Hi i have some questions about the buses in Tenerife.
I will come with boat to Tenerife from Las Palmas and will be in Tenerife about 18:00 the 1st November.

I need to take a bus down to Costa del Silencio, what bus shall i take and how often do they go and from what street do i take the bus and where can i buy a ticket for the bus down to Costa del Silencio? (Ops many questions, hehe)

I also wonder this thing, can i buy monthly bus pass or weekly bus pass for traveling as much as i want on the island?
Where can i buy this and what are the prices, i am 24 years old.

Have a nice day! Robin. :spin:

I'm assuming you are arriving at Santa Cruz ?
You need to go to Bus Station and take 111 ,going to Las Americas and get off at Las Chafiras stop which is on motorway.
Walk up ramp to bus stop and get 470 which will take you close to Silencio or get a taxi from this point as it will be easier.
You can buy a Bono ticket. In Bus Station for €30 which is valid for 1 year and this will give you discount on fares.

Or, although it will take a bit longer, you could get the 115 which will take you from Santa Cruz to Costa Del Silencio without having to change buses :)

Not sure if Nov 1st is a fiesta. Day , All Saints, so this 115 is very infrequent .

You're right junglejim, not many running on a fiesta day, but worth it if he does manage to catch that one, so he won't have to change buses.

ahhh wait, just looked again, the last one is 18.10 on a fiesta day, so no good by the time he gets off boat.... you'd have to run pretty quick hahaha

Its my first time on Tenerife only been to other Canary islands before.

I will take the ferry from Las Palmas (to 01 nov - 14:00) and i will be in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (to 01 nov - 18:00) i have no idea where to go hehe.

I cant speak Spanish so i find it hard to understand the websites you showed me, maybe someone can help me tell me what bus exactly and what time it goes and from what street maybe show on Google map. And if i can buy the ticket on the bus station or somewhere close it. I think it will take me some time from where the ferry arrive to the bus station to.

I can forget the 115 bus right? :)

At least a bus that bring me somewhere close the city then i can jump on my Longboard and try to find the place. :)

Feeling a little retarded now actually. :)

And also, you know if i can bring my backpack + Longboard to my seat? I dont want to leave it down in the bus i will have allot of stuff worth much to me in the bag hehe. I dont know what to do if i lose my bag.

When you come off the ferry ,the bus station is to the left , either walk along the main carriageway towards the large exhibition centre (Auditorio) and you will see the bus station (Intercambiador) on right hand side -about 10-15 minutes walk, or take a taxi to station .

When you enter the bus station on ground floor

there are kiosks at back of hall that sell Bono Cards - if you are staying 2 months get a €30 card. The fare with Bono card is about €6.50
The 111 bus leaves from the top level every 30 minutes .

Your journey will be about 50 minutes to las Chafiras then you have to walk up ramp and cross over bridge -I would advise a taxi to Silencio , as long as you know your address as it will be getting dark when you arrive.

Thank you!!!
I have visited all websites and has created a sense of how I come to the hotel and how far it is.
The only problem as you are saying is the darkness and it might be hard to see where to go + there are no sidewalks on some streets so i have to walk/go by Longboard on the car-road.

How much do you think the taxi would cost from the bridge where i go off the bus to Silencio? :)

I will get the €30 bus card as you said. Can i later refill this €30 card when it gets empty?
Can i see how much is left on the card in any way?

Thanks for your answer, it really helped me!

A few years ago, I used my Nokia N95 sat nav when I started using the buses on routes I was unfamiliar with - it allowed you to get your position and thus ring the bell to stop.

The Titsa buses are great fun - you get to see real locals and tourists alike, and if you don't know where you are, you can ask.

I always take a 5 watt led torch with me in Tenerife - its great when you are out in the dark at night on your own.

Hi again.

Actually i had an new iPhone 4s that i did take a bath with and it was totally broken..
I collected some money some weeks ago and bought a new iPhone from a guy online, unfortunately that guy tried to trick me and i did not receive any phone and he still have my money. He used a fake email but i have some skills so i managed to get his real email+name+homestead and all that stuff. I had to threaten the guy and hope he sends the money back next week so I can buy a new phone. I did really need this phone to use for getting my position and finding places and connect to wi-fi spots.

It is sad that people behave in that way.
He can run but he can't hide!!! :)

But hopefully i can at least buy a cheap iPhone 3Gs or something before i go.

Thanks for your advise! :)

When your Bono card is finished you just buy a new one from bus station or shops that sell them. The residual value is printedon the back of card after each journey - when you have a little left on card but not enough for fare you can pay the rest in cash .
I would think the taxi might be €6 but someone else may know ?
I assume a "Longboard " is a skateboard ? You may risk a broken ankle trying to use it in some areas! Do not take your Longboard or Bono card into the bath!

Thank you it works like the cards we got in my town some years ago they are real easy to use.

I will try to not bring my stuff to the beach in risk to get it stolen.

Thanks again for useful answers! :)

Changed plans! :)

I will catch a ferry that goes 16:00 the 31st October from Gran Canaria and arrives 18:30 to Santa Cruz Tenerife.
Lets say i can be on the bus terminal 19:10 or something can i catch the bus 115 from Santa Cruz to Costa Del Silencio?

I have trouble understanding the bus timetable.

Any bus going from 19:10 or something.

Would be so nice to get a bus that goes the whole way to Costa Del Silencio.

Thanks!!!!!

It will be very tight for first at 19:00 and depend on time of arrival - there is bad weather predicted for next week so may be a delay !
Bring an umbrella for your skateboard!
