Can you help this 3 yr old little girlie?(a poodle/terrier mix, i think). She desperately needs a loving home with a very special person. This is her very sad story from the information I have gathered from the neighbours.
Fortunately she was found by a guy who was taking down one of those election posters from a house. He spotted her left in a room without any food or water, with dog mess everywhere. He also said there was another dead dog in that room. He opened the door and she rang out and made her way into the street. Thats when i spotted her. I tried to coax her with some food but she turned and scurried with all the little strength she could muster into the yard at the back of this house. I didnt want to frighten her further so i left her food and water for a day. The next day I managed to catch the very frightened girl and took her to K9.
The man who used to live in the house apparently is not a very nice man and is thought to be living elsewhere now. The dogs have never been seen out just the occasionally barks heard when police cars (sirens) are passing by.
So I gather that this poor little nervous girlie has never been let out of the house, never mixed/seen any people or anything else beside the four walls in which she was found.
Her 3 years living like this, donīt bear thinking about.
I felt really bad for this little dog that I decided to foster her as she really needs one 2 one care for awhile. Unfortunately my living arrangements are in no way ideal at this moment as well as my flatmate having an allergy to dogs, so sadly after 5 days I had to return her to K9.
In those 5 days (though more evenings and nights as I work during the day) with me I discovered what this gentle strong spunky survivor is really like. Although shes incredibly nervous of people, literally shaking like a leaf when shes approach or held, she very inquisitive. She was constantly watching what i was doing and approached me to discover new smells or things i held (though immediately backing off keeping her distance - her little nose is constantly twitching, getting the better of her!
Some noises really spook her but she doesnt go and hide in a corner, she just keeps coming back to see what else is there for her to see. Also I found it is less scary for her when I crouch down making myself a little bit smaller to her.
She loves her food and is eating well. She very quickly learned to poop in the right place! thank goodness!!
Shes very good when left alone, i left her a bone to chew on while out at work as i havent managed to find anything she likes to play with as yet.
Shes a really lovely, gentle, quiet, spunky soul, Though probably very confused little girl.
Shes getting used to wearing a collar but is not walking on a lead as yet. I am spending some hours at the weekends with her so hopefully this is just a matter of a little time. I took her out of K9 today in a dog carrier, had her nails trimmed at the petshop as they were soo long, she trembled to bits. I brought her to mix with a friends dog after that and they got on fine and she seemed to relax a bit more. So no problem there. She tremled again when she went into her kennel back at K9.
So Im telling you all this, hoping that there is a special person out there, someone who has plenty of time, love and patience to help her and give her a loving forever home.
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this!

And a big thanks to K9 for taking her in, getting her checked out at the Vets, defleaing and worming her. And testing her for heartworm, luckily the result came back negative.
If anyone can help in any way please get in touch.
Thanks
