Tenerife Forum 7th Birthday Party!

Good morning folks!

The time is almost here for the celebrations of the Tenerife Forum's 7th Birthday.

The Tenerife Forum came into existence on the 7th October 2005 and this year we will be 7 years old!

That's 7 years of information, friendly chat, helping each other... and we've achieved so much in those 7 years, we deserve to celebrate it with a good booze up ;) :cheers:

tonypub has kindly donated his venue for the event, and will provide us with some top notch entertainment for the night, however we have to decide which night would be best to celebrate, as the actual birthday is on the 7th, which is the sunday, however we could easily hold it a day before on the Saturday 6th if it was more convenient for the majority.

Please use the poll above to vote for the preferred date. The poll will be left open exactly a week to allow everyone to vote :)

Other arrangements will be posted on this thread and this post updated as and when things are confirmed.

Well... a birthday is a birthday... but seeing how few members are available... how about changing the date? e.g. Eva and I will be back at the end of next month... for the winter..!At any point over a 12 month period, there are always loads of member not available, because everyone has a holiday at different times. About 4.2% (23/24ths) of the responses will logically not be able to attend on any given date (if people normally holiday for two weeks a year). This meetup has a 'yes' rate of 11%, which is more than double the expected response.

Meetups are arranged all year, so I'm sure you'll be able to attend one at some time, as will other members... however the Birthday Party will only ever happen on or around the 7th October... as that is the Forum's Birthday ;) :)

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't been on the forum for quite some time. My wife and I were over in Ireland for 10 days from 24th Aug until 4th Sept, we went to the 60th anniversary of 'The Quiet Man' festival in Cong, County Mayo and had a great time. I saw lots of Maureen O'Hara look-a-likes.
While we were away my Fantasy Football team crashed and only scored 19 points. Ha Ha.
I then had a minor operation to repair a hernia on Thursday 13th Sept and although it all went well, I am still quite a bit tender. I've told everyone it was my 60th birthday present from the NHS and I'm grateful because the care I received was 1st class.
My wife wanted to visit Tenerife as part of my convalescence but I said no, I want to be fully recovered when I return. Therefore, we won't be over for the party but I will hopefully organise a trip over for the 8th birthday party. As I mentioned in my intro, I am retired now but my wife still works full time. If she can arrange leave early in the new year, we are hoping to book a week on the island. If there is a meet up organised whilst we are there, I would love to attend and meet some members. I would really like to meet Young Golfer. I am sure all members are good people but having followed his exploits in helping others, he seems to be one of life's diamonds.
