The FIASCT has announced the Subida a Tamaimo and Arona to La Escalona rallies for the weekends of November 11th (Tamaimo) and November 18th (Arona-La Escalona).

Tamaimo hosts ‘Subida’ this weekend. The time test is valid for the Spanish and Canaries Championships and will be held on November 10th and 11th.

The announcement of the test was presented by Cabildo vice president, Cristina Valido, Minister of Sports, Jesus Perez, the Mayor and the Councillor for Sports of Santiago del Teide, Juan Gorrín and Guillermo Évora, respectively, President of the Interinsular Automobile Federation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Benito Rodriguez, representative of the Royal Spanish Automobile Federation, Manoli Gimeno, and president of Scuderia Barlia Motor Sport, Francisco Morales.

Minister Perez highlighted the work that has been done by Benito Rodriguez, “The person who, from the beginning, defended the need for these tests inTenerifein theNationalMountaincompetitions. It was not easy to get, and we have seen that two tests have not come about for economic and organisational reasons.

“The Cabildo, through the area of Sports and Tourism of Tenerife, is making an extraordinary effort for theIslandto be the epicentre of theNationalMountaincompetitions this year”.

The Tamaimo subida has a 5.5 kilometres route and its special features, with an average gradient of 6.5%, make it a legendary event for both drivers and fans. The race will be held on the TF-47 and TF-454 that connects the towns of Los Gigantes and Tamaimo.

The official training session will take place on Saturday 10th, starting at 12.30, and the first race starts at 16.30. Sunday November 11th will begin with training (9.00), while the two remaining stages should start at 10.30 and 12.30. The awards ceremony will take place at 14.00 in the Puerto Santiago square
