Why is the Hotel Playa Canaria in Puerto de la Cruz closed?

Does anyone know why the Hotel Playa Canaria in Puerto is closed? I think it closed today and I have searched the net trying to find out why. The normal web site for booking a room is offering accommodation from November 1st so maybe it is for refurbishment.

There is no information posted on the door.
