I noticed the other day that the Spreafico policlinica in Los Cristianos has closed signs on it and all the signage has been taken down. I believe Dr Spreafico is terminally ill, but there were other medical staff and specialists involved with this clinic. Does anyone know if the clinic will open again or know of alternative private clinics (not hospitals) to go to in the area?

I Hope that this is not true as we use them as general GPS and dentist and have done so for years.I am going to Los Cris tommorrow so will have a look.
We have struggled to find any similar places but do find Costa Adejevery good for specialists and there emergency department now offers I believe a general GP for non emergency things , but you do have to use the emergency reception.

Does anyone have any further information on this? Where else in Los Cristianos can you renew your driving licence?

HI DeeD,
I went once to a place in Los Cris, walking away from the big roundabout, past where the fair locates itself, towards Las Americas.

Pass the apt block with the fancy picture on the gable end and half way past the next building you will find a staircase to the lower level. Look to the right, and the office is on the left. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ll=28.056062,-16.71504&spn=0.01299,0.016758&t=m&z=16&layer=c&cbll=28.056062,-16.71504&panoid=j2SCU0N1UnRKDH9rwScsqA&cbp=12,182.14,,0,-1.27

Hope this helps. :goodluck:

It is true, I'm afraid.

I spoke to the assistant in 'Chocolate' next door and they have closed and have not relocated.

I would like to know where my medical records are!

I was also halfway through a course of dental treatment, so I'm not too happy

I hadn't thought of that Mike ,perhaps we should contact the Medical college and ask about this, there must be one in Santa Cruz

Hi, does anyone know where the clinic behind Trebol in Los Cristianos has gone. Where else do you go now then, as they have all our records?????

I understand that thanks, as we noticed when we were over in December. As people have asked, how are medical records going to be returned?
We used Spreafico's for 8 yrs when living there, so they have our records too.
Does anyone know where the Dr's have moved to, especially Dr Roberto?
I presume that their clinic in Las Galletas has also closed?
Were any patients informed of the closure, it doesn't appear that they were as some people were in the middle of treatment it seems?
Our medical insurance company, Adeslas paid for most of our treatment, has anyone contacted their insurer for advice?
Thanks

Someone did say that one of the Dr's is near Ofipapel.

I'll check back on here from time to time.

Thanks

No details of where the records are.

I signed up with NEC at El Camison and they have now stopped taking DKV too - not looking too good!!!

Not sure I understand. Is DKV in trouble, & if so, are they the cause of Spreafico's closing?

Talk about how to start a bad rumour. DKV are fine and doing very well.

Dr Spreafico is totally different thing. THey closed their doors in the last few months of 2012 - costs were one of several factors.

Never let the truth get in the way of a good rumour ;)

No need to take that attitude, I only enquired as some posts don't give enough information. Mike had said that the Dr's in El Camison had stopped taking DKV too, which sounds like other Dr's have stopped taking it. I only enquired if DKV are in trouble as surgeries aren't taking them & wondered if that had been the cause of the demise of Spreaficos. Not starting a rumour at all, just asking!

Could it be that the reason some clinics are no longer accepting DKV is because they are just a bit slow in paying out claims? Just a thought! I must admit I would also be concerned if my insurance was not being accepted! narrows the field down a bit!

I agree. Some of them are very slow payers, which is unfair. I remember having to pick the right places to go to that accepted Adeslas who we were insured with at the time. We used Spreaficos as they accepted Adeslas.

Almost certain i saw Dr Spreafico clinic in Las Galletas today. Not sure if it is the same one. It is on the same side aas the Alborado Hotel virtually opposite the BBVA bank.

hope this helps.

yes there is one in Las Galletas which was run by the other brother but as far as I know they do not take any insurances only paying patients.I will however pop in and ask next time I am down there unless anyone finds out beforehand.

Good news ... of sorts

The old Spreafico building is soon to reopen as a medical centre. No further details as yet, but builders are working on the interior.

There is a website address posted in the windows - it's so easy that I didn't write it down and now can't remember it :( so if anyone is passing, could you post it on this thread so that we can hopefullt find out a bit more information.

Went past today and the door was open ( with workmen inside) and asked when it would be open and was told 15th July.
Don't know any more sorry but at least that's a start.
