The Department of Services, directed by Juan Rodriguez Bello, has announced the beginning of a major overhaul in the coastalvillageofLos Abrigos, consisting of expanding the number of parking spaces, as well a major tidy up of the area near the beach, the fisheries site and refreshment area. Also under way is work that will unify and extend the sidewalks along the front, in order to improve accessibility and safety for pedestrians and visitors.
With the collaboration of the Environment Department, under the leadership of Councillor Jacob Donate, and the Security Department, headed up by Guacimara Gonzalez, work is planned to improve the aesthetics of the Los Abrigos waterfront, using various artistic designs that will reinforce the town’s maritime identity.
There have also been improvements in urban signage to help residents and visitors locate parking zones.
These works have been carried out by Municipal workers and paid for from the municipal coffers, in an effort to respond to requests from local neighbourhood associations and businesses.
