting option as he offers an alternative to both Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez to free up a precious slot in our forward line.

Forwards

There’s no moving Robin Van Persie ahead of his run of incredibly favourable fixtures that will surely promise further heavy returns. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez, another on the verge of a one-match ban, is Van Persie’s nearest rival right now, with similarly strong fixtures and form in his favour. Fulham’s Dimitar Berbatov completes the top three – while his fixtures are against him, Saturday’s brace at the Emirates proved that Fulham’s attacking verve and the Bulgarian’s class are hard to resist – regardless of opposition. Berbatov’s price surely cements him as the third striker option of choice.

There’s a world of uncertainty below this with Demba Ba stuttering somewhat with just a single goal in five starts, while question marks remain over the potency and security of the City frontline after recent struggles. That keeps both Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez out of our top three, with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud threatening a further climb if he can build on the confidence boosting brace in the 3-3 with Fulham.

Rickie Lambert is revived by strong fixtures in the budget bracket, with Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher also returning to the radar as his double Gameweek approaches.

INTERNATIONAL WEEK ROUND UP

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/gerrard_scribbles_4_big.jpg

Luis Suarez grabs a goal and a pair of assists in Uruguay’s win over Poland. Juan Mata provides an assist in Spain’s rout of Panama before making way at half-time, Christian Benteke is amongst the goals again for Belgium, while Sergio Aguero plays the full 90 minutes in Argentina’s goalless draw with Saudi Arabia. Here’s a quick round-up of last night’s game time for the Premier League protagonists:

Luis Suarez’s scintillating form shows little sign of letting up. He had a hand in all three of Uruguay’s goals last night, providing two assists and scoring the third in a 3-1 win in Poland. With a home clash against Wigan on the agenda, he’s already been snapped up in huge numbers – having come through last night’s match without injury, more investment can be expected.

Spain’s 5-1 win in Panama saw Juan Mata maintain his recent form by supplying an assist for his side’s third just prior to half-time –his Fantasy owners will be delighted to hear he was given just 45 minutes and was replaced at the break. Santi Cazorla’s owners will be even happier to discover the Arsenal playmaker was an unused sub last night, though both face a long-haul flight back home.

Having opened the scoring for Spurs at City last Sunday, Steven Caulker demonstrated his eye for goal by grabbing England’s second in last night’s 4-2 defeat by Sweden. Danny Welbeck also found the net for the visitors, while Jonas Olsson, Seb Larsson and Alex Kacaniklic all started for the hosts.

England Starting XI: Hart, Johnson (Jenkinson 75), Cahill, Caulker (Shawcross 75), Baines, Gerrard (Huddlestone 75), Osman, Cleverly (Wilshere 62), Sterling (Zaha 84), Welbeck, Young (Sturridge 61)

Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye was an unused sub in France’s 2-1 win in Italy. Reports suggest the midfielder is now doubtful for the Magpies weekend home clash due to a groin problem sustained in last Sunday’s home defeat by West Ham. Hugo Lloris, Laurent Koscielny, Patrice Evra and Olivier Giroud all started for France, with the latter subbed off just after the hour mark ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s north London derby. Mario Balotelli played the full 90 for the beaten hosts.

Newcastle fans will be pleased to hear Cheick Tiote came through unscathed in Ivory Coast’s 3-0 win in Austria. Yaya and Kolo Toure both featured for the visitors – the latter was handed a 20 minute sub appearance in a match than also saw Villa’s weekend goal hero Andreas Weimann climb off the bench for the hosts.

Villa’s Christian Benteke continued his eye-catching recent form with Belgium’s opener in a surprise 2-1 defeat away to Romania. Simon Mignolet, Vincent Kompany, Jan Vertonghen and Marouane Fellaini were also amongst the starters for the beaten side, while West Brom’s Romelu Lukaku replaced Benteke just before the hour mark.

Sergio Aguero, Fabricio Coloccini and Pablo Zabaleta all played the entire match in Argentina’s bore draw with Saudi Arabia – the most notable event being the a debut for Wigan’s Franco Di Santo. The latter’s team mate Jean Beausejour started for Chile at home to Serbia; the visitors won 3-1, with Branislav Ivanovic and Matija Nastasic playing from start to finish – and Aleksandar Kolarov was withdrawn at half-time. West Brom’s Gonzalo Jara also featured for the hosts, while United’s new forward Angelo Henriquez climbed off the bench to notch his side’s consolation.

Brede Hangeland came through the full 90 minutes for Norway as they clinched a 2-0 win in Hungary. Fulham team mate Mark Schwarzer also played the full game as Australia triumphed 2-1 in South Korea, while Liverpool’s Nuri Sahin was subbed off five minutes from the end of Turkey’s home draw with Denmark.

Germany’s goalless draw with Holland saw a couple of Premier League centre-halves go head-to-head. Ron Vlaar and Per Mertesacker played the full match, while Lukas Podolski made an 18-minute sub appearance for the Joachim Lowe’s side. Spurs’ Emmanuel Adebayor scored the only goal in Togo’s win over Morocco.

West Ham’s Winston Reid was handed 77 minutes in New Zealand’s 1-1 draw with China, while Russia’s home clash with USA saw two Premier League regulars feature. Mark Schwarzer lasted the full match and Stoke’s Geoff Cameron was replaced after 87 minutes. Shola Ameobi made his debut for Nigeria in a 3-1 win over Venezuela, furthering his chances of appearing in this January’s African Cup of Nations.

After several midweek call-offs, Scotland fielded three Premier League players for last night’s win in Luxembourg, with Darren Fletcher, Steven Whittaker and Steven Naismith all playing the full match.

Republic of Ireland handed four Premier League players the full 90. John O’Shea, Ciaran Clark and Seamus Coleman featured in defence in the 1-0 home defeat by Greece, while James McClean was afforded a chance on the flank. The likes of Glenn Whelan, James McCarthy and Shane Long were subbed off in the second-half, while Wes Hoolahan was handed a chance to impress from the bench.

Northern Ireland drew 1-1 at home with Azerbaijan in a World Cup qualifier. Gareth McAuley, Aaron Hughes, Chris Baird, Shane Ferguson, Chris Brunt and Steven Davis all came through unscathed. Elsewhere in World Cup qualifiers, Ali Al Habsi and Maya Yoshida went head-to-head, as Oman lost 2-1 at home to Japan.

Chelsea’s trio of Brazilians – Ramires, David Luiz and Oscar all started in Brazil’s 1-1 draw with Columbia. While the former pair played the full 90, Oscar was subbed off with three minutes remaining. Man City’s Edin Dzeko and Stoke’s Asmir Begovic turned out for Bosnia in a farce of a game in Algeria, played out on a waterlogged pitch – the visitors eventually won the game in the final minute.

TENERIFE FORUM FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATE GAMEWEEK 12

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/update_post_it_note_png_dock_icon_by_jayhawkx-d545gsy.png

GAMEWEEK 12 saw a lot of big changes in the Tenerife Forum Classic league with some unbelievable scoring going on,a Gameweek that certainly has put the cat amongst the pigeons so to speak, the GW Average score was 52 points but as always we here at the Tenerife Forum always do a little better than that. The big scorers this week were Red Bullets who powered in with an incredible 80 points..YIKES!! Following close behind we had adejereds on 73 points, the Knights hit a stunning 67 points,landlords11 hit 59 points, keepitpolishedforus 57 points and The Ultras 56 points....Very well done guys that is superb scoring that is.:bowdown::bowdown:

Worst scorer by a country mile was my lot who limped home with a paltry 24 points :redcard: less said about that the better me thinks lol....

Tablewise we still have the Ultras staying top for the 12 th week running,i remain 2nd but we are closely followed by multiplescoregasms in 3rd,Untouchables stay 4th with keepitpolishedforus up one to 5th,Choke the chicken drops one spot to 6th.At the foot of the table the same 3 teams stay were they were the previous week,Murphs marauders,TJ Allstars and rooted is the Knights but they did have an amazing week, which just shows that anyone can score massive on any given Gameweek.

TENERIFE FORUM CLASSIC LEAGUE TABLE UPDATED (GAMEWEEK 12)

The Head to head table also saw a lot of movement this week and we have a new leader of the head to head (The Untouchables):tiphat:,it's looking really tight in this one this season with a whole host of teams beating each other and not a lot of points between a lot of the teams,a couple of wins here and there will skyrocket any club here that finds form.

FRISKING THE FIXTURES GAMEWEEK 13
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/sunderland2011.jpg

Once again we roll out the weekly regular to assess the “strength of schedule” over the next four to six Gameweeks. With confidence flowing after Gameweek 12 victories, both Sunderland and Southampton will be buoyed by some enticing home matches on the horizon, while United and Arsenal also square up to potentially prosperous fixtures. On the flipside, Everton and West Ham look set for rough rides, with Chelsea and City also provided with stern short-term tests….

Sunderland

An upturn in fixtures coincides with a confidence-boosting win at Fulham for the Black Cats. With four home games in the next four, including a double Gameweek 16 (WBA, QPR, nor, CHE & RDG), many Fantasy managers will be prepared to snap up one or two of Sunderland’s assets. Certainly, their home defensive form suggests returns could be on the cards – they have conceded three goals in four matches at the Stadium of Light this term, a fact that will no doubt see Simon Mignolet, Carlos Cuellar and Phil Bardsley propelled onto Fantasy radars.

Up top, Steven Fletcher’s goal and assist at the Cottage will reignite faith in his attacking potential. With six goals and an assist over his 10 appearances, he has played a part in 70% of his side’s goals and has averaged six FPL points per game so far. Adam Johnson, with attacking returns in each of his last two, is starting to hint at a step up in form, while Stephane Sessegnon’s superb strike served a reminder of the displays that harvested seven goals and 12 assists last term.

Southampton

Four points from their last two leads Nigel Adkins’ outfit into a crucial run which sees them face three home games in the next four. The Saints welcome Newcastle, Norwich and Reading to St Mary’s and having stepped up with a win at QPR last Saturday, they will surely be in confident mood ahead of the Magpies’ visit this weekend.

While the backline continue to concede in every match played so far, investment further up the field looks a potentially prosperous ploy. Jason Puncheon seems to have cemented a role on the right once again – his goal and assist at Loftus Road, allied with a 4.5 FPL price tag, has earned him plenty new suitors already. Adam Lallana and Gaston Ramirez are options in the mid-price bracket, while Rickie Lambert has produced a goal and assist over the last couple of Gameweeks and looks to be hitting edging back to form at the right time.
Man United

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side will be desperate to bounce back from the shock defeat at Norwich last Saturday and are afforded the perfect opportunity, as basement-dwellers QPR roll up to Old Trafford this weekend. United then have two home games in the following four, with West Ham and Sunderland also paying visit, and with a trip to Reading also on their agenda, the omens look good.

Robin Van Persie seems a strong captaincy contender across those fixtures – having been rested for the midweek Champions League match against Galatasaray, the Dutchman will be fresh and raring to go after a rare blank at Carrow Road, while Wayne Rooney is also expected to return, after tonsillitis kept him out on Saturday. Rafael’s owners will be hoping he can pick up attacking returns, with clean sheets looking beyond the Red Devils right now, while Antonio Valencia – with no returns in the last three – is handed the platform to produce the goods again.
Swansea

Buoyed by a weekend win at Newcastle, Michael Laudrup’s side face three fixtures in front of their own fans over the next four before the schedule starts to stiffen. The Swans welcome Liverpool, West Brom and Norwich to the Liberty and also have a trip to Arsenal in their agenda – while the trio of home matches may not be the easiest, Michu’s owners will be happy to hold. An injury to Ki Sung-Yeung forced a reshuffle which saw the Spaniard drop back into “the hole” for the St James’ Park match and he duly obliged with the opener. Having found the net in four of his six appearances at the Liberty, his appeal is obvious.

Pablo Hernandez continues to offer a midfield alternative to his compatriot. The former Valencia man has scored in each of his last two at home and with an assist last weekend, has averaged six points per game over the last five fixtures, while Jonathan de Guzman has outgunned Michu 25 to 23 over the last five Gameweeks and is another on-song midfielder for Laudrup right. At the back, however, Swansea’s run of no clean sheets in 10 is indicative of their lack of defensive resilience.

Also Consider

Aston Villa – three home games in the next four affords Paul Lambert’s side to bounce back from their 5-0 Etihad thrashing. While the visit of Arsenal may prove problematic, the midlanders also welcome Reading and Stoke, with a trip to QPR sandwiched in between. Christian Benteke, with attacking returns in three of the last four, looks the obvious option for Fantasy managers on the search for a mid-price forward differential, though Andreas Weimann’s brace against United suggests he could come to the fore if he continues to nail down a starting berth.

Arsenal – the Gunners may have only two home clashes in the next six but, aside from a Gameweek 14 trip to Everton, their schedule seems more than favourable. Visits to Villa, Reading and Wigan should hold little fear for the north London outfit, while home clashes against Swansea and West Brom offer the chance to get their bid for a top four spot back on track. Santi Cazorla’s owners will be more than content to hold, bearing in mind his best points hauls have come on the road, while Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have all produced returns in their last two. The latter has been sidelined for Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Montpellier due to a shoulder problem, though, suggesting he may be a doubt for Saturday’s trip to Villa.

Tottenham – Four defeats in five have lowered expectations around the Lane but Andre Villas-Boas’ side are now set to face four home games in the next six. Much may depend on the return of Moussa Dembele – Spurs had previously won all four of the games the Belgian has started and his presence in central midfield is clearly crucial to his side’s prospects. Nevertheless, with West Ham, Liverpool, Swansea and Stoke all paying visit, faith in Gareth Bale will remain resolute, while Jermain Defoe is set to start at least the next three after Emmanuel Adebayor’s red card at Arsenal.

The Weak

Everton

A kind opening schedule has helped David Moyes’ side banish their customary slow start and edge their way into fifth spot but the fixture list is about to turn sticky for the Toffees. Everton entertain the league’s in-form defence this weekend, as Norwich make their way to Goodison, and while that is unlikely to worry their Fantasy owners too much, the Merseysiders also face Arsenal and Spurs at home, with tricky trips to City, Stoke and West Ham also between now and Gameweek 18.

Marouane Fellaini’s one-match suspension this weekend is already seeing him sold on by significant numbers, while many are starting to question the worth of Leighton Baines, with the Toffees registering just two clean sheets all season. Bearing in mind they sit second in FPL for midfielders and defenders respectively, getting rid doesn’t come without risk – they did, after all, produce 19 points between them again United earlier this term. With one goal in his last five, though, Nikica Jelavic’s owners will also be pondering his value over the new few fixtures.

West Ham

There’s simply no let-up for the Hammers over the next few Gameweeks as the schedule continues to look ridden with danger. Unbeaten in their last three, Sam Allardyce’s side are in decent form but now face four of the top five in the next six Gameweeks. Up next are back-to-back trips to Spurs and United and with a visit to West Brom supplemented by home showdowns against Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton, the festive period could be set to bite hard.

Kevin Nolan’s Fantasy owners will be a little apprehensive, bearing in mind he has now produced attacking returns in one of his last four at Upton Park, while a single clean sheet in five home games may have Jussi Jaaskelainen’s owners on edge. Plenty will now get rid of Guy Demel, with two brief sub appearances and the displays of Joey O’Brien keeping him on the periphery of the Hammers first XI.

West Brom

Steve Clarke’s side have just one home fixture in the next four – a tricky Hawthorns clash with neighbours Stoke. The Baggies are on their travels three times, then, with visits to Sunderland, Swansea and Arsenal on their short-term agenda before the schedule starts to smile a little kinder in Gameweek 17. With a single clean sheet in their last seven, faith in West Brom’s backline hasn’t been rewarded in recent matches, though James Morrison has shown a consistency on his travels, producing attacking returns in two of his last three on the road. Shane Long’s owners have reason to be wary; although he has scored or assisted in all seven home appearances, Long has produced attacking returns just once away from home this season.

Steve i am struggling at the moment,as i said further up the thread my team was decimated last week with injuries suspensions and Cahill Vemaelen dropped and Tevez coming off the bench so it is probably a good time to play me in the head to head, the strange thing is the weeks i scored well in the h2h i lose but this week i beat the Texas Knights because they took a massive hit with 7 transfers! Good luck this week in our match :respect:

Wow.!!!What a crazy gameweek that last one was, this is the type of week that really does blow leagues wide wide open, some absolutely fantastic scores for some, yet some real shockers for others, the GW average was a mere 48 points yet we here at the Tenerife Forum again blew that apart.Top scorer for this Gameweek was Texas Knights who hit a mind numbing 78 points :wow: (that is one beast of a score that, well done) multiplescoregasms plundered 75 points with Agua Dulce Reds piling in with a 70,Untouchables and The Ice Bats both hit 67 points, and Red Bullets 65 points...These are frighteningly high scores and i want to say i am uber impressed....That is really great to see guys, keep it going.:bowdown::bowdown:

League standings in the top 6 have moved considerably this week,Als Ultras remain strong and stay top for the 15th week running, some going that is too (well done Al),upto 2nd go Untouchables, multiplescoregasms also on the up as they hit 3rd,Agua Dulce Reds have found solid form and they are also on the up (3 spots to 4th)keepitpolishedforus goes upto 5th with this weeks massive faller my own Col Nil Satis Fc down to 6th (Gah:crazy:).

At the foot of the table the Knights somehow stay bottom but that was some week for the Knights, they now put pressure on TJS ALLSTARS who are 2nd from bottom, with westmidstykes struggling a wee bit at 3rd bottom.I would say though that it is possible to gain massive points over the oncoming weeks and as we have seen, anyone is capable of doing it....Keep your chins up those that are near the bottom, there is a long long way to go.

Well another Gameweek comes and goes and again we have had what can only be described as a barnstorming week of scoring at the Tenerife Forum, our members consistently smash the average Gameweek score and that has happened yet again..Gameweek average ended at 51 points which in itself is a good score but we always aim higher, this weeks big hitters were Kirstys Multiplescoregasms who really is on a charge now,a massive 76 points haul for her mob,Andrew Clarkes Choke the chicken hit 74 points, next up we have Caribe Celtic who scored a hefty 72 points(nice one Barry),my own Col nil Satis fc scored 72 also, other big scorers were keepitpolishedforus 69 points and Red Bullets 68 points(really impressive scores these guys, bloody fantastic to see).

Top of the table we have the ultra consistent Tenerife Ultras who have now topped this table for 16 weeks running (That in itself is unbelievable,so well done Al),Untouchables and Multiplescoregasms remain 2nd and 3rd respectively,Choke the Chicken goes upto 4th at the expense of Agua Dulce Reds who drop one to 5th,Col Nil Satis remains in 6th.

At the foot of the table the bottom 3 all stayed as is with westmidstykesters 3rd bottom, below him are TJ ALLSTARS,with the Knights still rock bottom....some good scoring from these fellas and they will soon rise in the tables,so keep up the faith...

We are now entering the festive period and this is where we will see major changes in the tables as the games start to come at a much faster rate, there is a wildcard window coming up soon too,so i will keep you all posted when i find out when the wildcard is open...(Watch this space)

Man United’s upcoming run of games looks set to see plenty investment thrown their way over the festive period. Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal all look enticing options, though Newcastle and Sunderland are set for a testing time ahead as we assess the strength of schedule over the next four to six Gameweeks:

The Strong

Man United

Six points clear at the top of the table after Sunday’s win at City, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side are afforded the perfect opportunity to rack up the points in their bid to retain the title. United are now set to welcome Sunderland, Newcastle and West Brom to Old Trafford and also travel to Swansea and Wigan in their next five fixtures – a schedule that is surely set to earn their main Fantasy assets significant investment.

Wayne Rooney has more than matched Robin Van Persie’s performances over their nine starts together and is picking up in ownership after back-to-back doubles, though the Dutchman’s consistency is likely to earn him the armband across those matches. Rafael came to the fore last weekend with a pair of assists and is third top scoring Fantasy Premier League (FPL) player for United with 63 points, though with Chris Smalling and Phil Jones pushing for starting roles, the Brazilian may suffer from rest and rotation over the busy festive period. With injuries and poor form blighting the midfield, it’s hard to look beyond Rooney and Van Persie as the most secure route into Ferguson’s lineup right now.

Tottenham

Andre Villas-Boas will be looking for a response after Spurs succumbed to a late Everton comeback at Goodison last Sunday. The London outfit had won their previous three upon the return to action of Mousa Dembele and will be keen to capitalise on a superb run of games. Swansea and Stoke roll up to the Lane in the next two before Spurs then face four of the bottom five (avl, sun, RDG, qpr) in consecutive Gameweeks.

Gareth Bale may even be back as soon as this Sunday, according to his manager, and has slipped from 9.9 to 9.6 in FPL over the last week, while Jermain Defoe is just two points behind the Welshman– a clear sign of his consistency this term. Villas-Boas’ decision to roll out a 4-4-2 at Everton, with Emmanuel Adebayor partnering Defoe up top, may be bad news for Clint Dempsey upon Bale’s comeback, while the impending return of Benoit Assou-Ekotto raises too many question marks over Villas-Boas’ likely back-four. With a single clean sheet since Gameweek 7, though, not many Fantasy managers will be overly enthused with the Tottenham defence.

Liverpool

Brendan Rodgers’ side continued their recent upturn in form with an impressive win at West Ham last Sunday – all the more so given they were without the suspended Luis Suarez. With the Uruguayan now available again, Liverpool welcome Villa, Fulham and Sunderland to Anfield in the next five, with a trip to QPR also on their short-term agenda.

With a single goal conceded in their last five at Anfield, defensive returns look appealing – Glen Johnson shifted onto the radar after a stunning strike against the Hammers, though Jose Enrique should return this weekend after being subbed off as a precaution at Upton Park. Raheem Sterling’s cut-price appeal continues to earn the winger new investment, while Steven Gerrard’s more advanceD role since the return of Lucas may persuade those looking for a differential to take a chance. Suarez looks a real armband option for those home games, though it’s worth noting he has found the net in only three of his eight Anfield appearances so far.

Arsenal

The Gunners’ schedule remains strong – whether their main Fantasy assets can take advantage is another matter entirely. Nevertheless, they’ll be buoyed by a run of games which sees them travel to Reading, Wigan and Southampton in the next five in addition to home clashes with West Ham and Newcastle. Arsene Wenger’s side will be looking to build on last Saturday’s home win over West Brom, though Olivier Giroud is a concern – he was ruled out of last night’s Capital One Cup clash with Bradford due to a back injury.

With Theo Walcott still sidelined, hopes will be resting on Santo Cazorla to pick up the returns after a disappointing recent run, though Gervinho may come into the equation as the lone forward if Giroud is out for any length of time. Mikel Arteta’s role as spot-kick taker is frustrating – while he notched a pair of penalties in the weekend win over West Brom, the Spaniard had previously scored once all season.

Also Consider

West Brom – home clashes with West Ham and Norwich, in addition to a trip to QPR in the next three, offer Steve Clarke’s side a chance to return to winning ways after three straight losses. Clarke’s penchant for rotation has dented his side’s appeal of late but if they are arrest their slide down the table, the likes of Shane Long, James Morrison and Chris Brunt could be crucial. With a single clean sheet since Gameweek 5, faith in their backline continues to dissipate.

Fulham – a much-needed morale boosting win over Newcastle takes Martin Jol’s side into a run of fixtures which offers them three strong looking home ties (SOT, SWA, WIG) and a trip to QPR in the next six Gameweeks. Dimitar Berbatov may have struck five successive blanks but his performance against the Magpies still looked promising – Damien Duff has now overtaken the Bulgarian in the FPL standings and looks a decent shout at 6.1 in FPL. With one clean sheet in their last eight, John Arne Riise’s owners may be reliant on his creativity and corner kick duties to bolster his score unless the Cottagers can find a little more resilience at the back.

Man City – Sunday’s derby defeat will have dented their confidence but the champions’ schedule affords Roberto Mancini reason to be optimistic over the festive period. Home clashes against Reading and Stoke are supplemented by trips to out-of-sorts Newcastle and Sunderland and with City now six points behind United, Mancini simply can afford no more slip-ups. A backline that conceded three in nine games prior to United’s visit will be hoping Vincent Kompany can recover from a groin injury – Matija Nastasic may be guaranteed game time if the Belgian is ruled out and, while David Silva looks a guaranteed midfield starter, Mancini’s forward tinkering continues to prove hugely frustrating from a Fantasy persecptive.

The Weak

Newcastle

Monday’s defeat extended the Magpies’ recent poor run of form to just a single win in their last 10 matches and the upcoming schedule is likely to deter many. Alan Pardew’s side are now set to face City, United, Arsenal, Everton and Norwich in their next six, with only a Gameweek 18 home clash against QPR offering any respite.

Demba Ba’s owners will be a little apprehensive despite his sensational start to the season – with plenty other forwards afforded strong festive fixtures, he may struggle for further investment. At the back, a defence that has registered two clean sheets so far will offer plenty hope to their upcoming opponents, while Hatem Ben Arfa’s return from injury and subsequent goal against Fulham may bring the Frenchman back onto radars, now that Pardew has reverted to 4-3-3.

Norwich

Chris Hughton’s side have a tricky run of fixtures ahead but clearly have the form to overcome them. While a home clash with Wigan this weekend looks an ideal opportunity to extend their nine-game unbeaten run, the Canaries them face trips to West Brom and West Ham, while welcoming City and Chelsea to Carrow Road in the following four.

With four straight wins in front of their own fans, though, including victories over United and Arsenal, Hughton will be far from fazed with the festive schedule, while last weekend’s 4-3 win over Swansea saw an upturn in attacking potential as confidence continues to course through the Canaries. Having conceded in each of their last four, the clean sheets have started to dry up, though the likes of Robert Snodgrass (double figures in two of his last three) and Anthony Pilkington (double figures in each of his last two home games) have suggested they could still prosper.

Sunderland

The Black Cats will be buoyed after seeing off Reading last night but Martin O’Neill’s side now steel themselves for a schedule that could well dent their bid for survival and leave them struggling as we enter the New Year. Up next, O’Neill’s men face United, City, Spurs and Liverpool in the next five and with a trip to a resurgent Southampton also on the cards, it’s difficult to afford them any optimism, as Fantasy managers quickly dispense of their double Gameweek assets. Stephane Sessegnon, Steven Fletcher and Adam Johnson look on course to shed plenty ownership as we reassess out Fantasy options ahead of the packed fixture schedule.

Also Be Wary Of

Stoke – a goalless draw at Villa earned Tony Pulis’ side their eighth clean sheet in 16 Gameweeks but the next few fixtures look a real test of their defensive mettle. The Potters now square up to Everton, Spurs, Liverpool, City and Chelsea in the next six Gameweeks – owners of Asmir Begovic and Ryan Shawcross could struggle for returns in the short-term, while an attack that has produced six goals in the last eight is offered little respite to pick up in performance.

Wigan – the Latics are geared for a tough run of games that could well see them struggle for points over the next few. Wigan have shipped at least two goals in each of their previous six and with matches against Norwich, Arsenal, Everton and United on the horizon, Ali Al-Habsi may be reliant on save points to bolster his score over December. Arouna Kone remains the Latics’ top FPL scorer but one goal since Gameweek 7 sums up his current form.

Another tough head to head this gameweek for my team.
Up against David's 'Untouchables', who are top of the head to head and 2nd in the main league, a big challenge for my Bumblers.
No game for Chelsea and so decided to put my 3 Chelsea players on the bench.

Best wishes and good luck David, although I don't think you'll need it. :tiphat:

THE WATCHLIST UPDATED

Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney lead the way in our newly-updated rankings as United prepare for a superb run of fixtures which offers both plenty opportunity to continue their goalscoring form. Liverpool and Tottenham continue to play a significant part in our thoughts as we roll out our regular refresh of the next four to six Gameweeks…

Goalkeepers

Wojciech Szczesny retains his lofty position, with the Pole perhaps offering the most secure mid-price route into Arsenal’s backline. With two clean sheets in his last four, Szczesny now faces trips to Wigan, Reading and Southampton in the next five, with West Ham and West Brom both making their way to the Emirates.

Mark Schwarzer remains very much in our thinking as Fulham prepare for three strong home fixtures (SOT, SWA, WIG) and a trip to QPR in the next six. While there are perhaps better options in the Cottagers back-four, Schwarzer has chalked up more FPL points than any of Martin Jol’s defenders, with save points boosting his cause.

Hugo Lloris takes a climb in our estimations in light of Tottenham’s upcoming schedule. The Frenchman now has three strong home games (SWA, STO, REA) in addition to trips to Villa, Sunderland and QPR in the next six – he has now started each of the last five and seems to have nudged Brad Friedel out of the first-team reckoning at the Lane.

Pepe Reina also climbs, with Liverpool set for an enticing run of matches. The Spaniard will likely see less suitors than defensive team mates such as Glen Johnson and Jose Enrique, though, with the full-back pair offering the chance of attacking returns. Rest and rotation at United prevents us from being able to nail down a keeper option, while Ben Foster would also feature if he overcomes his groin injury ahead of an enticing schedule for the Baggies.

Joe Hart offers a secure route into a City defence that had conceded three goals in nine prior to the Manchester derby. With Vincent Kompany expected to shake off the groin problem that forced him off against United, City’s chances of keeping out opponents looks strong over the next few, with Hart an enticing option for those who are prepared to splash the cash on a pricey keeper.

Asmir Begovic slips in our rankings due to a tricky run of fixtures for Stoke, though the Potters are more than capable of freezing out their opponents and adding to their eight clean sheets, while Villa’s Brad Guzan, with one goal conceded in his last four, edges his way into our thinking.

Defenders

With three enticing home fixtures (AVL, FUL, SUN) and trips to Stoke and QPR in the next five, Liverpool’s backline looks primed for investment. Glen Johnson staked a claim for inclusion after his strike at West Ham last weekend – with four clean sheets in the last five at Anfield, Brendan Rodgers’ side have been particularly tight at home. Jose Enrique also remains in our thoughts – he was subbed off at Upton Park purely as a precautionary measure, according to his manager.

Staying on Merseyside, Leighton Baines continues to feature highly in our refresh. The Everton left-back sits just two points off the top of the FPL defender rankings, despite failing to keep a clean sheet since Gameweek 5. Jan Vertonghen is our Spurs defender of choice for the afore-mentioned run of fixtures. With Benoit Assou-Ekotto now back in first-team training, doubts hang over Andre Villas-Boas’ first-choice backline, raising concerns over cheaper options such as Michael Dawson and Steven Caulker.

Rafael climbs once again ahead of United’s upcoming run of games. Confidence in the Brazilian rose after he maintained his starting berth for the Manchester derby – despite being subbed off early against Reading, he still looks to be first-choice at right-back, then. While concerns remain over United’s ability to produce clean sheets, Rafael’s attacking potential keeps him high in the Watchlist – only Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie have bettered his four assists for the league leaders so far.

Kieran Gibbs offers a mid-price route into the Arsenal back-four, though there may still be a chance of rotation when Laurent Koscielny returns, with Thomas Vermaelen’s versatility at left-back keeping Gibbs from being nailed-on. Matija Nastasic has now started eight of City’s last nine and continues to look well ahead of Joleon Lescott in the pecking order – at 5.6 in FPL, the teenager offers a far less expensive option than Vincent Kompany and looks a more secure starter than most under Roberto Mancini. Seb Bassong’s recent eye for goal – three strikes in his last four – keep him in our thoughts, in spite of a tough looking run of fixtures ahead for Norwich, while Gareth McAuley ousts Liam Ridgewell as West Brom defender of choice after the latter lasted just five minutes in the weekend defeat at Arsenal before sustaining an ankle injury.

Back-to-back home games (WHU, NOR) and a trip to QPR look prosperous for the Baggies, while John Arne Riise offers the best chance of points at both ends of the pitch in Fulham’s defence. The Norwegian will be looking to add to his four assists, with a share of corner kicks boosting his appeal, though Aaron Hughes affords a cheaper rout into Martin Jol’s defence. Branislav Ivanovic has played every minute under Rafa Benitez so far – his ranking is affected by this weekend’s blank, while a trio of cut-price protagonists further down are also worth considering.

Ryan Nelsen has averaged six points per game since Harry Redknapp’s installation at QPR, Ciaran Clark’s threat in the opposition box boosts his appeal as the fixtures soon begin to ease for Villa, while Nicky Shorey stays in the picture, with his corner kick duties and left flank delivery still creating chances for his Reading team mates.

Midfielders

Marouane Fellaini remains a non-mover at the top of the midfield refresh, with his superb recent form simply too good to ignore. Michu is tucked in behind the Belgian after back-to-back doubles took his season;s tally to 12 goals – his owners will be delighted to hear he failed to earn the caution in this evening’s Capital One Cup match which would have earned him a one-match suspension at the weekend. He lives to fight another day, then.

Raheem Sterling’s mid-price appeal keeps him in the top three ahead of Liverpool’s run of fine fixtures, with the youngster still offering strong value amongst Brendan Rodgers’ midfield regulars. Arsenal pair Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott still have strong fixtures to produce – although the latter will be hoping to shake off a calf injury before next Monday’s trip to Reading, it’s fair to say confidence is hardly high in the Arsenal camp right now. Elsewhere in north London, Gareth Bale could come back from a hamstring injury this weekend against Swansea, according to his manager – a return to action would see the Welshman climb further in our estimations.

Manchester duo David Silva and Antonio Valencia will both be keen to take advantage of their upcoming schedules. Silva offers guaranteed game time – something that can’t quite be said of City’s frontmen – and Valencia may appeal to those Fantasy managers looking for cheaper alternatives to Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney. He’ll need to pick up in performance if he’s to climb further, though, with only four assists to his name to date.

Lower down the rankings, a raft of mid-price alternatives may be set to prosper. Jon Walters has two goals in his last five, while James Morrison will be hoping the injury situation eases at West Brom, allowing him a return to his role in “the hole”. Adel Taarabt may yet be the key to QPR’s first win and we’re keeping faith with the Moroccan for the time being, with some kind short-term fixtures offering him a chance to prosper.

Juan Mata’s form and the cut-price appeal of Jason Puncheon keep both players in our refresh – no doubt they’d be further up the rankings if either had a fixture this weekend.

Forwards

United pair Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney take the top two spots ahead of a run of five games that looks hugely appealing. With back-to-back doubles, Rooney looks a real rival for our Fantasy affections, though the Dutchman’s consistency helps him hold onto pole position.

Back after a one-match suspension last weekend, Luis Suarez re-enters the top three. Home clashes against Villa and Fulham afford the Liverpool forward the chance to pick up the points after three successive blanks. Jermain Defoe remains out Spurs forward of choice, though Andre Villas-Boas’ decision to move to 4-4-2 could prove beneficial to Emmanuel Adebayor’s chances as the north London outfit look to recover from their Goodison defeat.

We keep faith in Dimitar Berbatov ahead of Fulham’s festive schedule, though there’s no doubt the loss of Bryan Ruiz has proved detrimental to the Bulgarian’s potential. While Roberto Mancini’s continual tinkering lessens the appeal of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero, they have the fixtures to produce, should they be afforded an extended first-team opportunity.

Arsenal’s schedule keeps Olivier Giroud in our thoughts – he’ll be hoping to shake off the back problem that ruled him out of the Gunners’ midweek cup defeat at Bradford. Demba Ba and Steven Fletcher both take a tumble as the fixture list stiffens dramatically for Newcastle and Sunderland, while a return to scoring ways last weekend earns Grant Holt a spot in the lower echelons.: he is our current budget striker of choice with Rickie Lambert missing his Gameweek 17 fixture.

Time for our weekly update for the Tenerife Forum Fantasy Football leagues, that was one hell of a gameweek that,a week that started so slow for many managers with scores looking bleak to say the least,no big hitters were scoring goals, assists were thin on the ground and all in all it felt like a washout for many managers.....but one man stole the thunder this week and that man was Santi Cazorla,a GW in which he scored 46 points if you were lucky enough to have him as your captain..GAH! Unfortunately i had sold the guy 2 weeks ago :(

But moving on from that,we again saw some thunderous scoring going on at the Tenerife Forum,Gameweek average was 44 points,a solid score...But as i always say we can do a lot better than that.....Top scorer this week was TJS ALLSTARS who hammered home an almighty 85 POINTS :c2::c2::c2: (OMFG that is a brilliant brilliant score) Murphs Marauders scored a hefty 57 points (Nice one Dave),multiplescoregasms and Choke the Chicken both hit 54 points, followed by the Ultras and the Knights who both hit 50...(Well done as always guys)

Top 6 have changed ever so slightly this GW,The Ultras stay top (18 weeks now Al,Yikes man you are Mr consistent this season),multiplescoregasms (2nd) overtakes Untouchables who drop one place to (3rd),Choke the Chicken stays (4th) Col Nil Satis went up one spot to (5th) with keepitpolishedforus also up one place to (6th)

Bottom of the table changed a lot this Gameweek,TJS Allstars climb up 2 places and is nearly out of the relegation zone(upto 3rd bottom),one place below is westmidstykesters with the Knights dropping back to the foot of the table...Murph,Bumble and Red Star Taylormade are now in TJS midst and the chase is on.

GAMEWEEK 18 FIXTURES

http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r525/col59/screenshot_00005_zps202a443e.png

Overall a really good gameweek that was and it just shows that the big scores are out there,Gameweek 18,19,20 and 21 all come along at fast intervals now so make sure you keep tabs on your squad over the next 14 days or so,managers start tinkering heavily with there squads over the Xmas period so be smart with your picks,Gameweek 18 sees the cup competition start and i will try keep us updated with our members that qualify from the next round etc,the cup works like this (The top 2 million managers go into the Fantasy cup,you get drawn against another qualifier and it is a straight Knockout situation (Highest Gw Score goes through) so be careful and do not take massive hits, anyways i am rambling on now so i will close.....have a good GW guys and best of luck this coming weekend.I will update with some Scout info either Thursday or Friday so watch this space...Happy Fantasy Footying :)

THE WATCHLIST UPDATED GAMEWEEK 18 FROM THE SCOUT

The postponement of Arsenal’s Boxing Day clash has a marked effect on our Christmas Watchlist rankings, with Arsene Wenger’s assets stalling in our thinking, despite a convincing win at Reading last time out. That paves the way for familiar heavy-hitters to return to the upper echelons in midfield, while at the back and up front, the status quo remains. Our updated rankings are now available in your right sidebar; read on for details behind the big movers…

Goalkeepers

The goalkeeper situation remains a minefield for Fantasy managers, with seemingly ever-decreasing options in the mid-price and budget areas who can promise returns. An effective rotation pairing looks hard to find, with a “one stop shop” solution looking a more favourable route right now, at least until injuries clear.

The likes of Joe Hart and Hugo Lloris can also be considered as single solutions to the keeper conundrum but, while they have form and fixtures with them, their price tags are major obstacles and, arguably, there are more attractive routes to covering the City and Spurs defence.

Despite missing the Boxing Day Gameweek, Wojciech Szczesny remains in our thinking by virtue of offering the most secure route into an Arsenal defence that faces an obliging run of opponents going into January. While there are other options in the Gunners defence, notably Kieran Gibbs, the Polish keeper is assured of his number one status and is reasonably priced to offer promise between the sticks.

Ben Foster is now edging a return to the West Brom lineup and so can take his place in our thinking for the Christmas period. He fares well in tandem with Asmir Begovic, who looks set to suffer a torrid time in terms of fixtures. Foster also works well with Villa’s Brad Guzan, while West Ham’s Jussi Jaaskelainen is, at last, coming out of an evil run of fixtures to offer value once more in the New Year.

Defenders

Glen Johnson continues to impress with his forward forays and has the fixtures to maintain his form both in defensive and attacking terms. He remains on top of our rankings, holding off the charge of Jan Vertonghen, who delivered on his promise with the winning goal against Swansea at the weekend. With very strong fixtures over the next five, the Belgian is an expensive punt but, as we mentioned last week, a clear differential who could prove highly effective.

City’s Matija Nastasic climbs in our thinking, despite continued concerns on rotation in the City ranks. The Serbian is priced at 5.6 in the FPL and that’s a big factor which makes the prospect of being rested somewhat more bearable. City’s fixtures are strong enough to warrant the gamble and, with Vincent Kompany likely to be fit for a return, defensive solidity is set to be restored, having conceded at Newcastle.

Arsenal’s Kieran Gibbs would have been ranked higher had it not been for today’s news on the Boxing Day postponement. Gibbs showed his attacking qualities in the win at Reading and sneaks in above the less expensive Bacary Sagna. The Frenchman may have lost his fruitful partnership with Theo Walcott on the right flank after the winger was moved inside at the Madejski and that also works in Gibbs’ favour. Neither Arsenal full-back is 100% secure but Gibbs is possibly the safest route, with Sagna threatened by Carl Jenkinson for his starts over the busy festive spell.

The Chelsea defence is edging back into the equation, marked by Branislav Ivanovic’s climb in our rankings. His ascent is not enough to overtake Leighton Baines and United’s Rafael, however.

In terms of mid-price and budget, West Brom’s Gareth McAuley remains a solid option, have returned a clean sheet against the Hammers and with strong fixtures to come. Villa’s Ciaran Clark and Norwich City’s Sebastian Bassong have goal threat to compensate for a testing fixture list, while Joey O’Brien now appears to carry the flag for the West Ham defence – the full-back seems to have cemented his start and offers some attacking intent.

Midfielders

Michu remains top, despite the fact he’s still just a single yellow card away from a one-match ban. His form is strong enough to maintain his ”most wanted” status, regardless of some testing festive fixtures.

The charge of Arsenal pairing Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott is considerable but is tempered by the postponement of their Gameweek 19 fixture. Both players sparkled in the win at Reading but their potential has been somewhat derailed by today’s announcement.

With Arsenal drawing that Boxing Day blank, City’s David Silva earns a top three ranking: the Spaniard remains the most secure and sound investment in Roberto Maninci’s side ahead of the visit of Reading this weekend. Both Gareth Bale and Juan Mata also jump above the Arsenal pairing, despite the Tottenham man being on the verge of a ban and not yet being assured of his start against Stoke, following a recent hamstring injury.

Adel Taarabt is your best placed mid-price asset off the back of his outstanding display in the win over Fulham – although he, too, is just a booking away from a ban, with African Cup of Nations commitments also beckoning in January. Yaya Toure is also vulnerable to the call of international duty but offers enough in the short-term to retain a decent Watchist ranking: Silva remains the weapon of choice, however.

Southampton’s Jason Puncheon is the highest rank budget option, just nudging out Raheem Sterling, who looks set to earn a rest of some degree over the next fortnight. West Ham’s Kevin Nolan has poor form but – once his Boxing Day blank is out of the way – has fixtures ahead of him that show promise; look for him to climb further as the weeks roll by.

United’s Ashley Young is now our preferred midfield option in Sir Alex Ferguson’s ranks – ousting Antonio Valencia on form. There’s little doubt that Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney are the prime targets in the league’s most potent side, although Young is a decent compromise in midfield. Rotation remains a concern, however.

Forwards

There’s no let up in the form of both Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney and it’s a brave Fantasy manager who goes forward from this point without one of them enrolled in their squads. Goals look forthcoming as United’s fixtures continue to please and the gap between these two and the rest of the chasing pack is pretty significant in terms of potential goal power.

Jermain Defoe is currently ranked third, with Luis Suarez suffering a blip of late. Dimitar Berbatov’s form is also a major concern, although his fixtures are so strong, he could well climb back into our top three following the trip to Anfield this weekend.

Villa’s Christian Benteke is undoubtedly your differential and man in form below these established names. He has enough in his favour to rank above the City pairing in our thinking – with fixtures falling nicely for the Belgian following the testing trip to Stamford Bridge.

Both Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero have to remain in our thoughts given their quality and the fixtures ahead of them, but there is real uncertainty over just how many minutes we’ll get from this pairing over the next two weeks. Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli remain factors in Roberto Mancini’s squad and this dents the appeal of the Argentine pairing, making Silva all that more enticing as an acquisition in midfield.

Good luck guys:)

My under achievers are up against TJ ALLSTARS who last week scored an amazing 85 points. :respect:

I was going to wish you best wishes and good luck Barry but if you only score half as many points this week, you will probably see off my Bumblers without breaking sweat.

TENERIFE FORUM FANTASY FOOTBALL UPDATE GAMEWEEKS 18 and 19

Time for another Fantasy Football update after 2 quick gameweeks(GAMEWEEK 18 AND 19)(i will cover both Gameweeks in this update),GAMEWEEK 18 was an unusual week with points quite hard to come by,but we had some amazing performances from the TFF Members as always,Red Bullets was our top scorer with a sublime (76) points, followed closely by RedStar Taylormade(71)and adejereds (67),AguaDulce Reds hit (65) with Steve's Bumble Fc having a great week with (64) and Barry's Caribe Celtic hitting (63) great scoring that is guys, much higher than the Gameweek average of 42 so hat's off.

No major changes in the League table after Gameweek 18 but one noticeable change is that the top 10 of the League are starting to come a lot closer to each other and the league certainly is hotting up.
--------------------------------------------------------
GAMEWEEK 19 average came out at 41 points, and that to me looked a tough average to beat, but the performances remained solid in the TENERIFE FORUM CLASSIC LEAGUE,Top scorers in GW 19 were landlords11 with (65) followed by Murph's Marauders (63),my own mob scored 61 with Untouchables coming home with 59,Choke the Chicken (58) and the solid Agua Dulce Reds (56) well done to all.

The table especially at the top is now incredibly tight,a lot of teams are now upping the anti and putting in a real push that is making this seasons battle for victory a real test...Al's Ultras remain top for 19 weeks running but they have had a slip up in form and they are now under pressure from the chasing pack, the Untouchables(2nd) are now 17 points behind Al on (999) points and seem to have hit a purple patch,Choke the Chicken goes upto (3rd) with COL NIL SATIS upto (4th),Agua Dulce Reds stay (5th) with the multiplescorgasms dropping to (6th).

At the wrong end of the table we have the ALLSTARS,westmidstykes and the Knights all struggling for points.

Bumble FC v Agua Dulce Reds

Any team with RVP in the line-up is dangerous, the man consistently produces the goods.
So the head to head this game week against Mike's team is another challenge for my Bumblers.
If RVP fails to score, I may have a chance but it's a BIG........IF!!!!!

Best wishes and good luck Mike. :goodluck:

The transfer window opens after this game week and also the opportunity to use the second wildcard.
I'm seriously considering a major reshuffle that will allow me to include RVP.
Also, don't forget to check if any of your players are going to The African Cup of Nations.
It may have a bearing on your decisions about team selection.
One last word of warning, it may pay to wait until near the end of the transfer window before playing your wildcard.

Good luck for the second half of the season to everyone and best wishes for 2013.
